new shipment of confetti!

Hello!  I finally completed listing my latest bunch of confetti.  I received the latest confetti shipment about 2 weeks ago or so and now I'm done packing a few of each one, photographing each one and listing each one in the shop.  It's time consuming as I inspect them too! This one is a bit different from my other confetti.  These are thin cut green turtles!  I thought these would be fun and they are cute.  They are the largest confetti I have at about 6mm long.  Fun for summer and beach projects? I got these silver starfish to go along with the turtles!  They look like wonky stars.  I've added a light orange flower confetti in the store as well to go along with the other floral colors. Some bright orange hearts.  Pretty bright, huh?  Sometimes when I look at these there is a hint of pink but mostly I see orange. Silver hearts.  I love these hearts!  I've also added to the 2mm star collection.  I love these 2mm stars.  They are just the cutest s

thank you for always being there

Hello!  I made this card and listed it in my Etsy shop but forgot to share it here.  I used Mama Elephant's new stamp set called Cub Cuddles.  The images and sentiments in this set are just as cute as the ones in Bear Hugs.  I only made this one card with the set because I think I'm getting a little burnt out making cards!  But I do love this one and I love the background colors.  I used distress inks to blend in the background. There are tiny stars that were made with MFT's star stencil.  So happy I got the stencils cause it's a lot easier to make stars in the background with a stencil than stamping each one, which is how I used to make them.  I added Stickles to random stars. The Mom sentiment is from Lawn Fawn while the thank you sentiment comes with the Cub Cuddles set.  Oh, I also added some new confetti into the shop. Thin cut red apples.  For teachers and school related projects. Thin cut green apples. Thin cut silver bats. Thin cut

mother's day cards

Hello!  I have a couple of Mother's Day cards to share today.  I had a whole bunch of these Birdie Brown elephants colored up so thought I'd better get them onto some cards. And I got to use my Minc machine and do some foiling for the sentiments.  Overall, I think the Minc machine is not always a 100%.  Sometimes I'll have to just toss the sentiment cause the foil will be spotty in some areas.  I'm not sure if it's the brand of foil that makes a difference or not.  I've used both Deco foil and Heidi Swapp's foil and both will be spotty at times.  And maybe sometimes I like things to be perfect and maybe people won't scrutinize things the way I do and hold them up to the light and stare and look for imperfections.  But I think some people are just like me and will do exactly that.  I also do this with cardstock!  Especially white cardstock.  Before printing something I'll have to make sure the cardstock does not have any spots!  Cause some do and

sympathy card

Hello!  Is it cold and rainy where you are?  It is here and has been this whole day.  It makes me want to crawl back into bed and take a nice nap!  I have been feeling a little uninspired these past few days.  Maybe the weather has something to do with it.  Today, I have a sympathy card to share.  I had to make a few recently so I thought I'd add a couple to my shop too.  It's sometimes kind of sudden when you need a sympathy card and I like the idea of giving something that is handmade instead of store bought.  I stamped the sentiment from Winnie & Walter's the Big, Bold & Comfort.  I think this is the only set you'll need when you make sympathy cards!  It has literally so many word combinations you can make.  Once I stamped the sentiments, I went back in with my Copic multiliner to fill in the words so that it is nice and dark. The floral accent is also from a Winnie & Walter set called Addie's Blooms.  It is nice and simple.  I colored it in

birthday wishes

Hello!  I have another bear card to share today but this one is a birthday card. This card also uses 2 different stamp sets like the card I shared in the previous post.  The bears, birthday cake and sentiment are from Birdie Brown's Birthday Bears.  The tree stump and I heart you is from Lawn Fawn's Mom & Me set.  I placed the birthday cake on the tree stump because why wouldn't these bears use it as a table?  Haha.  And I love the little sentiments that fit in the heart on the tree.  So sweet. I made a lot of similar backgrounds for a number of cards.  That just helps me think of less card designs!  Plus once I have all the blending sponges and inks out, I might as well get a lot of use out of them.  I do use a light gray Copic to create a shadow to ground my image.  It's nothing fancy and I just do it real quick. I love these sweet bear scenes.  I'm also really excited to see the new bear images from Mama Elephant.  More mixing and matching! Hope

can't bear to be without you

Hello!  I am back today to share another card that I have listed in my Etsy shop.  It is another bear card but I love the bear trend too!  And the sentiments are so sweet! So these 2 bears are from Birdie Brown's Birthday Bears stamp set which is available from My Favorite Things.  The sentiments are also from that set.  The tree stump and the sentiment on the tree is from Lawn Fawn's Mom & Me set.  I was using both stamp sets making some cards when I realized the little bear would be cute sitting on the tree looking at the big bear.  And that's how I came up with this card. I love it when I can mix and match images/sentiments from different companies and stamp sets.  I created the background by blending some distress inks.  I think I need to invest in more colors but really if you're on a budget you really don't need many colors, just the basics to create a background. I used a Spellbinder's circle die to make a template for the sun.  The images

wishing you tons of fun

Hello!  I love these fun elephant puns and I love the cute elephant stamps companies seem to be designing these days.  It makes is easier to mix and match images and sentiments.  I love this image from Wild Rose Studio!  It's called Bunch of Balloons and it was on my wish list since its release.  I finally got it when it went on sale online.  Yay!  Super cute, right?  The sentiments are from two different Birdie Brown sets, Adorable Elephants and Birthday Bears. I blended Distress Inks on watercolor paper to make the background.  I like how the colors look on the texture of watercolor paper when blended.  I couldn't find my blender tool so I had to improvise by using an empty thread spool and double stick tape to stick the blending foam on.  But it worked!  I love how the background turned out. I also made the clouds by just cutting freehand some rounded bumps and used it as my template.  The elephant and balloons were stamped on Xpress it cardstock and colored with

craft fair tomorrow!

Hello!  Just dropping in real quick to mention that I'll be at my first craft fair of the year tomorrow, Sunday, April 3rd at the NBC Hawaii Suites.  I am still in the process of trying to finish some cards!  At some point real soon, I think I will give up.  Maybe after I make 4 more cards.  I think that is the most I can handle and still price everything and print out some signs and such.  It took me a week or so to pack up all my confetti!  I ended up sorting through some so that's why it took me so long.  It's not just scoop and pour into a baggie although I wish they all were like that. Here they are all packed!  I must say I love that they look so organized!  I bought these Ziplock containers, I think they are 9x6 inches.  I cut some chipboard and scored them to the right sizes to make little dividers between each row.  Hopefully, that will make it easier to sort through them.  Some cards I was able to finish last night and this morning.  I love this little ele
