Happy Day Beach Day

Edit:  Yay!! Found out my layout won!  So very excited!  Makes me want to craft some more.  If only there was more time in a day.

Wow, long time no post I think.  I was trying to finish up some projects when I realized that this beach themed scrapbook challenge at The Greeting Farm was ending today.  Normally, I don't do many scrapbook pages but I just got this super cute sea life themed paper yesterday from All That Scraps.  So I dug out this old picture of my daughter dated 2004--not even a digital print!

I used the photo as the backing and made a shaker box filled with sun confetti and and beads.  I also punched out some of the cute faces of the sea animals and put them in too.  The "sun" at the top has a starfish in the middle and is covered with a dome epoxy sticker.  I think it's supposed to be a sunflower from the Hope and Grace stamp set but I like to use it as a sun.  I die cut the yellow felt flower with PTI's Beautiful Blooms die set.

I altered Hope/Grace (I still don't know who is who) with Dress Me Anya's body and changed the bathing suit to match my daughter's one.  I stuck on some letter stickers inspired by one of the sentiments in Oliver & Amelia's stamp set "Happy Day."  I stamped it in the bottom right corner too.  It might be difficult to see.  I was only intending to stamp it once to complete my journaling but it was a little too high so I stamped it a few more times to make it look like it wasn't an accident.  But I still like the way it turned out.

I think I'm beginning to like scrapbooking like this.  Before I wanted to scrapbook events only in chronological order which is why I kind of stopped because I haven't even done my kids' first years yet.  It's kind of how I like to clean too--I have to follow a certain order, my desk, crafting table, then bathroom, then the kitchen, etc.  I know I must have some kind of disorder, hahaha.  I'll try to scrapbook more random events.  Well, thanks for reading.  Have a "Happy Day!"

So cute! I like the matching swimsuits! Yeah, same here with the kiddie scrapbooks. So I tried to move on to smaller more finite albums, like end of year recap things for the grandparents. Or trip/vacation ones...although Disneyland is looking like it's gonna take a while. The blog looks nice! The rectangles look good.

nuts and bolts

Hello!  Today I'll be sharing the last amigurumi I made during my crochet frenzy.  I haven't been crocheting much recently except for this one little project I'm kind of procrastinating with.  I really do love this last one because I think it came out really cute. This is a little crocheted robot designed by Bubblegum Belles .  You can find the pattern HERE .  Sometimes I purchase the patterns especially if they are really cute.  But a lot of designers do list their patterns for free too on their blogs so I always check to see if they have a blog or not.  It's also important to read their pattern listing too if you are purchasing to see whether they are for personal use or also for commercial use.  Here is a different view of him.  Happy that he is able to sit on his bottom.  I actually cut out 2 felt hearts using a heart die, blanket stitched them together, and then hot glued the heart to the robot.  I tried stitching one h...

Roxie Recently, I saw these layering tags dies and thought I really wanted those.  I love the look of layered tags so I used my Perfect Layers rulers to make some with My Mind's Eye Happy Haunting papers. I have a tag die from Papertrey Ink so I used that as my smaller tag.  I glued that tag onto kraft cardstock and used my ruler to cut a 1/8th inch border aro...

Snowman gift card holder

Hi!  I was planning to post this last night but I was just too tired to write or think of complete sentences.  It's been a busy week with the boys on Fall break and still trying to finish up a bunch of crafts.  I have been trying to make some crocheted crafts to put in my Etsy shop and finally I'm done with one.  It's a crocheted snowman that can hold a gift card or anything actually that is small enough to fit in the pouch.  The pattern is designed by ChiWei Ranck of One Dog Woof and can be found HERE . Here's the little snowman with his arms folded over in the front to look like he is hugging the card.  I added this fun card that I stamped.  You can definitely add in a gift card too behind this card. The gift card reaches under his nose. This is how the little opening of the pouch looks.  I hope I can make more of these little guys.  These would be so cute for teachers and I think it would be easy to put a little wire throug...
