You Make the Grade

Hi!  My Favorite Things has weekly challenges too!  I've been wanting to play along and finally got a chance with this week's sketch. Here's my card!  Stamp is Pure Innocence You Make the Grade.  I wanted to find a new stamp for cards for my kids' teachers and thought this was super cute.   I cut the red doily using MFT's Die-namics die out of felt.  I love all this doily stuff!  I used copics to color her board and stamped the sentiment using PTI's fresh snow.  It came out kind of light so I wrote over it with my white gel pen. My bow--I hardly ever make bows on my cards.  I didn't really on this card either.  I just tied some baker's twine around after I made the loops and added the flower shaped button ( Stampin' Up from Sunghee ).  So I cheated a little.  Ribbon is from PTI. All cardstock is PTI and papers are from October Afternoon's Schoolhouse.  I don't know why but I really love all school themed products ...

Laundry Day

Hi!  Before I get into this card I wanted to congratulate Cheryl on winning the Club Anya & Friends Saturday Sketch from last week.  Yay!  I guess maybe some people who visit our blog don't realize that Cheryl and I share this blog and we both post projects.  Well, back to the card.  I made it for CAF Mystery Monday mostly because I am doing what Cheryl is doing and trying to ink up all my unused stamps.  TGF's Laundry has been sitting in my box for some time now just like our real laundry that's in the living room right now waiting to be folded.  I know how she feels.  With the 5 of us, we have a ton of laundry.  Sometimes I think I'm washing clothes every day!  I bought the DP just for this stamp too.  It is from My Little Shoebox and I cut the little birdie out from a different DP from the same line. I was a little worried that it would look like the birdie is pecking at her head.  Hahaha.  I did get to play w...

Motivation Calendar

Hello!  I made this calendar which came with Sunghee's calendar template HERE from her Little Potato House store.  I love this layout and I love that it has that little box at the top.  It also comes without the box too.  The stamp is Rachelle Ann Miller from Paper Works Co.  It's our duck family.   Motivation is stamped with PTI's Outline Alphabet set.  Clouds are masked with PTI's clouds die. Anyway, this is supposed to help motivate me to exercise!  Last year I tried to keep up with exercising and I thought I did pretty well in the beginning that is.  After about 2-3 months though, it started to fizzle out and then I got all sluggish again.  I really don't know how people can work out and actually put that into their daily routine.  So I started again about 3 weeks ago but I can't exercise everyday.  I just don't like it and I can't imagine having to do it forever to maintain a healthy weight.  Plus I just want ...

Happy 4th Birthday!

So here's another card based on the Saturday Sketch over at the Club Anya blog . I know, I keep doing Saturday sketches, I feel like I should mix it up at some point, but these conveniently come out on the weekend which is when I do my card making. Anyhow, this is My Favorite Things Amelia. I'm slowly working through my new stamps, I'm hoping I can stamp and color every single one at some point. Or at least try to make and send more cards this year. The paper is from a KI Memories pack. I used the same Martha Stewart border punch but covered up about half of it with the patterned paper. Here's a close-up, mostly of the stickles that I added to the strawberry, cupcake hearts, and stars, which doesn't seem to show up very well in my photo. The coloring usually looks best standing far far back. :-) And finally, my felt flower! I finally got some PTI felt and yes, it cuts very nicely! Unfortunately the felt flower is Raspberry Fizz and the pink cardstock is Hibiscus B...

Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge

Hi!  Thought I'd participate in PTI's blog hop.   The challenge:  With the new year comes a clean slate along with many resolutions.  This month's blog hop challenge involves you challenging yourself to use a Papertrey stamp set that has yet to see ink or even one that might be collecting a little dust! The stamp set I really wanted to use was PTI's Tiny Treats Valentine.  This is the first time I got to use this set since buying it after last Valentine's Day.  I love that the Tiny Treats set is so easy to use and perfect for kids and kids' crafts.  So my kids and I made a bunch of Valentine's goodies. We made lollipop flowers for the teachers and my daughter's class.  This was inspired by Betsy Veldman's post found HERE .  Instead of die cutting a lot of paper flowers we used leftover foam flowers we had in our crafting box.  My daughter has 29 kids (we made 2 lollipop flowers/child) in her class so we wanted to d...

Happy 39!

Quick and simple birthday card. Just trying to get it out in the mail on time. And I wanted to use my new PTI stamp set. Initially I was going to make a little kid birthday card, but then I thought maybe I should color some cute image. I think the Big Birthday Wishes works well for adult birthdays. Who of course like to be reminded of how old they are! :-) Did I pick a rude sentiment? I wouldn't actually send it to a friend, it's going to my brother. I had to think twice about the age, I initially die cut the wrong numbers, geez, how the years fly by as we get older... Everything is PTI, cardstock and polka dotted paper. The numbers and label are Sizzlit dies. And I used a Tim Holtz embossing folder. I attached the eyelets with my crop-a-dile, and they turned out kind of smooshed. I think the crop-a-dile works better on larger eyelets and the gromlets, or else I don't really know how to use it for the small eyelets. Anyhow, that's OK, I don't think my brother wil...

A Wednesday Birthday

Hello, again! I am actually trying to get some birthday cards done on time. But I mostly wanted to try this faux charcoal coloring with prismacolors as shown by Club Anya Jen . At least there were no color choices involved and I only used 2 pencils. Except instead of using a white pencil, I used French Gray 10% by accident. Which I didn't realize until I was putting it away. But that's what happens as I was looking for my white pencil and I heard hollering/crying from the kids so I had to rush back upstairs. Also note to self, black pencil blends very dark if you put too much color down. The face and clothes turned out a lot darker than I expected so I had to go back and color the hair again. Anyhow, I also got my new PTI stamps that I wanted to try out. Although I guess Just the Ticket is actually an older set. I held off on buying the ticket die thinking I could just cut the tickets out myself by following the border since I had these rounded edge scissors, but I might rec...

Let's Travel Together

Hi!  Here's a little card I plan to enter in TGF's Farm Fresh Friday Pop Challenge .  We're to use a technique to "pop up" our projects so it reminded me of the "spotlight" technique that can be found on Splitcoast Stampers here .  Claudia and Company had a spotlight challenge also that I thought was pretty neat. I picked TGF's Oliver & Amelia's Journey set because I love they way Amelia is looking at her bear and that's what I wanted to spotlight.  I also popped up the bear and her arm again on the spotlighted piece.  Paper tole technique, I think? Here's another view.  I liked this technique because I didn't have to color much!  Although my hubby looked at it and gave it a weird look.  What?!  He says it's too artsy.  He likes simple the best which is true I suppose for most things.  But I'd say this is far from artsy.  Geez. Did you notice my card edge?  Heehee, I just got my PTI edgers die so I had to try it...

Miss Anya Love

Hi!  Made this card for Club Anya and Friends Mystery Monday.  It's the first time I've actually used this TGF Miss Anya Love stamp even though I've had this set for a while now.  Mostly because I had to get accustomed to her not having a mouth.  I don't know--something about not having a mouth reminds me of ghost stories or something spooky like that.  I know that might sound weird.  Anyway, I'm slowly getting over it.    Do you see that large doily in the back?  I love it!!  From MFT!  A doily die.  I used regular copy paper to cut that out hoping it would look a bit more delicate.  I did find some heart shaped Wilton doilies from Ben Franklin today too.  The hearts are also diecuts from MFT.  I stamped LOVE with PTI's Simple Alphabet and cut them out.  There's a little pink pearl in the O.  Oh and look at these felt roses!  I love them too.  Also from MFT.  You die cut it and roll ...

Princess Tuesday

Hi!  Made a card to follow the sketch above from Club Anya and Friends. I finally got to use my Creeper Tuesday.  I like her.  My kids and hubby--they don't like her much.  My kids' conversation compared her to T-rex.  What's scarier, her or T-rex?  Hahaha.  And my hubby couldn't get over her combat boots.  What's so bad about her boots? The sentiment is from CC Designs.  I actually bought it just to go with Tuesday because I thought it fit her so well.  I've actually had the pink roses for a few years now, maybe 8 years.  They've held up pretty well over the years. I added some lace and the border die is also from MFT part of their Die-namics die collection. Added some bling on her crown and in the corners and also gave the whole card a shot of the sparkle shimmer spritz.  I've always wanted to try pink hair too, on a card that is not on myself. Paper is Basic Grey that Cheryl gave to me some time ago.  Thanks! ...

Count Your Rainbows ...

Hi!  Here is the other easel card calendar I made.  Image is Pure Innocence Sunshiney Day.  I bought a whole bunch of Pure Innocence stamps and Die-namic dies.  Even though I wasn't crafting much I was still buying!  Can't resist all these cute things! Again, calendar is from Sunghee's store, Little Potato House .  Thanks for making these cute calendars!  I love the doily behind the calendar.  I actually grabbed it from the plate of mints that came to our table when we were out eating at a restaurant.  Hahaha.  I want to check out the baking section at Walmart or even Ben Franklin to see if they have more of these little doilies cause they are thinner and look more delicate than the Martha Stewart one I used in the post below this. Hearts are die cuts from MFT's Die-namics dies.  Cheryl, go check it out!  So cute!  I stamped part of the Inkadinkado Kid Quotes on this heart.  Large heart is felt.  Butterfly is...
