Birthday card

This was my attempt at a male birthday card. I'm going to stop prefacing with "simple card" because that's how all my cards seem to be turning out. I like looking at other people's detailed projects, but I have no idea how people come up with all those ideas. I found a blog recently with a lot of cute mini albums and embellishments here . Plus she gives really detailed instructions about how to layer everything that I'm thinking at some point I might want to try it. But in the meantime, here's my card. Mostly I wanted to try using my Library Card stamp from PTI and the matching library card pocket die. I embossed the kraft card base with a cuttlebug folder. The library card is stamped on rustic cream cardstock, then cut with my paper trimmer, then the corners were rounded with the small EK success punch. The "happy birthday" stamp is from Birthday Basics from PTI. I used a Versamagic chalk ink in Aegean Blue. I actually found a piece of Bazzil

Hello Kitty birthday card

Here's a pretty simple birthday card, actually I guess all my cards are pretty simple, because after putting together the Hello Kitty, I was exhausted! The Hello Kitty is from a Sizzix die, paper pieced using PTI plum pudding cardstock and patterned paper from one of the paper pad collections. I tried paper piecing the whiskers on this one, it was a little easier since the Hello Kitty is rather large. She is supposed to be holding a "happy birthday" flower. I used a swirly border die for the stem. The sentiment is a Stampin Up stamp, plum pudding ink on sweet blush cardstock, don't know why I picked that color. And I don't know why the bitty dot paper looks like a slightly different color than the plum pudding cardstock, but they seem to match better in person. The background is lavendar moon cardstock cut from a Nestability label.

Copic Sale

I spent a good part of this morning placing my copic order at DCRU .  They are having a super sale and shipping is great too so I had to buy other things besides copic pens.  Yay!!!  I am so excited, I really can't wait to get my order.  She always has great sales! I haven't been too crafty lately which explains the neglected blog.  I have been buying stamps though just not able to play with them yet. Anyway, hope you get a chance to check out the sale!

Sweet Memories of Summer

This is a quick little card I made for my daughter's 1st day of school.  I was planning on entering it into a challenge over at A Crafty Little Place but somehow just got a bit too busy with preparing my daughter for school.  She was a little nervous even though she was going to be in the 4th grade this year. This little stamp is called Summer from the Honey line at C.C. Designs.  She's so sweet looking.  I paper pieced her little cap and bathing suit with PTI patterned paper.  I covered the bow on her cap with a little flower that was originally light pink and since I wanted it yellow, I just colored it with my copic pen.  The stamped sentiment is from TGF's Sunshine Kit.  My daughter has lots of fun at the beach.  We went right before school started again so I thought this image would remind her of all the fun she had this summer. Thanks for reading!  Have a great day!

Mini album, (part 3), the end

And here is the rest of it. The pictures weren't as easy to take the more mobile my daughter became so a lot of times there weren't that many to choose from. Plus I almost forgot to take photos some months. Again this is Beautiful Blooms 2, the die cut and matching stamp as well as the leaves. Changed it up a bit by putting the date in the flower. And used a different ink, the pink shimmery Brilliance one, just so it would show up better. Same thing for this one. I tried to add some diamond stickles to the flowers, it didn't really show up too well. Here are some felt flowers that Eva sent me a while back. I just added buttons. Couldn't find a button small enough for the tiniest flower. I think I might go back and punch a paper circle or something and stick it to the center so it matches the rest of the flowers. I got these flowers from the Creating Keepsakes Convention when I took an SEI class. It's from the Mimosa collection, happened to nicely match my dau
