CC Designs July Previews Day 1

Hello!  Welcome to Day 1 of previews for CC Designs .  The July release will be available July 4th, 9 PM EST.  I have 2 cards to share today.  This cutie is Watermelon Abigail.  The sentiment is from AmyR Sweet Summer Sentiments.  Paper is from Lawn Fawn. Here is a close up.  We just got a huge watermelon from our local supermarket the other day.  And the best thing was that it was free!  Super sweet and yummy. My second card features Pinwheel Birgitta and sentiment from AmyR Sweet Summer Sentiments.  It looks pretty 4th of July-ish too. Here's a close up.  I'm entering this in Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge #2 too!  This will be my second entry.  Amazing, right?  I hardly play challenges these days but it fits with their Red, White & Blue challenge. Wow, I can't believe tomorrow is July!  So fast! Thanks so much for reading!

Sister Stamps July Release -- Doogie

Hello again!  I can't believe it's the last day of June!  The summer needs to slow down.  But at least this new Sister Stamps release will be available July 1st.  I have one last card to share and it's a birthday card because Sister Stamps is celebrating 2 years!  Happy Birthday to Sister Stamps! My birthday card features Doogie.  He's adorable!  I love that he has an action pose going on.  The balloons and cupcake are from other Sister Stamps too.  Do you know which two?  The balloons are from Takeo, and I cut them out and tied them onto Doogie's tail.  Though I'm thinking maybe I should've made the balloon strings longer?  Anyway, Doogie's gotta take his own balloons to the party.  The cupcake is from one of my favorite Sister Stamps, Miyoko.  The banner and sentiment are from Lawn Fawn. Close up photo of Doogie going for that cupcake. The other day, I took my youngest to J's Knicknacks because they were having another awesome sale.  M

Celebrate!

Hello!  I have a card to share and a reminder that there is still time to join in on Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts Challenge #19 .  Just use a qualifying stamp and the colors Red, White, Blue and Kraft on your creations and you could win a prize of Top 3 honors. Here's my creation featuring Yumi .  Yes, it is very 4th of July-ish.  The papers are from Doodlebug, one of my most favorite paper companies.  I love all those 4th of July images on here.  I added some star stickers I had in my stash which I probably bought from Walmart.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches. A close up pic of Yumi.  I'm gonna enter this card into Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge #2 -- Red, White, Blue .  Such perfect timing! Be sure to check out what Denice has created too HERE . Thanks for stopping by!

Sister Stamps July Release -- Otsu

Hi!  Hope you are enjoying these previews of Sister Stamps July release.  I don't usually color animals so it was a Copic challenge for me.  It was fun to experiment if I should color pet fur like people hair.  Still need lots of practice for animal fur. Today I thought I'd share my project of Otsu, the only cat in this release. Sorry, the photo might be a bit dark.  I didn't want the glare from the plastic to blind you.  I have a friend who recently had a 3rd baby and so is again experiencing sleep deprivation.  I've read a couple instances on her FB page that with her lack of sleep she has almost confused cereal with the cat's food.  So when I saw Otsu, she reminded me of my sleepy friend.  I made a clip so she could stick it on the cat food box or bag. See, like this.  Pretend the cookies are cat treats.  I had to improvise.  It's a clothes pin.  I took apart the clothes pin and glued some pretty paper scraps on it and put it back together.

Sister Stamps July Release -- Cappy

Hi!  Happy Friday!  It's Cappy's turn today, and she is such a happy and lovable looking doggie.  Maybe she is happy it's Friday too! Here is my card featuring Cappy.  I paired her with some paper from Elle's Studio and used some CC Cutters mini alphabet dies to make the sentiment.  I used a Cheery Lynn heart die to create the heart cutout. Here is a close up of Cappy.  She's cute, right? Don't forget to check out the blogs below for more Sister Stamp cute-ness! Karen Jenny Debi Eunice Laura Linda Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sister Stamps Design Team!!!

Hello everyone!  I have exciting news to share as you may have guessed by the title on my post.  This opportunity to design for Sister Stamps came when I was contemplating going back to work and doing less DT stuff.  I thought to myself, is this a sign for me to learn how to say no or is it another positive opportunity?  I guess you know which I picked and really, how do you say no to Sister Stamps ?  Love the cute stamps and Jenny is super nice!  Thanks, Jenny for this wonderful opportunity!  And somehow I guess work will eventually fall into place down the road too.  Right? Anyway, this is Sister Stamps 15th release and soon to be their 2nd birthday.  But for today, I thought I'd share something not birthday-ish but Christmas-y.  Yes, Christmas in June/July!  We have lots of family with dogs even multiple doggie families so these stamps are gonna come in handy at Xmas time. Here is my project featuring the very sweet looking Kiki.  She looks so calm!  I finally gave i

Perpetual Calendar

Hi everyone!  I have a tutorial up over at CC Designs Rubber Stamps blog (formerly All That Scraps).  Head on over there to see how I made this cute perpetual calendar. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Congrats!

Hi all!  Sorry, sorry, this post is late!  I think I got preoccupied cleaning and getting ready for my daughter to come home.  I cleaned out her room while she was away.  She said it rained and actually had to buy a second poncho because her first one broke.  Then I unpacked all her things which was kind of stinky since she had all her wet socks from the rain in plastic bags.  And she took over 2000 photos!  Still haven't looked through all her photos.  Anyway, Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts Challenge #18 is Congrats/Celebration .  There are still a few more days to enter. I used Winter Yumi to create this bright and fun card.  I don't even have anyone to give this to but wanted to use this sentiment from PTI that I've had forever and not even inked up once.  Sometimes I wonder what am I doing buying stuff and never using them?  And so I also dug out that note die from PTI as well.  I think I am doing so much better with not buying too many crafty stuff. Here'

Yumi & Fumi Handmade Hang Loose Release!

Hi everyone!!  My daughter called this morning and said it's been raining a lot.  So bummers that they couldn't have good weather on this trip.  I know it'll make her appreciate living here a lot more.  But we had some rain today too! The Hang Loose release is finally here.  All the stamps we've been previewing are now available in the Yumi & Fumi Handmade store . I have one last card to share and this one features Summer Chuckles and one of the surfboards and some sentiments from the Tiki Surf set.  I've had these papers a while too but it's a good thing that I saved them since they fit so well with this image.  I also used my Perfect Layers rulers to make some mats around the sentiments and around my papers. Here's a close up picture of Chuckles and his board. Be sure to check out the rest of the DT's creations too over at Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts blog .  And link up for a chance to win some of these new stamps!  And I'm a

Hang Loose Preview -- Honu Set

Hi everyone!  My daughter is in New York now and I am hoping they are not getting soaked by rain.  They are planning to do a lot of walking in NY, and they already got rained on in Virginia.  I hope the weather cooperates for just a few more days.  The weather is strange this season, isn't it?  It seems to be rainy a lot here too. I'm back today for the last preview of Yumi & Fumi Handmade's Hang Loose Release .  The Honu Set features two honu (turtles), lotus flowers and a sentiment.  Culturally, honu are very significant in Hawaii.  When my son was in the 2nd grade, his teacher explained how she thought of her students as honu and she gave each of them a necklace with a honu.  She said as students, they need to constantly go forward and not turn back just like the honu.  And she had mentioned that honu do not swim backwards.  I was like really, they don't?  Then the principal came in the classroom and said the exact same thing.  So must be true, right?  The weir

Hang Loose Preview -- Tiki Set

Hi! I'm back today to preview another new Yumi & Fumi Handmade stamp.  This one is actually a stamp set that has a tiki, couple of hang loose sentiments and surf boards.  You can check out below to see the complete set.  It is definitely perfect for Hawaii. I made a tag to feature the tiki.  The tiki reminds me of chocolate covered macadamia nuts that are really yummy and popular to give as gifts in Hawaii.  I thought this little tag could be added to a box of those chocolates.  Hmmm, I could really go for some of those right now. If you'd like to see more of this set, please head over to Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts blog . Thanks for stopping by!
