Nymph Lucy

Hi!  I've been sick this whole week since I think I have the flu that my youngest had.  It literally kicked my butt and I had to sleep early every night like 8 or 9 and then sleep some more after dropping off the kids.  So even though I wanted to make this next card, it took me a while to put together.  This is for the following challenges:  iCopic Weekly Challenge #78 -- Spring Colors , Sweet Stampin' Pixies Challenge #2 -- Use Kraft ,  All That Scraps -- Anything Goes , and Anyone For Anya -- Sketch . I love the recent releases over at CC Designs, especially Nymph Lucy.  I don't know why but she's so darn cute.  If you've been a long time follower you would know that I had a hard time loving images that lacked a mouth.  It's because they could look spooky to some degree, couldn't they?  Like some scary horror story (Obake!).  So it even took me a while to use TGF's Miss Anya stamps.  Even my kids will notice that fir...

sweet baby

Hi!  Happy April!  The months are definitely flying by.  And the weather here is so nice today!  So much better than the rain and thunderstorms we had some time ago.  But I know in a few days I'll be complaining that it's too hot.  Hehe. Recently, I broke down and finally ordered the cute little elephant named Bella from Wild Rose Studio .  Just like how I did when I saw the cute penguin, Pickles last Christmas.  All of the Bella stamps are so adorable!  I picked Bella Sleeping for this card to play along with iCopic Weekly Challenge #76 -- For a Child and used All That Scraps sketch . Is she just the cutest little elephant ever?  She looks so soft and cuddly.  I also bought the matching Bella paper pad! I colored the image with Copics.  I also rubbed some chalk over the flowers and for the light blue sky which may be difficult to see.  The tiny tag and sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I don't even know anyone ...

best friends

Hi!  I really love the new Beans over at The Greeting Farm !  They are soooooo adorable with their little round bellies and fun hair!  I was wondering which one I should color first and use on a card when I saw the Best Friends sentiment from TGF's Flutter Heart set.  Then I knew I should put both of them on the card because they are Best Friends!  But what do I color them?  I knew I wanted one to have pink hair.  Then I saw iCopic's Weekly Challenge #73 -- V Family and so Glimmer Bean has purple hair!  I used the sketch over at TGF's SCS Saturday Sketch #7 to help me with the card. So here's Glimmer and Shimmer Bean!  I love how bright this turned out.  I have to say they were fast to color up and fun too.  I didn't want all the extra images that were around each of the beans so I just cut around my image leaving a tiny bit of white border.  I've had these paper scraps for a while and thought they fit them so nicely. ...

Altered handbag

Hi!  I was a bit bored this past weekend so I fiddled around on Blogger and finally figured out how to add tabs at the top of our blog.  So our blog got a little face-lift.  Hehe.  Anyway, I thought now would be a good time to start making some teacher gifts since I was lucky enough to find some alterable products at a local store for 75% off!  I should've bought more but I wasn't sure what the products would be like and even though they were really inexpensive, I didn't want to spend too much.  And iCopic's Weekly Challenge #71 is Anything BUT a card so I get to play along!  So this is what I bought.  It's from Kaisercraft.  I think it's made from MDF so it's pretty sturdy. I painted one set purple and another one pink though I will save the pink one for a different project.  I used acrylic paint that my husband has had for years too.  So this project will be fairly inexpensive.  Excuse the tofu container.  Tofu cont...

Kiki

Hi!  I just checked out Tiddly Inks new Wryns !  Oh so cute!  Especially that Whatcha Doin'? one.  Tempted again!  Man, this stamp diet is just as difficult as a food diet.  So hard to keep to it. Anyway, I made a little card to play along with iCopic Challenge #70--animals and the deconstructed sketch #39 .  I used Tiddly Inks Kiki.  It's a free one so I don't feel too bad and it's so cute!  I printed out a large one for my youngest one to color.  He was done in about a minute.  He drew grass and flowers too. It feels like I'm cheating a little since I didn't really color Kiki much but she's a Shih tzu.  Aren't they mostly white?  I just added in some cool gray colors with my Copics around the face and some along her body.  Hope that's OK since I still wanted to play along in the challenge.  Oh, the paw prints are from Paper Smooches Chubby Chums. Short post today.  Hope you all had a great holiday...

Thinking of you

Hi!  I've been kind of slacking with the house chores but it's Friday and I wanted to finish my card for iCopic Challenge #69 -- BG Family and Saturated Canary Challenge #11 -- Anything but square or rectangle .  I only have 3 blue green Copic pens but I love the colors!  I've been using them a lot since I bought them.  I don't know why it wasn't one of my first choices.  And I purchased a new Saturated Canary digi called Honey.  Okay, so no square or rectangle card.  I went with a heart.  I used my Cheery Lynn heart dies and man, pushing out all those little hearts can be a big pain.  But so worth it in the end.  Now I have tons of little punched out hearts all over my table.  And isn't Honey so pretty?  I love her hair!  Makes me want to grow my hair out again.  Oh yeah, it is a heart shaped easel card too.  Found lots of tutorials after Google-ing it.  Pretty simple. I kept the inside kind of simpl...

with Love ❤

Hi!  I was checking out Shirl's blog one day and saw this cute card she made with a cute digi (Canary Love) by Saturated Canary (Krista Smith).  I had seen the stamps around in blogland but I still have to stick to my no new stamps diet.  But Shirl was kind enough to provide the link to the digi in her post and it was free HERE !  So I thought I'd give it a try using the Deconstructed Sketch #37 .   I have to say that it was kind of challenging to color all that hair and even to the tiniest ends.  I must be a slow colorer cause it took me part of last night and most of the morning the next day to finish coloring her.  But I like it! Well, I know the digi is called Canary Love not Bluebird Love and I had the intention of coloring the bird yellow but somehow grabbed the wrong Copic and well, now I have a Bluebird.  But at least he matches her eye color.  I also added some glossy accents to the heart, rose, buttons and the red around her l...

Love ...

Hi!  Today's a new day.  I realize that I am not only a stress eater but a stress cleaner!  I finished off the chocolate covered almonds from Costco (I shared some too!) and managed to clean all our bedrooms, sheets, fans, carpets and did all the laundry too.  But I had to stop vacuuming because our vacuum just shuts off by itself.  It's been doing that everyday.  I vacuum a room and then it shuts off by itself!  Frustrating.  We need a new one. Well, I did manage to finish a card!  TGF is now having sketch challenges over at SCS! I chose to use TGF's Flutter Anya.  I haven't used this stamp very much so thought I'd give her some attention.  I've been trying to use stamps that I haven't even inked up yet before buying even more stamps.  My hubby said this card looked very busy.  I guess he is a clean and simple kind of card guy but sometimes I like to really embellish my cards. I chose to color her in varying shade...
