best witches

Hi!  Wasn't it nice to see a post from Cheryl??  She needs more time to craft.  Anyway, I was inspired by the sketch at Some Odd Girl and the recipe challenge #20 over at Paper Works Co to make a little something.  It's my first time with the Paper Works Co challenge though I've visited the site often for their cute Rachelle A. Miller stamps.  Thought I'd give this challenge a try after spotting it on Corinne's blog as well.  The recipe calls for an image that "floats," ribbon and brads/eyelets.

Here's the SOG sketch.

Here's my card using SOG's Witchy Tia.  I was so excited for so many different reasons to make this card.  Kristy over at SOG celebrated her birthday with a sale so I picked up some digital images.  I think it's still on until this weekend.  But you might remember me saying I didn't like my printer because my images always smeared with my Copics even after a night of drying or heat setting.  BUT I realized with my new addiction to colored pencils that I didn't really have to worry about this anymore since I don't use OMS either.  AND the other great thing??  You can change the outline color of the stamp image!  So I printed this out in a light peach tone instead of black for that no black lines look.

AND I'm also excited cause I just bought my first set of Prisma colored pencils today.  I've been using a combination of Crayola/Hello Kitty/Rose Art pencils.  I'll try the Prisma colored pencils tonight!  I was so lucky to win a gift card to Ben Franklin from Joy's blog and it came just in time to use with my 40% off coupon.  It really helped with the purchase.

Back to my card!  The tag and sentiment is from PTI.  I wrapped some black and orange ribbon around the card and attached a purple brad to the tag.  And witches on broomsticks float, right?  Hopefully, that qualifies.  Hehe.

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

First of all............GREAT CHIBI g/f!! Dontcha just love them! Secondly.....HELLO....my images smear too . I find they smear more when I JUST change the ink tanks.......when the ink nears the end of the tank, that is when I get the best bang for my buck with my copics! (Also my laser printer at work works real well, but don't tell my boss...haha).....This image is colored perfectly. Your no black lines is perfection! YAY for halloween and birthdays!! Thanks so much for being ODD with us this week. Take Care.

Looooove this, Eva!! Hope you win on both challenges. You did a fantastic job on our PWCO's You Float My Boat challenge!! A witch's broom totally floats :). And your take on the sketch is awesome! I love your scene, especially the stars paper, and embossed moon. Your coloring is amazing! Thanks for the tip on changing the ink color for the no lines look. As always, fab coloring. I almost attempted colored pencils but that'll be another story, lol! Thanks for the mention, girly, and for playing with us at PWCO!

upcycling Pokemon wrappers

Hello everyone!  I am back with my latest sewing creations.  I have been playing around with plastic wrappers!  I've seen those upcycled plastic wrap bags and purses (usually made from Capri Sun package juice) but never really paid attention to them or how they were made until I saw this tutorial using the wrappers from Pokemon cards.  My boys love Pokemon cards and were just throwing the wrappers away but I started saving them and collected enough from their recent birthdays to make a couple of items.  Here is a little coin pouch (didn't want to call it a purse since it's for my youngest boy and he'd probably not like that).  This little pouch was made with 4 wrappers, 2 in front and 2 in back.  It is a bit tough to turn right side out because the wrappers and contact paper get stiff.  But it's possible and looks really neat!  I made it so he could hang it from the inside of his backpack and also carry around a little bit of emergency...

TGF 3rd Annual Customer Blog Hop

Hi!  After finishing up these 2 projects for TGF's Blog Hop , I've come to realize that I am kind of addicted to stamps, especially TGF stamps.  Hehe.  Okay, I will not babble on too much since there are lots of other blogs to check out as well.  I made something for both categories, Holiday and General. First up is my Holiday card. I recently acquired Hippie Anya!  She inspired me to make a "peace" card for the holidays. But then I had to add Fleur Anya for "love" ... and 80s Anya for "joy."  So great that these stamps could be turned into something Christmas-y. My General project has been swimming in my mind ever since I made that counting book a while back with TGF stamps as well.  I thought I could make an ABC book too.  But I didn't make this into a book.  More like flashcards, I suppose.  My youngest has a hard time recognizing lower case letters so I thought this would be fun for him.  All stamps are TGF.  I ...
