Halloween treats!

Hello!  Today, I did a little bit of crafting for fun.  I have a couple of projects in the works for my kids that I'll share when they are done.  I also did my usual chores and meal prep.  But realized I couldn't cook dinner early today because we have absolutely no room in the fridge to put a large pot of chili in when I'm done cooking it.  So I guess that'll have to wait for later this afternoon after I pick up my 2 out of 3 kids from school.  Wednesdays are interesting because I have to make multiple trips out of the house for pick ups at different times.  Just thinking about it makes me wanna take a nap!  But instead I ate some pie.  In case you are wondering, my 3rd child will get picked up by my hubby.  Don't worry, I only forgot to pick up one of my children once the whole time I was a parent.  That's not too bad, is it?  Oh, and once I overslept while napping which is why I don't nap much during the day anymore.  I was relying on my son who was just a few months old to wake up crying from his nap to wake me up but of course that would be the day he decided to play quietly in his crib.  I kind of shot up out of bed, grabbed him and rushed out the door!

Well, it's almost Halloween and my youngest still likes to pass out treats.  The past couple of Halloweens, we've been giving out glow sticks to his class.  This year we're giving glow sticks again but just dressed up differently.

I had seen some ideas like this floating around blogland.  I think some people used this idea for Valentine's Day as well and used lollipops or other stick candy.  I just found this Yoda image online.  I think it was a sticker or something.  I broke a couple of glow sticks while doing this too and had to print out the paper a bit long to cover the rest of the glow stick.  I used a bit of washi tape on the back to keep the stick from shifting around too much.  But of course, Star Wars purists (hubby & children) will criticize my treats and say Yoda doesn't have an orange, yellow or white light saber.  Blah, blah, blah.  Don't really care.  The point is to pass out something fun to the kiddies.

Hey, I forgot to share my new banner I use at craft fairs!  I guess regular paper in a sheet protector and taped to my tablecloth was kind of lame cause it kept falling down!  I got this banner at Vistaprint and it was pretty affordable too.

Okay, I think I will finish up some more crafts today.  Oh, and next time I'll share the reindeer tags I made.  I did end up making all 24!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Craft Fair #4 Review, cards & ramblings

Hello!  Yesterday, we attended the fair at Hawaii Kai Retirement Center.  It was a pretty short fair, only about 4 hours but the time did crawl at some points!  It was kind of a different fair for me and a different crowd.  Less crafty people for customers, I think.  I'm so used to speaking with people who like to make cards and stamp, and I think I kind of missed that yesterday.  But all in all, a good experience.

But someone did ask me how I have the time to make so many crafts.  And then she asked if I work.  I still have to get used to answering questions like that.  Do you work?  Do you have a job?  What do you do?  I'm so used to saying no, I don't work.  But really I think I have a 24 hour job.  I don't have a regular 9-5 job.  I work all the time even in my sleep!  As a parent, do you sleep so soundly that you don't wake up when you hear a noise?  Ever since having children, I haven't slept well.  I'm less sleep deprived now that my children are older but I wake up pretty immediately when one of my kids walks into our room for some reason or another.  I can't nap during the day because I think I'm gonna oversleep and forget to pick up one my kids.  Plus there is so much to do during the day between drop offs, pick ups, volunteering, running errands, doing household chores & prepping 3 meals a day everyday for five of us.  Who really has time for a nap???

Now that I've added my Etsy shop and doing some craft fairs, I have more things to do & not enough time.  I just wondered too at that person who asked me that question, What does she think I'm doing at this craft fair?  Hello, I'm spending my Sunday at a craft fair selling my crafts.  Does that not look like work?  Does selling crafts not count as a job?  It might seem like a fun job and in a way it is but I do differentiate between crafting for fun and crafting for work.  It is different.  So I have to practice answering that question, I work and I have many different jobs!  On a side note, I have my kids practice answering that question too.  They are instructed to say, My mom has an online store, please shop there!

I'm not sure if I shared some of these cards.  They'll be added into my Etsy store within the next couple days.  I worked as a photographer today and took a million photos and edited them too so I could list them in the store.  All stamps by Sister Stamps.

I also added some of these pretty butterfly sequins.  These are a bit thinner than the other sequins like the snowflakes.

Pink ones

White ones

Green clovers.  These are thicker sliced, more like traditional sequins.  I've had all of these for a little while and only got motivated to list because of a customer's interest.  So I'm grateful for that little push to get these into the store.

And as always, I am thankful for your comments and support!

Craft Fair #3 Review & Craft Fair #4!

Hello!  Our third craft fair was at the Rubberstamp Expo again and I think I like this venue better than the 99 Ranch fair.  Mostly I guess because there is light!  It's kind of important that people can actually see what they are buying!  I will be signing up for the November 15th Rubberstamp Expo as well.  Not sure if that will be my last fair for this year or if I should go into December.  I think my hubby is getting burnt out!  He misses his Sunday naps.

It is nice talking with everyone and seeing familiar faces.  It's nice to talk about stamping and crafting with others who share that same interest.  People ask me about my coloring and all I can say is "practice!"  If you look at my early cards, they didn't look how they do now.  I think my style has changed and evolved.  Less papers and more about the image than the background.

These are a couple of cards I was trying to complete for last week's fair but ran out of time.  Isn't that the story of life?  Never enough time to do everything.  I am trying to finish up 4 more cards and also make 24 tags.  Haha, that makes me laugh as I type this.  Wow, 24 tags?  Geez.  And they are shaker tags too!  What am I thinking?  But I think I can do it!  Positive thinking!

I will be at our 4th craft fair this Sunday, October 25th at the Hawaii Kai Retirement Center from 11 am to 3 pm.  I have never been to this fair so I'm not sure what to expect.  I'm not even sure exactly where this is.  I'll have to check it out before that day so I know where we're going.

I hope if you live around Hawaii Kai, you'll come out and visit me!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Craft Fair Tomorrow!!

Hello!  Wow, it is a hot day today!  Spent the morning with my youngest at a small pumpkin patch.  It was so hot we couldn't stay very long but we got strawberry lemonade and that was yummy.

You would think that going into my 3rd craft fair I'd be better prepared but not really.  There is always something more I could be doing but I think I'm just gonna stop for now.  I'm so tired!  Plus today is laundry day and I have to cook dinner so the most I can do is take inventory and pack everything for the fair tomorrow.

Some cards that I'll have at the fair.  Sorry for the reflection, I already packed them into their clear bags.

I love these cards!

I love these too.  I think she looks great in red.  All stamps from Sister Stamps.

So if you are local, come stop by the Rubberstamp Expo at Blaisdell Hawaii Suite on Sunday, October 18 from 9 am to 3 pm.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sister Stamps Release #29 -- Bobo, Peanut & Pixie

Hello!  Welcome back!  It's Sister Stamps release day!  Get your cute peek-a-boo stamps today!  I have a couple more projects to share today so I'll get started.

I made these little shaker boxes to use on my next cards.  I added a pinch of this and that, and they are so fun and cute.

I turned the shaker boxes into Christmas presents by adding a big bow on top and added Peanut on the side to have him peeking out from behind.  Then I used an alphabet set from Lawn Fawn to create the sentiment at the top.

Then this is the sentiment on the inside.

This one has a red bow with Peanut.

Then a green bow with a gray Peanut.

I also made more desk calendars but they are shorter and wider than the ones I shared yesterday.

Here is Bobo.  I love the way these peek from the side.  So cute!

More of Peanut.

Lastly, we have Pixie and she is my favorite.  I love the expression on her face!  So cute!  I layered the calendars on some corrugated cardstock I had in my stash.  I think they were from an Amy Tan collection from a while back.

Here's a side view.

Sister Stamps Release #29 -- More Boo Boo, Buster & Dixie

Hello!  Welcome back to another day of Sister Stamps projects!  Aren't all of these peeking animals so cute and clever?  And they are so quick to color so it was easy for me to make tons of stuff with these new stamps.

These bookmarks were actually the first set of projects I made with these stamps.  More animal puns here created with Lawn Fawn's alphabet stamps.

I made these bookmarks for my 3 kids and they have been using them for a while now.  I had this idea in my head to do a partial die cut to just frame the heads of these animals peeking out.  I also stamped, cut and glued extra paws to go over the heart diecut to give it that extra detail.

So sweet, right?  These bookmarks are extra sturdy.  I used some clear contact paper over the cardstock on both sides so the bookmarks are glossy and hopefully will last longer.

They each have hearts in the sentiments too.

Here is the side view and maybe you can see the gloss of the contact paper.

Oh, magnetic too!  And you can see how it was just partially die cut using a Spellbinders circle die.

Okay, I have another project to share in this same post so hopefully you'll stick with me.  It's just cause I have a lot to share and these were inspired by the bookmarks.

Calendars!  I like the way the bookmarks were cut so I thought if I folded them a certain way, they would also make perfect desktop calendars!

I just added in a fold to create a bottom for the calendar.  Also added their paws on dimensional stickers so they go slightly over the calendars and look more like they are holding onto them.

Simple to make.

I plan to add these to my Etsy store.

Hopefully they will be listed by the end of this week or early next week.

Don't forget to see what the DT has created!

Sister Stamps Release #29 -- Boo Boo, Buster & Dixie

Hello!  Well, it's been some time since the last Sister Stamps release but Jenny's making up for it by releasing 6 new stamps this time around.  And these animals are so cute and pretty much perfect for any occasion.  The cards I created today, I made waaaaaay back in March!  And so finally I can share them with you today.

I think I was into creating my own animal puns back then!

Here's Dixie and she's looking over the sentiment that's below her.  I masked off the rainbow colored rectangle with some washi tape and sponged some distress inks.  The sentiment was created with a Lawn Fawn alphabet set.

Here is Boo Boo with his own matching bear pun.

And lastly, we have Buster.  I like his "pawesome" pun the best.  I use it again in another project I'll share later.

Then I thought all these guys should hang out together so I made another card and gave a couple of them party hats.  Then my daughter says Dixie looks sad cause she doesn't have a hat.  Well, she has ears!  Long ears!  Oh well.

I had fun making these and working with the other stamps too so I can't wait to share my next projects.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT.
