wishing you good fortune

Hello all!  It's a pretty dark and rainy morning today.  Hoping we get some sunshine soon because we have plans to be outdoors later.

Today I have another cute amigurumi to share.  I used a pattern by lalylala.  She's got a very unique style for sure and I love her imagination.  She has an Etsy store too HERE.  I decided to try her maneki neko pattern which comes in her New Year's Eve pattern set.  It is really cute!

He's only a few inches tall and fits in my hand.  I used Lion Brand's 24/7 cotton yarn with a 2.0mm hook.  I did have to do his legs a couple times to get it right and almost did give up but happy I got to finish him cause he is really cute.

He has a tail and that actually helps to prop him up a bit because he doesn't stand on his own two feet!  Changing yarn colors in this pattern was not too difficult either once you get the hang of it.

I like his paw that is raised inviting good fortune.

I made a tag for him too using stamps from Mama Elephant.  This tag didn't take me as long as the octopi one, thank goodness!

By the way, my 2018 calendars are on sale if you're interested.  Thanks for stopping by!

Knuffle Bunny

Hi!  The Greeting Farm had their Customer Challenge & Chit Chat Night "A Night at the Bookstore" and introduced a few challenges.  I have to say chatting was too fast for me and I couldn't really keep up.  It was still early here, and I had to pick up the kids from school and activities and make dinner and eat and so I guess the timing didn't really work out with our schedule. You can check out the challenge details on the SCS forum HERE.  I made this card for Favorite Child's Book category.  It is based on the Mo Willems book Knuffle Bunny.  It's one of my kids' favorites and it's such a cute story.  We actually love reading Mo Willems' books especially his Elephant and Piggie series.  Those books are hilarious!  This challenge also made me realize that I haven't read many books recently except kids' books.  I used to love reading but just haven't given it much time lately.  Anyway, here is my card.

If you've read the story, yo…

August 2012

Hi!  We had a short black out this morning and I didn't know what to do without my computer and internet, and I couldn't go blog surfing.  I was sad but I did cut everything out for my kids' Halloween goody bags.  Good thing my Big Shot isn't electric.

Anyway, I made another page to my 2012 calendar/scrapbook using MFT's sketch #39 and Pure Innocence Year of Flowers series Poppy.

Here's my page.  Somehow I'm not loving this one too much.  I love the image but somehow the colors remind me of fall too much and not too summery.  And I think the proportions are a bit off.  But I decided to just stick with it.  It's still cute.

Here's a picture of both pages.

I'm gonna have to wait til I order the next couple months to continue.  But I'm happy I've made it this far!

The kiddies are home for fall break.  It's nice but messy and noisy.  It may be a long week.

Thanks for reading!

I need to catch up!

Hello!  I've been neglecting my blog!  And I don't want to do that since we've put a lot of work into posting these past years.  But just some days don't have much energy to take photos and then blog.  This is my catch up post.  Sharing some cards I've made this summer which isn't a lot because summer seemed to be a busy time with the kiddies.

I made a few pet sympathy cards using Taylored Expressions Care & Comfort.

Just used a very simple design since I like keeping sympathy cards minimal.

I love Lawn Fawn's punny sentiments!  So I got this one called Stinkin' Cute.  I paired it with the tree stump from the Mom & Me set.  I have some other punny ones that I haven't even inked up and colored yet.  I have to get going on making more cards!

Here is another Lawn Fawn one.  I've had this stamp set, Life is Good, for so long and didn't use it until this past month or so.  He's such a cute crab!

This is the last card I've made rec…
