What's Vintage?

Here's the sketch for A Crafty Little Place's card challenge--classic vintage.  I don't know exactly what "vintage" is.  I don't think I've made a vintage card before.  Is it like "shabby chic?"  I don't know what that is either.  But here's my card:

I tried to find my most vintage looking DP.  I wanted to use something like tissue paper for lace but couldn't quite get it right so I did the ribbon pleating thing.  And I have this really cute Martha Stewart floral punch but it doesn't punch through my PTI cardstock!  It's so frustrating.  In my head, I used the punch on the tissue paper but in real life it didn't work.  Shucks!  Even tried to thicken the tissue paper up a bit but it kept tearing.  Maybe it's the punch?  Maybe it's defective.  I don't know.  I think I'll keep trying.

This cute little girl and bunny is from TGF called Snuggle.  She's so precious and reminds me of when my daughter was a baby and carried around this little bunny too.  She used to suck on the ears and then they got all stiff after they dried.  Kind of gross.  So I had to buy this stamp.  I do that a lot--buy stamps that remind me of my kids.

I made the sentiment using PTI's Simple Alphabet stamp set.  I stamped the letters and cut them out.  I wanted to copy the look of Cosmo Cricket's Tiny Type alphabet stickers.

I liked making this card even though it didn't turn out the way I had envisioned in my mind.  It's a little different from what I usually make.  But more importantly, this challenge is also to help out Michelle at Stampavie.  See HEREDCRU will be donating $1 for every participant's entry this week.  That is just so thoughtful and generous and all I had to do was make a card.  So simple.

Well, thanks for reading.  Have a great Aloha Friday and weekend!

You're so good at doing all these challenges! That looks pretty vintage-y. Your kids are so good with lovies, wish mine were attached to something other than me!
Very sweet card. I just love that little TGF Image. The ribbon looks great too. Glad to have you back at A Crafty Little Place.

Hi Eva - love the story about your DD's bunny's ears - so funny what saliva does to a stuffed animal. ;) I love TGF images, Snuggle is so cute with the sketch, you did a wonderful job with the vintage feel! ;)
Thank you so much for playing along with us at ACLP this week!

nuts and bolts

Hello!  Today I'll be sharing the last amigurumi I made during my crochet frenzy.  I haven't been crocheting much recently except for this one little project I'm kind of procrastinating with.  I really do love this last one because I think it came out really cute. This is a little crocheted robot designed by Bubblegum Belles .  You can find the pattern HERE .  Sometimes I purchase the patterns especially if they are really cute.  But a lot of designers do list their patterns for free too on their blogs so I always check to see if they have a blog or not.  It's also important to read their pattern listing too if you are purchasing to see whether they are for personal use or also for commercial use.  Here is a different view of him.  Happy that he is able to sit on his bottom.  I actually cut out 2 felt hearts using a heart die, blanket stitched them together, and then hot glued the heart to the robot.  I tried stitching one h...

It's a short hop list this time around! Perfect Paper Crafting & Laura My Mind's Eye Pam Jenny Eva (Me!) Roxie Recently, I saw these layering tags dies and thought I really wanted those.  I love the look of layered tags so I used my Perfect Layers rulers to make some with My Mind's Eye Happy Haunting papers. I have a tag die from Papertrey Ink so I used that as my smaller tag.  I glued that tag onto kraft cardstock and used my ruler to cut a 1/8th inch border aro...

Snowman gift card holder

Hi!  I was planning to post this last night but I was just too tired to write or think of complete sentences.  It's been a busy week with the boys on Fall break and still trying to finish up a bunch of crafts.  I have been trying to make some crocheted crafts to put in my Etsy shop and finally I'm done with one.  It's a crocheted snowman that can hold a gift card or anything actually that is small enough to fit in the pouch.  The pattern is designed by ChiWei Ranck of One Dog Woof and can be found HERE . Here's the little snowman with his arms folded over in the front to look like he is hugging the card.  I added this fun card that I stamped.  You can definitely add in a gift card too behind this card. The gift card reaches under his nose. This is how the little opening of the pouch looks.  I hope I can make more of these little guys.  These would be so cute for teachers and I think it would be easy to put a little wire throug...
