burlap joy bags & my next craft fair!

Hello!  Wow, I think I need to nap from the 3 day weekend we had.  Either that or drink some coffee which I think I need to start up again just so I can have some energy in the mornings.  I had some coffee over the weekend and I felt like crafting all day!

I purchased these cute drawstring burlap bags and added the fabric joy sentiments onto them.  I made something similar to these before on smaller muslin bags.  These burlap bags seem much more practical since they are larger and can even hold a gift card, perfect for the upcoming holidays.

I also made small kraft tags with red twine to go along with these bags.  You'll have to practice some small handwriting as these tags are small but this size seems more proportional to the larger burlap bags.

Here's a giftcard hanging from the top of the bag.  I'll be posting these photos onto its Etsy listing which is why I have that disclaimer up there.  Can't be too careful these days as a seller or buyer.  Need to take lots of precautions in either role.

Here's how it looks gently stuffed.  I'd take into consideration where the drawstring closes to see if your small wrapped treat/favor/gift would fit in here.

And I just got confirmation for my next craft fair.  If you are local, come visit me at the Moanalua 99 Craft Fair (where 99 Ranch Market used to be) on Sunday, September 20th from 10 am - 3 pm.  I'll have some handmade cards, potholders, tote bags, fabric wine bags, some of these joy bags, and jewelry.  Free parking and lots of wonderful AC for these hot, humid days.

Thanks for stopping by!

Perfect idea for gift wrapping, especially for smaller items like giftcards. This is a great idea! I might have to give it a try I have some of those burlap bags and have been trying to figure out how to make them functional and cute. A simple sentiment is perfect. TFS!

nuts and bolts

Hello!  Today I'll be sharing the last amigurumi I made during my crochet frenzy.  I haven't been crocheting much recently except for this one little project I'm kind of procrastinating with.  I really do love this last one because I think it came out really cute. This is a little crocheted robot designed by Bubblegum Belles .  You can find the pattern HERE .  Sometimes I purchase the patterns especially if they are really cute.  But a lot of designers do list their patterns for free too on their blogs so I always check to see if they have a blog or not.  It's also important to read their pattern listing too if you are purchasing to see whether they are for personal use or also for commercial use.  Here is a different view of him.  Happy that he is able to sit on his bottom.  I actually cut out 2 felt hearts using a heart die, blanket stitched them together, and then hot glued the heart to the robot.  I tried stitching one h...

It's a short hop list this time around! Perfect Paper Crafting & Laura My Mind's Eye Pam Jenny Eva (Me!) Roxie Recently, I saw these layering tags dies and thought I really wanted those.  I love the look of layered tags so I used my Perfect Layers rulers to make some with My Mind's Eye Happy Haunting papers. I have a tag die from Papertrey Ink so I used that as my smaller tag.  I glued that tag onto kraft cardstock and used my ruler to cut a 1/8th inch border aro...

Snowman gift card holder

Hi!  I was planning to post this last night but I was just too tired to write or think of complete sentences.  It's been a busy week with the boys on Fall break and still trying to finish up a bunch of crafts.  I have been trying to make some crocheted crafts to put in my Etsy shop and finally I'm done with one.  It's a crocheted snowman that can hold a gift card or anything actually that is small enough to fit in the pouch.  The pattern is designed by ChiWei Ranck of One Dog Woof and can be found HERE . Here's the little snowman with his arms folded over in the front to look like he is hugging the card.  I added this fun card that I stamped.  You can definitely add in a gift card too behind this card. The gift card reaches under his nose. This is how the little opening of the pouch looks.  I hope I can make more of these little guys.  These would be so cute for teachers and I think it would be easy to put a little wire throug...
