Hello! So I probably do this often. Like think about joining in on a challenge but actually not do anything until the last minute. I spent almost the whole day yesterday coloring up the images and thinking about the layout for a Clean and Simple Card. What a misnomer! CAS cards are sometimes not that simple and if you saw my crafting area, it's not very clean either. But finally done today to enter my card into My Favorite Things Card Design Challenge.
I made a baby girl card using MFT's Cuddly Koalas. I stamped the koala image, colored with Copics and fussy cut them out. Now that I have old eyes, it's hard to color in the tiny details and even cutting is getting difficult. Why do our eyes have to get old too?
I used MFT's Blueprints 25 for the stitched background which is the perfect size of an A2 card. Love it! I used watercolor cardstock for the background because I love how the texture looks when blending. I stamped the tree image right onto the watercolor cardstock and colored with Copics and after used some colored pencils for more details. I had a difficult time deciding if I wanted to curve the sentiment on this card or use it straight. But decided I wanted a different look so went with the curve. I used distress oxide in worn lipstick for the background and sentiment.
Here's a close up of the image. I did also fussy cut that branch (in mama koala's hand) out and the small leaves that are falling down! I masked the larger branch when I blended the pink background but there was no way I was gonna do that for all the leaves! So pretty much I just lightly blended over the colored green leaves and some of the thinner branches. Still looks okay to me!
Maybe next year I'll be on it and enter more than one category but I think that's it for me this year. Thanks so much for reading and visiting today!
