Sister Stamps Release #24 -- Anuhea

Hi again!  Continuing with previews for Sister Stamps today.  Since it is Sister Stamps ' 3rd birthday, I thought it would only be fitting to make a birthday card.  I think these shave ice kiddos are perfect for birthdays. My birthday card features Anuhea and her yummy shave ice.  The sentiment is from CC Designs and it is heat embossed in white on Lawn Fawn's journal die cut.  Cute papers are from Doodlebug. Here's a close up of Anuhea with her pink plumeria. Please visit our Guest DT and the regular Sister Stamps DT. Sister Stamps Release #24 -- Anuhea & Ekahi

Hello!  It's another day of Sister Stamps previews.  Today I'm sharing a card featuring both Anuhea & Ekahi.  I think this is my favorite card for this release.  I love that it is bright and fun.  I used water color cardstock with gelatos.  I drew in the sand with my black Copic multiliner and then colored it in with Copics.  On top of that, I rubbed on some gelatos in varying colors and blended them in with water.  I let that all dry and added Anuhea and Ekahi.  I had a different layout in mind originally but that meant I had to buy more crafty stuff.  In the end I just went with what I had for the sentiments.  The hello is heat embossed in white using PTI's alphabet stamps and the summer is from Lawn Fawn.  Then I added some Doodlebug sequins. Here is a close up of the two.  I love Anuhea's flower.  I wanted it to look like a plumeria.  I love yellow and pink plumerias.  Maybe I should've made this one both colors.  Next time. As usual, please che

Sister Stamps Release #24 -- Leilani

Hi everyone!  Welcome to Sister Stamps Release #24 previews.  This release will also mark Sister Stamps 3rd birthday!  Yay, and congratulations to Jenny and her sister, Denise!  Hopefully you have been following up with Jenny's introductions of these 3 new shave ice kiddos.  Today, I'll be sharing a card I created with Leilani. Leilani has the saddest face ever!  Isn't this the saddest thing when your yummy treat falls to the ground?  So sad.  I haven't personally done this and my kids haven't either but I can imagine how she's feeling and don't we all have times when we're totally bummed like this?  Leilani would be perfect for a Cheer Up or Feel Better kind of card.  But she reminded me of the Keep Calm sayings that are around these days.  I found a free Keep Calm font, made my own sentiment and turned it into a shaker card with Doodlebug sequins.  Here's a close up of sad but sweet Leilani.  Please be sure to visit our talented Guest D

Flutter Anya

Hello!  How's summer going?  It's been kind of lazy for me but I did craft!  And I actually made something to enter into a challenge.  It's been a long while since I joined in on TGF's Farm Fresh Friday so I thought I'd do the current one Make Your Own Background .  I have been playing around with Faber-Castell's Gelatos to make some backgrounds.  These are so easy to use and can be less messy.  I was going to just rub some gelatos around on a piece of water color cardstock but then I noticed I still had this blank canvas I bought a while ago on sale.  So thought I'd use that to make something pretty and hang around my crafty desk or somewhere. I used a 5x7 canvas and rubbed some pink, purple, blue and gold Gelatos on it.  Then I took the brush the Gelatos come with and added some water to blend the colors together.  I had to wait until everything was dry before I could glue stuff onto the canvas.  I used TGF's Splotchy and Blush Heart in the back

kero kero keroppi!

Hello!  I don't know what it is about summer but it sure makes me feel lazy.  Well, I guess it's because we don't have such a strict routine of activities and the kiddies haven't started summer school yet and the hubby is on vacation this week too.  We went to the beach one day and drove around to see the sights today and ate out a little and celebrated my little one's birthday too.  And I got a long nap today too so yeah, I've been feeling lazy.  But my youngest one has a birthday party to go to soon so I thought I'd make another little coin purse to hold a giftcard.  I have some Keroppi fabric so thought that would be cute for the birthday girl.  This coin purse has a D-hook ring attached to it. The inside is lined with some matchy green and I used a green zipper too so that it looks more fun.  I sewed everything with a light pink thread for a little bit of contrast.  I don't know if you can tell but the coin purses I've been making have

my adventures in sewing

Hello everyone!  Hope you were able to grab your own set of Sister Stamps June release today.  Today I wanted to share about my newest hobby, sewing!  I was spending a lot of time learning how to sew and just trying to get used to my sewing machine that I think I forgot how to color with Copics and how to make cards.  Card making does require some practice!  But so does sewing. Anyway, I've always wanted to sew but I guess I was a bit lazy and maybe a bit scared to try.  What it really took was making something that looked not so great that got my perfectionist side to learn to sew.  I bought those Papertrey Ink Coin Purse Dies because in theory it looked simple and cute too but in actuality I couldn't stand how the stitching looked around the zipper.  It drove me kind of crazy and I tried to figure out a way to hide the ugly stitching on the inside. This is the coin purse I made using the PTI dies.  The fabric is cute right?  And the outside stitching I guess is okay
