CC Designs July Previews Day 1

Hello!  Welcome to Day 1 of previews for CC Designs.  The July release will be available July 4th, 9 PM EST.  I have 2 cards to share today.

This cutie is Watermelon Abigail.  The sentiment is from AmyR Sweet Summer Sentiments.  Paper is from Lawn Fawn.

Here is a close up.  We just got a huge watermelon from our local supermarket the other day.  And the best thing was that it was free!  Super sweet and yummy.

My second card features Pinwheel Birgitta and sentiment from AmyR Sweet Summer Sentiments.  It looks pretty 4th of July-ish too.

Here's a close up.  I'm entering this in Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge #2 too!  This will be my second entry.  Amazing, right?  I hardly play challenges these days but it fits with their Red, White & Blue challenge.

Wow, I can't believe tomorrow is July!  So fast!

Thanks so much for reading!

Sister Stamps July Release -- Doogie

Hello again!  I can't believe it's the last day of June!  The summer needs to slow down.  But at least this new Sister Stamps release will be available July 1st.  I have one last card to share and it's a birthday card because Sister Stamps is celebrating 2 years!  Happy Birthday to Sister Stamps!

My birthday card features Doogie.  He's adorable!  I love that he has an action pose going on.  The balloons and cupcake are from other Sister Stamps too.  Do you know which two?  The balloons are from Takeo, and I cut them out and tied them onto Doogie's tail.  Though I'm thinking maybe I should've made the balloon strings longer?  Anyway, Doogie's gotta take his own balloons to the party.  The cupcake is from one of my favorite Sister Stamps, Miyoko.  The banner and sentiment are from Lawn Fawn.

Close up photo of Doogie going for that cupcake.

The other day, I took my youngest to J's Knicknacks because they were having another awesome sale.  Mostly I bought Copic Xpress It Blending Cardstock but I let my son pick out his very own Stickles.  He loves glitter glue but Crayola kind doesn't last too long and so he gets disappointed.  He got to pick two colors and a package of rhinestones too.  He loves rhinestones!  I need to teach him to use them in moderation (hoard) and not all on one card!

Celebrate!

Hello!  I have a card to share and a reminder that there is still time to join in on Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts Challenge #19.  Just use a qualifying stamp and the colors Red, White, Blue and Kraft on your creations and you could win a prize of Top 3 honors.

Here's my creation featuring Yumi.  Yes, it is very 4th of July-ish.  The papers are from Doodlebug, one of my most favorite paper companies.  I love all those 4th of July images on here.  I added some star stickers I had in my stash which I probably bought from Walmart.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

A close up pic of Yumi.

I'm gonna enter this card into Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge #2 -- Red, White, Blue.  Such perfect timing!

Be sure to check out what Denice has created too HERE.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sister Stamps July Release -- Otsu

Hi!  Hope you are enjoying these previews of Sister Stamps July release.  I don't usually color animals so it was a Copic challenge for me.  It was fun to experiment if I should color pet fur like people hair.  Still need lots of practice for animal fur.

Today I thought I'd share my project of Otsu, the only cat in this release.

Sorry, the photo might be a bit dark.  I didn't want the glare from the plastic to blind you.  I have a friend who recently had a 3rd baby and so is again experiencing sleep deprivation.  I've read a couple instances on her FB page that with her lack of sleep she has almost confused cereal with the cat's food.  So when I saw Otsu, she reminded me of my sleepy friend.  I made a clip so she could stick it on the cat food box or bag.

See, like this.  Pretend the cookies are cat treats.  I had to improvise.  It's a clothes pin.

I took apart the clothes pin and glued some pretty paper scraps on it and put it back together.  And I used some really super duper old sticky sheets for some no heat lamination.

I also wanted to share the card my youngest one made.  He also gets super excited when I get packages of stamps.  He loves to look through them and pick his favorite, and Otsu was his favorite and he made a card before I did.

This is his card with Otsu dreaming of her Xmas presents!  See her dream bubble?  And he drew the tree behind the present that comes with Otsu too.  And then he made me search for a Merry Christmas sentiment.  He wanted one that said Merry Christmas, Cat.  He had to write in Cat himself.

Be sure to stop by these blogs as well.  I'm sure you'll see lots more cute stuff!

Sister Stamps July Release -- Cappy

Hi!  Happy Friday!  It's Cappy's turn today, and she is such a happy and lovable looking doggie.  Maybe she is happy it's Friday too!

Here is my card featuring Cappy.  I paired her with some paper from Elle's Studio and used some CC Cutters mini alphabet dies to make the sentiment.  I used a Cheery Lynn heart die to create the heart cutout.

Here is a close up of Cappy.  She's cute, right?

Sister Stamps Design Team!!!

Hello everyone!  I have exciting news to share as you may have guessed by the title on my post.  This opportunity to design for Sister Stamps came when I was contemplating going back to work and doing less DT stuff.  I thought to myself, is this a sign for me to learn how to say no or is it another positive opportunity?  I guess you know which I picked and really, how do you say no to Sister Stamps?  Love the cute stamps and Jenny is super nice!  Thanks, Jenny for this wonderful opportunity!  And somehow I guess work will eventually fall into place down the road too.  Right?

Anyway, this is Sister Stamps 15th release and soon to be their 2nd birthday.  But for today, I thought I'd share something not birthday-ish but Christmas-y.  Yes, Christmas in June/July!  We have lots of family with dogs even multiple doggie families so these stamps are gonna come in handy at Xmas time.

Here is my project featuring the very sweet looking Kiki.  She looks so calm!  I finally gave in and bought this stocking die from Stampin' Up a while ago to prepare for this Xmas.  I cut some felt out and used fabric glue to seal the edges together.  My fabric glue was kind of old and stuck so when I squeezed just a bit too hard everything oozed out onto my crafty board!  Didn't want to waste the glue so I just used my finger.  Talk about messy!  That isn't really a doggy treat in there either.  It's a cereal bar for humans but it fit nicely.  Hopefully I can find some kind of doggy treat or something.

Here's a close up photo of Kiki on the tag.  I used a mini clothes pin to attach the tag to the stocking.  I also added some color to her cheeks.  Animals need blush too, right?

Please head over to the rest of the Sister Stamps gang to see more inspiration!

Perfect Paper Crafting and Tiddly Inks Blog Hop!!

Hello!  I'm so excited for today's blog hop with Perfect Paper Crafting and Tiddly Inks!  I love Tiddly Ink's images and anything Wryn is my favorite.  I had a lot of fun creating cards for today's hop.  Because I don't often have time to play around with Tiddly Ink images I couldn't just stop at one card.  I made 4 cards and had to force myself to move on to my other commitments!

Here are some important details about this hop.  Perfect Paper Crafting will be giving away a $50 gift certificate to their online store, and Tiddly Inks is also offering up some prizes.  Be sure to head to the Tiddly Inks blog for all the prize info.  Visit each blog and leave comments to be eligible for these awesome prizes.  Deadline to comment is Friday, June 28th at 12 AM PST.

Here is the blog list!

Onto my cards.

My first card features the Summer Sweet Wryn digi.  She really is perfect for summer.  All the mats on this card and that follow were made using the Perfect Layers rulers.  I added some Stickles on the lollipops and when it dried, I added Glossy Accents over them for more shine.

My second card features this cute doggie from the Flying High Clear Stamp Set.  There are a lot of cute images in this set and I really wanted to use them all.  But since this card will be going to a birthday boy I thought I'd stick with the doggie.  The clouds are felt and die cut using Papertrey Ink's die as well as the number 5.

My third card is a small card and features Celebrate Joyfully Clear Stamp Set.  It's really easy to make cards of all sizes with the Perfect Layers rulers.

My last card features the Loving Pixie digi.  The sentiment comes from the stamp set I used on my 3rd card.  I really love this sweet image.  I just wanted to show how easy it is to make varying width mats too with the Perfect Layers rulers.  I used different rulers to create thinner mats and then thicker ones.  It doesn't always have to be the same and even all around.

Next on the hop is Jeanne!

Enjoy the hop, and thank you for stopping by!

Congrats!

Hi all!  Sorry, sorry, this post is late!  I think I got preoccupied cleaning and getting ready for my daughter to come home.  I cleaned out her room while she was away.  She said it rained and actually had to buy a second poncho because her first one broke.  Then I unpacked all her things which was kind of stinky since she had all her wet socks from the rain in plastic bags.  And she took over 2000 photos!  Still haven't looked through all her photos.

Anyway, Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts Challenge #18 is Congrats/Celebration.  There are still a few more days to enter.

I used Winter Yumi to create this bright and fun card.  I don't even have anyone to give this to but wanted to use this sentiment from PTI that I've had forever and not even inked up once.  Sometimes I wonder what am I doing buying stuff and never using them?  And so I also dug out that note die from PTI as well.  I think I am doing so much better with not buying too many crafty stuff.

Here's a close up.

Head over to Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts blog to see Denice's creation too!  I love how creative it is!  Link up your creation on the original challenge #18 post HERE.  And don't forget to check out the challenge rules HERE.

I've got a lot of stuff to organize and need to get crafting again!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Yumi & Fumi Handmade Hang Loose Release!

Hi everyone!!  My daughter called this morning and said it's been raining a lot.  So bummers that they couldn't have good weather on this trip.  I know it'll make her appreciate living here a lot more.  But we had some rain today too!

The Hang Loose release is finally here.  All the stamps we've been previewing are now available in the Yumi & Fumi Handmade store.

I have one last card to share and this one features Summer Chuckles and one of the surfboards and some sentiments from the Tiki Surf set.  I've had these papers a while too but it's a good thing that I saved them since they fit so well with this image.  I also used my Perfect Layers rulers to make some mats around the sentiments and around my papers.

Here's a close up picture of Chuckles and his board.

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT's creations too over at Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts blog.  And link up for a chance to win some of these new stamps!

And I'm also entering this one into Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge #1 -- Father's Day/Masculine.  It's been a long while since I've entered a challenge and this one is new and local and fits the challenge criteria.  I make a lot of cards but sometimes they don't seem to fit the challenge criteria at the right time so I lucked out with this one.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hang Loose Preview -- Honu Set

Hi everyone!  My daughter is in New York now and I am hoping they are not getting soaked by rain.  They are planning to do a lot of walking in NY, and they already got rained on in Virginia.  I hope the weather cooperates for just a few more days.  The weather is strange this season, isn't it?  It seems to be rainy a lot here too.

I'm back today for the last preview of Yumi & Fumi Handmade's Hang Loose Release.  The Honu Set features two honu (turtles), lotus flowers and a sentiment.  Culturally, honu are very significant in Hawaii.  When my son was in the 2nd grade, his teacher explained how she thought of her students as honu and she gave each of them a necklace with a honu.  She said as students, they need to constantly go forward and not turn back just like the honu.  And she had mentioned that honu do not swim backwards.  I was like really, they don't?  Then the principal came in the classroom and said the exact same thing.  So must be true, right?  The weird thing is that I can't find any info that mentions honu only swim forward.

Anyway, here is my washi shaker card featuring the two honu.  One is inside and the other one out.  I wanted to try this shaker card since seeing them out in blogland.  It's so simple to make one that I almost forgot to glue one of the turtles inside like I wanted to before taping up the last side.  Thank goodness for tweezers!  All the fish and sun confetti I've had for years.

This honu is inside.  I had a lot of fun coloring these turtles.  I looked up some images of sea turtles on the internet and based my color choices on that.

What I loved about coloring these was that I just pretty much did what I felt like.  Dot, dot, dot here, blend, blend, blend here and all done.  There is no wrong way to color them.  And I love the way they turned out.

Please head over to Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts blog to see more of this set.  (And it's raining again!)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hang Loose Preview -- Tiki Set

Hi! I'm back today to preview another new Yumi & Fumi Handmade stamp.  This one is actually a stamp set that has a tiki, couple of hang loose sentiments and surf boards.  You can check out below to see the complete set.  It is
definitely perfect for Hawaii.

I made a tag to feature the tiki.  The tiki reminds me of chocolate covered macadamia nuts that are really yummy and popular to give as gifts in Hawaii.  I thought this little tag could be added to a box of those chocolates.  Hmmm, I could really go for some of those right now.

If you'd like to see more of this set, please head over to Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts blog.
