Altered handbag

Hi!  I was a bit bored this past weekend so I fiddled around on Blogger and finally figured out how to add tabs at the top of our blog.  So our blog got a little face-lift.  Hehe.  Anyway, I thought now would be a good time to start making some teacher gifts since I was lucky enough to find some alterable products at a local store for 75% off!  I should've bought more but I wasn't sure what the products would be like and even though they were really inexpensive, I didn't want to spend too much.  And iCopic's Weekly Challenge #71 is Anything BUT a card so I get to play along!  So this is what I bought.  It's from Kaisercraft.  I think it's made from MDF so it's pretty sturdy. I painted one set purple and another one pink though I will save the pink one for a different project.  I used acrylic paint that my husband has had for years too.  So this project will be fairly inexpensive.  Excuse the tofu container.  Tofu containers are pretty convenient for thi

Hi!  I think I'm getting faster at making cards.  It only took me a few hours during Saturday to finish this one.  Sometimes I take a couple of days to finish the cards/projects that are a bit more involved.  So again I'm playing along with TGF's SCS Saturday Sketch #5 .  Thankfully the sketch was more manageable for me this time. I took these photos at night so I'm thinking the lighting was not too good.  I decided to go with TGF's Elena, another stamp I hadn't inked up yet.  I love her clothes and hair and her *wink*.  I also used papers that I've had for a while and I can't quite remember the name of this company. I stamped the letters for wink using PTI's Simple Alphabet, cut them out and just kind of glued them without wanting them to be lined up perfectly.  I added some glossy accents to her sunglasses and bling too. I finally used some ribbons and flowers that I've had a for a while too.  There wasn't much critique of this card

Miss Anya Garland

Hi!  I finally have my own Miss Anya Garland set!  I'm so thankful and lucky to have won it from Rinne's blog during the giveaway by TGF.  These stamps are so pretty, probably my favorite Miss Anya set now.  So thought I'd play in TGF's Saturday sketch #4 over at SCS and it's been a while since I inked up some TGF stamps.  I don't know why but this sketch was difficult for me.  Maybe I was thinking too hard so I just simplified it and didn't go with too many layers. I chose to ink up Miss Anya with the hearts first.  Love her short hair and her chain of hearts!  Yeah, I colored her again in my favorite BG Copic combo (BG13, 15 & 18).  It's the only combo I have right now.  I also used TGF's Blush Heart, Blush Hello and Splotchy sets.  Sorry, I think this photo might be a little blown out.  I also added some stickles and glossy accents to the hearts.  She has some glossy accents on her headband too. Thanks for reading!

Fairwee Mia Wish

Hi!  Some time ago, I won a little blog candy from Amy Young and yes, I know it's taken me a long time to finally ink up little Fairwee Mia.  But I finally did and created a circle easel card for the following challenges: Flutter By Wednesdays #191 has an inspiration photo, All that Scraps Wednesday Challenge is to use a fancy fold, and Lollipop Crafts Challenge #68 is anything goes. I used Sweet November stamp Fairwee Mia and also the mushroom from CC Designs.  I used 2 stamps that I haven't inked up before so while I did purchase some digis recently, I'm still trying to get through to all my uninked stamps.  The Wish sentiment is from PTI's Tiny Tags set. This is how it looks opened.  I used clear cardstock for the front circle so Fairwee Mia can look like she is flying above the mushroom.  Though if you are like my hubby you will ask why is she trying to jump over the mushroom?  Sigh, because she's a fairy with wings and not a tiny little lady tryin

Kiki

Hi!  I just checked out Tiddly Inks new Wryns !  Oh so cute!  Especially that Whatcha Doin'? one.  Tempted again!  Man, this stamp diet is just as difficult as a food diet.  So hard to keep to it. Anyway, I made a little card to play along with iCopic Challenge #70--animals and the deconstructed sketch #39 .  I used Tiddly Inks Kiki.  It's a free one so I don't feel too bad and it's so cute!  I printed out a large one for my youngest one to color.  He was done in about a minute.  He drew grass and flowers too. It feels like I'm cheating a little since I didn't really color Kiki much but she's a Shih tzu.  Aren't they mostly white?  I just added in some cool gray colors with my Copics around the face and some along her body.  Hope that's OK since I still wanted to play along in the challenge.  Oh, the paw prints are from Paper Smooches Chubby Chums. Short post today.  Hope you all had a great holiday weekend!  Thanks for reading!

Thinking of you

Hi!  I've been kind of slacking with the house chores but it's Friday and I wanted to finish my card for iCopic Challenge #69 -- BG Family and Saturated Canary Challenge #11 -- Anything but square or rectangle .  I only have 3 blue green Copic pens but I love the colors!  I've been using them a lot since I bought them.  I don't know why it wasn't one of my first choices.  And I purchased a new Saturated Canary digi called Honey.  Okay, so no square or rectangle card.  I went with a heart.  I used my Cheery Lynn heart dies and man, pushing out all those little hearts can be a big pain.  But so worth it in the end.  Now I have tons of little punched out hearts all over my table.  And isn't Honey so pretty?  I love her hair!  Makes me want to grow my hair out again.  Oh yeah, it is a heart shaped easel card too.  Found lots of tutorials after Google-ing it.  Pretty simple. I kept the inside kind of simple cause I wanted the front to stand out more.  The sent

Spring bling

Hi!  Okay, so I cheated on my stamp diet.  I know, I'm so weak especially when there are so many cute stamps on my wish list.  I bought my first Wryn and actually my first ever Tiddly Inks stamp.  Wryn is so adorable that even though I'm not such a big fan of digis, I had to get at least one.  So  I decided to get Spring Bling cause I thought she would be a very versatile image great for any special occasion.  I have to also thank Christy because she was so quick and friendly when I had problems getting my links to the digis.  Great customer service! I decided to use the sketch over at Ribbon Carousel Challenge cause sometimes, well, most of the time, I think I'm design challenged.  I really admire folks that can crank out those sketches and create pretty cards.   I think this Wryn is so adorable!  I'll be entering this also in Tiddly Inks Challenge 80--Sparkle it Up! so I added some rhinestones in the corner and stickles on the flowers.  I bought a whole bunch o

My First Blog Award!

Hi!  Rachel was so thoughtful and sweet to think of sending me this blog award!  She creates the most fun cards and I love the way she colors hair!  We both have a love for TGF too!  Thanks, Rachel! Honestly, I've never heard of this award before but this sounds fun to acknowledge other bloggers that inspire you.  So I'm gonna just cut and paste what Rachel has on her blog post about this award.  Hope that is okay! These awards give small bloggers with less than 200 followers some well deserved recognition for their creations. Here are the rules: Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog. Link back to the blogger who presented the award to you. Copy and paste the blog award on your blog. Present the Liebster Blog Award to 5 blogs of 200 followers or less who you feel deserve to be noticed. Simple Valentine's Day Treats

Hi!  I wasn't feeling much like creating anything too complicated for my kids' classmates/teachers for Valentine's Day.  We just bought some candy for the kids and cute heart shaped boxes of See's Candies for the teachers.  I don't know, I was just feeling a bit lazy.  But my older son wanted to pass out pencils so okay, I guess I could do something with these pencils I bought from Walmart.  Pretty inexpensive, I think they were 99 cents for a 12 pack.  So I remembered this post about making foam pencil toppers, see HERE .  (You should check out the post, she even used cookie cutters to make imprints on the foam to cut out.  She had lots of fun ideas).  Pretty easy and fast and quick, and I had some leftover foam from my Angry Birds. I used MFT's heart die to cut out hearts in different colored foam.  The foam is pretty thin. After cutting the hearts out, I just held them in half and cut 2 slits with my scissors that were just big enough for me to slide the

Hi!  I've been really tempted these last few days to buy some new stamps especially some Saturated Canary or the cute Wryns from Tiddly Inks .  Usually I'm not too into digis, but these are so cute!  But I've been really good!  Been trying to use the stamps I've neglected or haven't even inked up yet.  But I hear new digis will be added to Saturated Canary's shop on Monday so we'll see how much longer this stamp diet will last.  I don't even know how long I should do this.  Maybe 'til I use at least every stamp I haven't used at least once?  I was in search of a sketch for my next card and so checked out the latest one at the deconstructed sketch (#38) . I finally used Ayako from Sister Stamps that I bought a while ago.  She's cute!  And I used my Hero Arts large canvas stripes stamp too on the kraft cardstock which I haven't used in a long while either. Ayako's hair is combination of Copics and my black Prismacolor pencil.  I

with Love ❤

Hi!  I was checking out Shirl's blog one day and saw this cute card she made with a cute digi (Canary Love) by Saturated Canary (Krista Smith).  I had seen the stamps around in blogland but I still have to stick to my no new stamps diet.  But Shirl was kind enough to provide the link to the digi in her post and it was free HERE !  So I thought I'd give it a try using the Deconstructed Sketch #37 .   I have to say that it was kind of challenging to color all that hair and even to the tiniest ends.  I must be a slow colorer cause it took me part of last night and most of the morning the next day to finish coloring her.  But I like it! Well, I know the digi is called Canary Love not Bluebird Love and I had the intention of coloring the bird yellow but somehow grabbed the wrong Copic and well, now I have a Bluebird.  But at least he matches her eye color.  I also added some glossy accents to the heart, rose, buttons and the red around her legs. I even crocheted a little hea
