Bubbles

Hi!  I finally get to post this card!  My internet connection has been so unreliable today.  But I guess the good thing is I got a lot of chores and housework done.  My middle one goes back to school tomorrow!  His last week of vacation just flew by.  I made this card a few days ago for Saturated Canary's Challenge #22 -- black and white plus one other color .  I wanted to try another black and white card after the Wryn card I made. When I purchased this digi, I thought she was called Glinda but now when I check out the SC store, it's called Bubbles.  Well, whatever she is called, I think she is so pretty!  Obviously, I went with black and white plus pink. Okay, I need to cut this post short.  Thanks for reading!

sending you smooches!

Hi!  Time for TGF's sketch challenge over at SCS .  Melissa created a fun circle card sketch! I used Amelia from the Lovey Dovey set!  She is so sweet!  I used a doily and Spellbinders nestabilities. Hope you get a chance to play along!  Challenge details HERE ! Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

TGF's Farm Fresh Friday -- Dies and/or punches!

Hi!  I'm hosting my first Farm Fresh Friday today!  So because I just did that border die tutorial, I thought I'd keep the same theme of using dies and/or punches. I used the Lovey Dovey set to create this little project.  I'm not even sure what to call it!  I used the Doohickey Tilda lace border die to cut out some tissue paper that looked kind of like lace and wrapped it around the edge of the heart diecut (from Cheery Lynn).  I wanted it to look like Amelia's little heart in her hair.  I crocheted the little red heart and attached a ribbon to the top so you can hang it up.  The sentiment also comes with the set and it's heat embossed! A close up of the happy couple. There is a little box in the middle of the 2 hearts.  I don't know, maybe for a small treat or a little note for someone? I will make a little tutorial for the tissue paper lace too.  But please head over to The Greeting Farm's blog to check out more inspirati...

hb2u -- part 1

Hi!  I have a quick tutorial up over on Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts blog.  Please click HERE to check it out! I'm using Papertrey Ink's scalloped border die again but this time to make a banner.  Next week Wednesday I'll be sharing what is inside the card.  It's a FUN giftcard holder so come back to check that out too. Thanks for reading!

somebunny loves you

Hi!  Woohoo, another day, another card and another post!  Yes, my kids are all done with summer school!  No more crazy driving schedule so it's been a bit more relaxing.  I stayed up later than usual to finish this card for Tiddly Ink's Challenge #91 which is a sketch and MarkerPop's Challenge #3 which is Black & White or Sepia .  I think this is my very first time coloring an image totally black and white.  I wasn't going to participate in the challenge cause I was nervous coloring but thought I should give it a try and jump right in.  And I think I like the results so I may try it again. I printed out Tiddly Ink's Somebunny loves you Wryn and sentiment.  Then just colored with my cool gray and black Copics.  I didn't think I'd use the bunny and carrot Doodlebug papers but glad I saved them.  I used my Perfect Layers rulers to mat the papers and the sentiment too. I added some Stickles to Wryn's bunny ears, hair pin and...

stop and smell the flowers

Hi!  I wasn't crafting as much last week so thought I'd better do something over the weekend.  I finally printed out Some Odd Girl's Giggle Fairy that I got during SOG's facebook fun day.  Such awesome deals and tutorials that day!    I followed SOG's current sketch challenge but went with a simple version of the sketch.  I don't know, I may have been too lazy to look for paper to match but did find this colorful scrap banner (PTI die).  The sentiment is from another SOG stamp, Smell the Flowers Tia that I heat embossed. I heat embossed the flowers (from SOG's Renew set) and also used The Greeting Farm's Splotchy set to create a border around Giggle Fairy.  I used my Perfect Layers rulers just for the yellow rectangle layer.  I'm liking the pops of color with kraft cardstock and still into my heat embossing! Thanks for reading!

TGF's Farm Fresh Friday--Summer Time!

Hi!  Time for TGF's Farm Fresh Friday .  The theme this week is Summer!!  I decided to use the cutie from TGF's Sunshine Kit to create this beachy scene.  That felt starfish is the one I created from my previous tutorial HERE .  I used self-adhesive cork paper for sand.  It adds such a nice texture! Hope you'll all have to time to play along!  Visit TGF's blog for all the challenge details and see more cards by the Showcase DT! Thanks for reading!

TGF's Tutorial Tuesday: Felt Embellishments with Border Dies

Hi!  This is my first ever Tutorial Tuesday for The Greeting Farm!  Holy smokes!  Who thought I'd ever make it onto that DT?!  It's just amazing! Onto my tutorial!  This is kind of an extension to a tutorial I did some time ago using felt and dies to make your own embellishments.  See HERE if you're interested in seeing that original post.  But that got me to wondering what other kinds of embellishments I could create with felt and different border dies.  So I experimented and came up with the samples below. This is basically how I created all of these felt embellishments.  First, cut your felt with your border die.  In this case, I am using felt from Papertrey Ink and a Magnolia Doohickey border die.  When I cut felt with my Big Shot, I use a shim but nothing fancy.  It's just a piece of scrap Papertrey Ink cardstock.  The shim helps to give it a cleaner cut. Sew through the felt like above and then pull both e...

Do Si Do Anya Thank You

Please click HERE for Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts Blog Hop post! Hi!  Showcase Farmer Shaela has a great new sketch for you this week on The Greeting Farm's Splitcoaststampers forum . I decided to ink up Do Si Do Anya .  Isn't she the cutest??  I used some Doodlebug paper and my Perfect Layers rulers again for the layers.  The lace ribbon is from Ribbon Carousel.  And the pink felt embellishment was made by me!  That's a little hint for my upcoming TGF tutorial debut coming up soon! And yeah, more heat embossing!  Hehe.  I used TGF's Blush Thanks for the background.  I colored up Anya with Copics and thought I'd make her dress a little colorful and fun since I couldn't really decide what color to make her dress.  Why not make it all rainbow? I hope you'll play along with this sketch this week.  Click HERE for all the challenge details! Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!...

TGF's Farm Fresh Friday: Pink Lemonade

Please click HERE for Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts Blog Hop post! Hi!  It's time for TGF's Farm Fresh Friday !  The theme this week is Pink Lemonade!  Just use pink and yellow as your color combo on your projects!   I used the very cute and adorable Glisten Bean !  I thought she would look so good with pink hair!  I did a lot of layers on this one with my Perfect Layers rulers !  Layered a doily in between too!   For this card, I heat embossed all the white background first.  I stamped Glisten Bean on X-press it blending cardstock and colored her in with Copics, then cut her out.  I glued the image over the embossed kraft cardstock.  She really stands out that way.  Then I added some rhinestones. I know, I am really making use of my heat gun!  I think I need different colors to emboss with.   Okay, please be sure to check out the other Showcase DT's creations, and join in on the P...

TGF's July Retro-Fresh

Hi!  Me again!  It's time for TGF's monthly Retro-fresh challenge !  The challenge for July is Stars and Stripes but it doesn't have to be the usual Red, White and Blue.  Just as long as there are Stars and Stripes on your project, you're good to go. I decided to use Space Ian and make a bit of an interactive card. I printed out the sentiment.  I thought it would be fitting for Ian to actually move back and forth between the Moon and Earth. Behind Ian are 2 beads and he glides on the twine. Colored up Ian with Copics.  Added glossy accents to the heart on his flag.  The star print paper is from Basic Grey's Shine On paper pad which Cheryl got for me.  Thanks, came in handy! The prize for this month is a biggie too!  One 4x6 rubber set and one clear set!  Be sure to use a TGF stamp that is at least 6 months old.  Click HERE for a list.  You have until August 7th at NOON to enter.  That's a whole month awa...
