Halloween cards

Hello!  It was a busy week so I did not really create very many new cards.  But I still have a back log of cards to share with you. I was looking through my stamps and I realized I never used this cute Lawn Fawn Trick or Treat stamp set.  It's one of their small sets and I really like that it's very nicely priced too.  I did a little bit of distress ink blending for the background and cut out the candy corn images, stamped the simple sentiment and was done.  A simple card for Halloween. Here is a batty version too.  Can you believe it will be Halloween soon?  I wish time would go a bit slower.  Maybe I could squeeze in more crafting. Thanks so much for stopping by!

mini note cards

Hello!  I just had to sift through my photos to see where I left off on blogging and sharing!  Today, I want to share these cute mini note cards I made using some Mama Elephant stamps.  I love their stamps and dies and just bought some cute stuff from them the other night to take advantage of their sale and free items with purchase.  Think I might have gone a bit overboard.  Sigh, might have to go on another stamp buying freeze. First set of note cards uses these cute ants and sentiments from Small Talk. Here's a closer photo.  These guys and sentiments are super fun.  My next set of note cards uses these cute emoji guys from Little Emotions.  I love that they come with little bodies!  So funny! A closer photo of this set. This is my last set of cards using the same emoji guys but no sentiments. These guys have such cute expressions. My boys have been on break this past week and I swear the week went by so fast!  Next week is gonna be busy again for us

Catching up again & a FREE shipping offer

Hello!  I am playing catch up again!  I have a bunch of cards to share today and probably the next few days as well.  I am falling behind blogging but the days are busy and sometimes I am just not feeling crafty if that is even possible.  I have to really push myself to get going these days and try to stay motivated.  So blogging tonight is part of trying to stay motivated! I've already sold this card but wanted to share cause I love these Birdie Brown images.  I am falling behind in collecting her new stamp sets but I will eventually get them!  The background is blended with distress inks onto watercolor cardstock. Here is a doggy version using another Birdie Brown stamp set. And last is the piggy one but this is a missing you card instead of an apology card.  Before I go, I want to mention that I am having a FREE shipping offer over at my Etsy store (banner on sidebar) with a minimum $12 purchase.  There is a code on the top of my store so please use that if your or

hats off to the graduate

Hi!  Well, this is like a record these days, posting 3 days in a row!  Time to share my third and final entry for MFT's Superstar Card Design contest . This card let me play around with MFT's Blueprints 30.  I wanted a different way to present gift cards which is why I purchased this set.  The first thing I did was stencil on some stars using MFT's horizontal starry sky stencil.  Yup, I have both the horizontal and vertical stencils.  I like them a lot for creating night time sky lines but they're also great just to create a star pattern.  Then I cut out my first piece on the left above.  I also wanted to cut out a bottom layer exactly the same but I didn't want the opened flap part so I did partial die cuts on all the edges (cut, rotate, cut, rotate) until I got the piece on the right. This set comes with a die that cuts the openings to hold a gift card.  The one on the left I didn't like because if you see closely you can see the imprint of the entir

go with all your heart

Hi again!  I was able to finish up another card last night to enter into MFT's Superstar Card Contest .  My second entry also features a cute piggy from Birdie Brown's Hog Heaven stamp set. Love this sweet image of him squeezing the heart.  There is a sentiment at the top which is very soft and subtle since I heat embossed it in white but I thought it was fitting for this image. The sentiment reads Wherever you go, go with all your heart.  It is also from MFT's Happy Graduation stamp set. I used distress inks to blend in a pink cloud background using the clouds from the End of the Rainbow die set.  Then I added in a shimmery cardstock rainbow and couple more clouds from the die set too. A close up photo of the piggy that I fussy cut out to adhere onto the cloud. I'm working on my 3rd card but not sure if it will work out.  Thanks for stopping by!

reach for the stars

Hello!  Well, it's been a gazillion years since I entered any kind of card making challenge or contest.  And when I actually first saw the announcement for MFT's Superstar Card Contest I was not going to participate.  But something clicked last night and all of a sudden I felt kind of competitive!  And did you see the prize they are giving out?  Wow, very generous!  So why not?  I'm gonna enter.  And I might even enter the max 3 times.  Who knows? So here is entry number 1. I love the Birdie Brown sets over at MFT.  So stinkin' cute!  And for a while I couldn't color up these cute piggies from the Hog Heaven set because I had run out of ink in a couple of my pink Copics.  But finally got the refills over the weekend so this all kind of worked out.  The little piggy with the angel wing, so adorable! The Reach for the Stars sentiment is from MFT's Happy Graduation set which I got when they had their huge retirement sale.  Piggies can have dreams too, yo

zodiac cards

Hello!  Happy September!  The year is going by really fast.  And I still have not started my fall or Christmas cards or calendars.  I know I really have to get on things and start completing my goals. Today I have a couple of birthday cards using Mama Elephant's Cosmic Stars set.  These images are so cute!  The first one is a Libra card.  The sentiments are from Mama Elephant's Starry Night set.  I blended the background with blue, purple & yellow distress inks and then used a star stencil and rubbed on those stars.  I added some glitter to the stars too. Here is a close up.  Yes, I fussy cut most of my images.  On this image I left the scales whole and just colored in the areas yellow to match the background.  The sentiment is heat embossed in a gold color.  Here is a Virgo card.  I used the same steps to create this card. I love how cute these images are.  I have to make all the other signs too!  That is on my to do list.  Plus I'm thinking these wou

what they said

Hello!  It's a rainy morning here.  I woke up last night because of lightning and thunder.  I don't know if I've even seen so much lightning as I have these past few months.  I'm just happy my youngest one didn't wake up and crawl into our bed.  He actually slept right through all the thunder.  I've had this stamp set by Mama Elephant called Three Amigos for a while now.  I even had these 3 critters all colored on my desk for a while too.  They finally made it onto a card!  I kept the background simple with some distress ink blending. I like the fun sentiments that come with this set too, especially the "what they said." Here's another view of the 3 amigos. Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I'll have more cards to share soon.

amigurumi polar bear

Hello!  Monday again!  I was worried about back to school traffic because more schools started today but it wasn't so bad.  It's actually Thursday I'm worried about because that's when my daughter starts and her school definitely adds to the traffic. Today I have a super cute project to share.  I love this pattern I found HERE .  It is also from the same blog as the star pattern. See the little white polar bear?  So adorable!  He is hanging out with the star and my new crochet hook and bent needle.  I love that bent needle too.  Such an amazing tool to help with sewing up loose ends and attaching those tiny ears and parts. Here is a better view.  I used safety eyes again.  And glued felt pieces for his ears and nose.  Usually he is sitting on my desk but I think my boys have taken him.  They love him too.  He is probably sitting in their room somewhere. Hope you are enjoying the day!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

amigurumi star

Hello again!  While I was on my crocheting binge, I came across this super cute blog HERE .  So many cute projects!  I decided to try the star pattern HERE . I used safety eyes instead of beads and made the mouth a bit larger.  I think it turned out cute.  I just would like to make more!  I don't know how people can crochet so many items.  It definitely takes a lot of time for me.  I think this would look so cute on a keychain. This is a short post today.  I'll be back later with another crochet project.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

amigurumi cupcake

Hello!  I have been crocheting a lot this summer.  I've made a few scarves, a wrap and some amigurumi.  But crocheting hurts my hand because I think I hold the yarn kind of tightly with my left hand especially when I make amigurumi.  I'm trying to not make the gaps between the stitches so big.  So recently I bought myself a Clover hook and that is so much better!  My hands don't hurt as much and I can crochet a lot longer.  Just need to buy them in all the different sizes but each one is a bit pricey.  Anyway, saw this super cute cupcake HERE .  She made them into pincushions and they all look adorable with their little faces.  I had to make one of these! Here is my version.  I placed poly pellets in the bottom of the cupcake so it could be more like a paper weight.  I added a small pom pom that I made and added clear seed beads on the top of the pink "frosting."  I added a tag too because we decided to give this cupcake to my son's teacher on the fi

NEW confetti!!!

Hello!  Just stopping by to share the latest shipment of confetti I just listed in my Etsy shop.  Please check them out if you're interested.  I love to mix and match my confetti when making shaker cards or tags.  All the confetti in this post are thin cut confetti.  These are iridescent hexagons.  It's a new shape to my shop.  Thought I would try something a little different plus I think they would be great for winter and Christmas shakers. Next we have these super pretty gold hearts!  Mostly I have a specific project in mind with these but I'm not even close to making it yet.  I guess most crafters are like that, having a million ideas in their mind. These are gold circles.  Love all these gold colored confetti. Then here is a white version.  Also great for those winter scenes. These are tiny 2mm iridescent round confetti.  I love these too! Next up is a new snowflake shape that I got in different colors.  These all measure slightly larger (6mm) than
