Easter Baskets

Hi!  I crocheted these Easter baskets after Christmas when I was tired of making Christmas gifts and needed a break from stamping.  The pattern number is L0136AD from Lion Brand Yarn.  They are only about 6 inches wide so a cute little basket for little kids. I also crocheted an amigurumi bunny to go in the basket.  ETA:  Sorry, forgot to add that the pattern for the bunny is also from Lion Brand Yarns (60480).   Amigurumi are small and seem quick to make but for me it takes a while cause they are so small.  You crochet all the little body parts separately and then sew them together.  Sometimes I'm not that patient.  So this bunny took me several days.  I'm contemplating making another one cause there are 2 little girls we give Easter baskets too and I can't give one a bunny and not the other. The ears are large and floppy and I sewed beads on for eyes but maybe that makes him look kind of scary.  I'm looking for safety eyes to ...

Flutter Anya Birthday Wishes

Hello, I'm back with one card. I feel like an underachiever compared to Eva (you're a crafting machine!) It literally takes me like a whole week to make just one card. Anyhow, this week, I decided to try the Mystery Monday CASE . And I wanted to try coloring with distress inks. I recently noticed that the Club Anya Kristy Young colors with distress inks. I never really paid close attention until recently as I've been collecting more ink pad colors. Anyhow, I was searching youtube and found this tutorial by Dena's Stamping Corner (there were actually 3 videos in all) and a video of BA coloring . Let me just say, it was a lot harder to color than they made it look! Anyhow, so this was my first attempt with Flutter Anya. Maybe I needed better watercolor paper, but I bought the cheap one that was on sale at Michaels just because I didn't want to buy expensive paper and waste it with hobo looking coloring! I also used some really old patterned paper. It happened to matc...

Papertrey February Blog Hop Challenge

Hi!  It's time again for PTI's blog hop!  With their new weekly Make It Monday Challenges and the blog hop, I've been making so many more PTI projects than before.  Now my PTI stamps and dies don't feel as neglected.  The February Challenge is below. This month we decided to dedicate the Blog Hop to scallops!  We want to see your best use of scallops, of any sort, on a project!  This can include scalloped borders, offset-scallops, stamped scallops,  scalloped mats, scalloped frames, layered scallops, scalloped tags or anything else you can dream up! You can use dies, patterned scissors or even circle punches in a row to achieve your special look. We are looking forward to seeing all of your amazing creations! I think I may have a lot of pictures to share so I hope you can make it to the end of this post!  The first thing that came to mind was to make some flowers using scallops.  I used PTI's large scallop border di...

Party Animals

Hi!  Me again with my 3rd entry for PTI's Make It Monday using scor-tape and glitter.  This is probably the most glitter I've ever used in my crafting life.  I promise this is my last entry, maybe.  Anyway, I had this idea for this card using the animals from Tiny Treats Birthday.  I wanted a line of animals leading each other to Monkey's cage for his birthday party.  They are following each other using some twine on a glitter strip.  Because I wanted it to be kind of a long layout, I decided to make a money holder card.  Here's a close up of Monkey hanging from some twine.  I used the mat stack stamp from Tiny Treats Christmas cause it looked similar to bars on a cage.  I used the long twine to tie the money card closed. All the other animals coming along with Turtle bringing some balloons. This is the inside.  It's a pretty simple money holder card to make.  I cut the kraft cardstock to 8.5 x 7 inches.  Then fro...

Hugs & Kisses

Hi!  This is my second entry for PTI's Make it Monday using scor-tape and glitter.  My first entry is HERE . It's a little late for Valentine's Day but I thought this would be a cute use of glitter.  It uses PTI's note paper die.  I stacked 2 pieces together like scratch paper to play tic tac toe.  I had seen Donna Mikasa stack them too on one of her cards on her blog at 3 umbrellas and thought it was a cute idea.  The x and o are from my Just Rite stampers set.  The bottom sentiment is from PTI's Simple Sentiments.  I wrapped some pink twine around the end of the banner before tying it into a bow.  I wasn't sure if I should leave some blank squares or not.  I opted for the simple way and since my letter stamps aren't clear I didn't want to take the chance of missing the square when I stamped the letters.  Trust me, this wasn't my first attempt! Thanks for reading!

Merry & Bright

Hi!  Did you see that Cheryl's card for PTI's Make It Monday ( HERE ) got a shout out from Nichole Heady???  How exciting is that?!  It's time for another Make it Monday challenge at PTI .  It's to use scor-tape and glitter.  I have to admit I'm not much of a glitter fan.  I've had one small container of glitter for the past few years and it's still pretty full.  It's just so messy!!  But I guess the purpose of these challenges is to create stuff you normally might not.  Here's my card.  Heehee, it's an Xmas card!  I'm so early for Xmas but last year I bought the tree die and a whole pack of pinefeather and scarlet jewel cardstock because I thought I would be able to make cards for family and friends.  Well, that didn't go as planned.  Anyway, I used the scor-tape plus glitter for the garlands of my tree.  I traced the die on the pinefeather cardstock and then placed my tape where I wanted it to go but didn't remo...

Loads of Wishes

Hi!  Call me crazy ... it's way pass my bedtime but I wanted to craft tonight and it's a long weekend so why not?  This is one of the projects I made tonight.  I had to motivate myself to make a card for PTI's Make It Monday Challenge to use a vellum sentiment strip.  I saw the little truck from Tiny Treats Birthday set and thought it would make a cute boy card.  Then I remembered how Debbie Olson had used the handwriting line stamp from School Time to make a road for her school buses to drive on.  So that inspired me to make this vellum strip road/sentiment.  It was actually my second try.  I had first stamped it in rich cocoa on the vellum but thought hey, white lines on roads so I stamped it again with fresh snow and layered the smokey shadow cardstock in the back for better contrast. The trucks are popped up as well as the top kraft layer.  Also used the Book Print impression plate.  It took me a while to decide what color my 3rd...

Make It Monday #2

Please scroll down to Eva's post from earlier today! I am actually going to try and participate in a PTI challenge (gasp! - hopefully I can manage to get everything linked nicely). Anyhow, it's the Make It Monday #2 challenge, using a vellum sentiment strip . I actually needed a thank you card for my daughter's birthday present and a lot of clothes! I think her wardrobe will be set for the next 2 years! Anyhow, I stamped all three Beautiful Blooms 2 flowers on the matching die cuts. I still can't tell if I have the stamps oriented correctly to the dies, so I used raspberry fizz ink on raspberry fizz cardstock to make it less obvious if they are indeed mismatched. Then I used the largest leafy branch from Turning a New Leaf. Can you tell there's a vellum strip there at the bottom? Maybe I shouldn't have used white vellum on white cardstock, but then I didn't know what else color cardstock to stamp the leaf image on. I punched a scalloped dotted border al...

February 2012

Hi!  So above is the new sketch at My Favorite Things .  I used it as my inspiration for my February 2012 calendar/scrapbook page.  My January 2012 page is HERE . I used Pure Innocence Primrose stamp which is the February one in the year of flowers series.  Paper pieced dress and the flowers are popped up a bit. PTI banner die and Martha Stewart butterfly punch.  Paper is from Basic Grey. Calendar is computer generated.  February is from the Primrose set and 2012 from PTI's Calendar Basics set.  The area on top is for a photo and journaling. Thanks for reading and hope you're having a great weekend!

Cupcake Anya

I finally made a card! After I don't know how long. I fell off the crafting wagon for a bit. This blog is supposed to help keep me motivated to actually use all the stuff I buy. Maybe it's helping me a little where I am at least thinking about it more often. Unfortunately, I don't always feel like I have the time or energy. But Eva is keeping me inspired, my crafting idol! So anyhow, this week, I did the Saturday Sketch from Club Anya , again. I picked Cupcake Anya for my free digi from a previous week, so I figure I better try and use her before I forget I even have it on my computer. The whole card seems a bit bright, but I wanted to match the colors on the glittery Doodlebug stickers (border trim, flowers, and label). And then I got a little out of control picking so many different colors and ended up not even using the stickers that contained any orange! First time I used my PTI New Leaf cardstock, I'm kind of actually liking that bright green. It's embossed...

You're a Sweetie

Hi!  Here's a little easel card made with TGF's Cheeky Cherry Pie.  I really like this Cheeky.  She's probably my favorite--maybe cause she has pie.  In any case, this is for Club Anya and Friends Mystery Monday .  I used a heart-shaped doily and placed liquid pearls around the border but some got kind of smushed.  Hmmm, not patient enough to let it dry completely.  There's also some Glossy Accents on her pie.  I made a little stick pin by the flowers using my beading stash.  The flower background is fabric paper from American Crafts.  It comes with a sticky back and you just peel off the paper--I've had it for a few months now.  It looks like wallpaper to me.  Then added some lace. The sentiment is from Oliver & Amelia's Just For You set.  The hearts were diecut using MFT's Die-namics dies.  Then some pearls along the bottom just cause I can't seem to leave a whole lot of blank space.  I always want to f...
