Sister Stamps Release #25 -- Po

Hello!  Hope you like the new Sister Stamps pandas so far.  I think they are super cute and playful. Here is my card featuring Po.  The name just reminds me of Kung Fu Panda.  My kids love the movies and Po was such a cute baby panda!  I hope they make a third one soon.  I used the same bamboo embossing folder on some watercolor cardstock and more gelatos.  I think I like using the gelatos with water best.  Then I used some Lawn Fawn dies for the speech bubble and the hello.  I added some felt grass and sequins.  Here is a close up of Po and his little behind!  This is such a fun image! Be sure to check out what the DT has created too! Joy (Guest DT) Jenny (Sister Stamps) Debi Linda Linda (You Tube Channel) Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sister Stamps Release #25 -- Ling Ling

Hello!  It's been a while.  I've been neglecting my blog and I can't even say I've been crafting and just not blogging.  I haven't been crafting much, just haven't been in the mood lately.  But I did get out my crafty stuff to make a couple of cards for Sister Stamps Release #25.  I stamped and colored a few of these cute little pandas to make future projects too. Here is Ling Ling!  Such a happy little panda.  I had to make an interactive card with her because she looks so roly poly.  I had the perfect sentiment from Lawn Fawn too. Here is Ling Ling rolling along.  I embossed the background with my bamboo embossing folder and rubbed some gold, yellow and trace amounts of blue gelatos onto kraft colored card stock.  I wanted it to look more green but I don't have green gelatos so I thought I could mix blue and yellow onto the cardstock.  I should've actually mixed them together first and then rubbed that on.  Anyway, I think it's simpler if

Hello Kitty sticker book

Hi everyone!  It is so humid here that I get all sweaty just washing the dishes!  I hope that counts as some kind of exercise. I've switched gears back to paper crafting and put my sewing on the side for a bit.  I wanted to make something fun and it was inspired by some sticker shopping.  I bought these cute stickers and instead of just mailing them to my friend's daughter, I thought it'd be cute to make a sticker book too.  Plus I had this idea of using clear contact paper on the pages so the stickers would be removable.  I bought the roll of contact paper for the Pokemon wrappers that I had sewed up.  Such an economical roll of contact paper!  I think I can still make a lot of projects. Here is the cover of the book.  I used my Sizzix Hello Kitty die for the cover.  I had this one sheet of HK paper for a while too so finally I was able to use it.  I covered this page with contact paper as well just to kind of protect it a bit. The next pages have little pockets

apples for teachers

Hi everyone!  Wow, tomorrow is the first day of school for my boys!  I can't believe how fast the summer went.  They are all packed and ready to go and boy, do they have a lot of supplies to take the first day.  I'm gonna have my daughter help me carry everything. During one of my blog stalking days, I came across this cute tutorial on how to make an apple pin cushion.  I thought maybe I can't really make it cause I didn't think I could follow the curve of the apple nicely but it's really not too bad.  I thought they would also make cute gifts for the teachers.  So I spent most of yesterday making these apple pin cushions so my boys could take them on the first day of school.  I think they are cute even if the teachers might not sew or actually use them as pin cushions.  Maybe they could just sit nicely on the teachers' desks? I'm giving the 2 larger ones to the teachers.  I made the smaller one first and didn't realize it would be so small but it

upcycling Pokemon wrappers

Hello everyone!  I am back with my latest sewing creations.  I have been playing around with plastic wrappers!  I've seen those upcycled plastic wrap bags and purses (usually made from Capri Sun package juice) but never really paid attention to them or how they were made until I saw this tutorial using the wrappers from Pokemon cards.  My boys love Pokemon cards and were just throwing the wrappers away but I started saving them and collected enough from their recent birthdays to make a couple of items.  Here is a little coin pouch (didn't want to call it a purse since it's for my youngest boy and he'd probably not like that).  This little pouch was made with 4 wrappers, 2 in front and 2 in back.  It is a bit tough to turn right side out because the wrappers and contact paper get stiff.  But it's possible and looks really neat!  I made it so he could hang it from the inside of his backpack and also carry around a little bit of emergency cash.  I always have my
