Aloha!

Hello!  Happy Saturday!  I have plans to finish a couple cards today.  That is my goal, to finish at least a card a day.  I don't know if I can actually do that but I'll try.  But of course, it's also laundry day.  Bleh.  I finished these Aloha cards the other day.  This is Sister Stamps Pua and Kaleo.  I think Aloha says it all.  It seems to be an all inclusive sentiment, great for any occasion. Here is Pua.  I added the white Sharpie dots on her dress too.  I like using the white Sharpie better than other white gel pens that kind of fade or don't write too well.  The white Sharpie is a paint pen and I ordered it online from Taylored Expressions.  I don't know if that is the best deal but since I was putting an order through them anyway, I added the Sharpie. Here is Kaleo.  He is kind of patriotic looking with his red, white & blue outfit. Well, I am off to do the first load of laundry.  T...

Doctor cards

Hello!  I made three doctor or medical related cards today so I felt really productive.  But of course it's not just making cards anymore.  There's the photo taking, photo editing, then listing and then promoting.  I finally feel like I have a process of card making and listing on Etsy.  Oh, and then there is the packing and printing and taking packages to the post office.  I am so grateful my kids' school is near the post office but I wonder if the post office employees are tired of seeing me.  I go to a small one that's only open a few hours a week. All three cards were made using Altenew's Doctors Rule stamp set.  I made a similar one to this a while ago and since it finally sold, I made another one.  But this one doesn't have the giftcard holder on the the inside already included like the original.  The stethoscope is heat embossed in gold.  And I tidy up the stamping of the sentiment with my Copic multiliner. So while I...

a bubbly i heart you

Hello!  So does it seem like a slow week?  I can't help but think it is after hearing my hubby suggest it.  The power of suggestion!  Can't he say something that will make me more productive?  Sometimes I need motivation to finish up my projects.  What motivates people to get up and blog every day?  I don't think I have enough projects to blog each day.  I do have a list of things to do but finding that push to finish them is difficult. Here is my latest card using My Favorite Things Adorable Elephants again.  That is the most appropriately labeled stamp set, isn't it?  The elephant images in this set are truly adorable.  I had this idea in my head that this particular elephant would be blowing bubbles from his trunk.  I didn't quite know how I would do this since I didn't have any bubble stamps!  I thought maybe I could use a bubble font and print it out?  But in the end I just drew them out. I made the backg...

mahalo!

Hello!  Feeling a little sleepy while I type.  I think it's the dark and gloomy weather this morning.  I finished up a couple of mahalo (thank you) cards last night. This is Sister Stamps Pua and I think she is such a versatile image.  I made Xmas cards with her also.  And she would be great on birthday cards too. I added some white dots on her dress to resemble flowers using my white Sharpie.  And then the cards were all done.  These will be added to the shop as a pair cause you can never have enough thank you cards. Thanks so much for stopping by!

mama, papa & baby bear

Hello!  I have a set of 3 cards to share today.  I used a stamp set from Mama Elephant called Bear Hugs.  I love the sentiments that come with this set.  The sentiments and images together are so sweet! Here is the first one.  This one is for a mama bear.  I used distress inks to watercolor the background.  Then I fussy cut the bears and the honey pot.  I stamped the tiny bees directly onto the watercolored background and colored them in lightly with Copics.  Also added some Stickles to their wings and added Glaze onto the honey spilling out of the pot. This one is also for a mama bear.  Some process with this card as well. This is the last one but for a papa bear.  I'm thinking that the papa bear is reading the sentiment while the baby bear is playing with the bee. Thanks so much for stopping by!

A different kind of I heart you

Hello!  I made a card today that is a bit different from the cards I usually make.  I've been wanting to make a card with Altenew's Doctors Rule stamp set.  I only had used the set to make a couple of graduation cards.  And I really wanted to use the big anatomical heart image in the set.  It stamps so nicely!  So I looked at all the sentiments and there was an I and a you so then I heart you came to mind. But in the end I didn't use the stamps for I and you because stamping them straight and really bold black was a little tricky.  I ended up using my computer and printing the I and you and then stamping the red heart in the middle.  A simple design but I used up a bit of scratch paper and a couple sheets of my good quality cardstock!  I really like this card! I don't know why but my kids thought the heart was a little gross.  I think it looks kind of neat.  Look at all the details that stamped so cleanly! I finished up my...

I love you (a ton)

Hello!  My 3 kids all went back to school today after a long 4 day weekend.  Already a 4 day weekend when they just had winter vacation???  Why do schools do that?  I think my kids were getting bored too already and started acting a bit loud and crazy.  Thank goodness for some peace and quiet today. Today, I'm gonna share another card I made using the super cute elephant set from My Favorite Things.  I actually made 2 cards but on the first card I just couldn't get over how using dies to cut out the smaller images made them look like stickers.  It kind of reminded me of those sticker books I used to buy my kids.  The ones that have a scene and then you can fill in the scene with stickers.  Here is the first card.  The flowers and butterfly especially look like stickers to me.  But I love the background and everything else about it.  I'm not sure what I'll be doing with this card yet. Decided to redo the card and cut t...

I'm having a SALE on ETSY!

Hello!  Maybe one of my New Year's resolutions should be to blog more regularly again.  I should also add on exercising again, and following a budget better.  I am trying not to spend so much on too much crafty things. Anyway, I am having a 10-15% off sale on ETSY.  Please check it out if you're interested (link on the sidebar).  I've already adjusted the prices in the sale section.  I even added some new calendars that I just finished up. I used Mama Elephant's Lunar Animals and Taylored Expressions calendars to make these.  On a side note, did you know that there was an error on the TE calendars????  They contacted me via email because the number of days on November and December was incorrect!  Anyway, it is a good thing that it took me a while to finish these because I was able to use the correct months.  But I'm wondering about all the people that didn't buy these directly from TE.  How would they know? Here's the cove...

Happy 2016!

Hello!  Oh, it has been a while since I last posted.  December was busy with lots of Christmas activities and crafting.  Then we went on a vacation and I closed up my Etsy store for a couple weeks.  I have been trying to get back into crafting but feel like I need to recover from vacation!  The only thing I really love about traveling is not having to cook or wash dishes.  That was the best! Here are some projects I didn't get a chance to blog about. I made this fabric basket for our cousin's baby.  I was happy that the diapers fit so nicely in this basket! Also made this little tutu.  I switched out the stuffed animal later since the bear belongs to one of our kids.  Just wanted to see the fit.  This was quick and easy to make. Oh, I also won some cute prizes from Stacey Yacula Studio !  She designs some amazingly cute stuff!  She has a wide range of products for sale too and an Etsy store . Also won this sup...
