Loads of Wishes

Hi!  Call me crazy ... it's way pass my bedtime but I wanted to craft tonight and it's a long weekend so why not?  This is one of the projects I made tonight.  I had to motivate myself to make a card for PTI's Make It Monday Challenge to use a vellum sentiment strip.  I saw the little truck from Tiny Treats Birthday set and thought it would make a cute boy card.  Then I remembered how Debbie Olson had used the handwriting line stamp from School Time to make a road for her school buses to drive on.  So that inspired me to make this vellum strip road/sentiment.  It was actually my second try.  I had first stamped it in rich cocoa on the vellum but thought hey, white lines on roads so I stamped it again with fresh snow and layered the smokey shadow cardstock in the back for better contrast.

The trucks are popped up as well as the top kraft layer.  Also used the Book Print impression plate.  It took me a while to decide what color my 3rd truck would be.  Blue or green?  Primary colors or traffic light colors to kind of match my theme.  I kept asking my hubby and he kept saying off things like black.  That doesn't help me much.  In the end I went with primary colors.  Then I thought the top half looked kind of blank and missing something.

Definitely will be going to sleep now.  Thanks for reading and have a great day!

soooo cute! I love how the primary-colored trucks stand out so much. The impression plate in the background adds the perfect touch.

nuts and bolts

Hello!  Today I'll be sharing the last amigurumi I made during my crochet frenzy.  I haven't been crocheting much recently except for this one little project I'm kind of procrastinating with.  I really do love this last one because I think it came out really cute. This is a little crocheted robot designed by Bubblegum Belles .  You can find the pattern HERE .  Sometimes I purchase the patterns especially if they are really cute.  But a lot of designers do list their patterns for free too on their blogs so I always check to see if they have a blog or not.  It's also important to read their pattern listing too if you are purchasing to see whether they are for personal use or also for commercial use.  Here is a different view of him.  Happy that he is able to sit on his bottom.  I actually cut out 2 felt hearts using a heart die, blanket stitched them together, and then hot glued the heart to the robot.  I tried stitching one h...

Roxie Recently, I saw these layering tags dies and thought I really wanted those.  I love the look of layered tags so I used my Perfect Layers rulers to make some with My Mind's Eye Happy Haunting papers. I have a tag die from Papertrey Ink so I used that as my smaller tag.  I glued that tag onto kraft cardstock and used my ruler to cut a 1/8th inch border aro...

Snowman gift card holder

Hi!  I was planning to post this last night but I was just too tired to write or think of complete sentences.  It's been a busy week with the boys on Fall break and still trying to finish up a bunch of crafts.  I have been trying to make some crocheted crafts to put in my Etsy shop and finally I'm done with one.  It's a crocheted snowman that can hold a gift card or anything actually that is small enough to fit in the pouch.  The pattern is designed by ChiWei Ranck of One Dog Woof and can be found HERE . Here's the little snowman with his arms folded over in the front to look like he is hugging the card.  I added this fun card that I stamped.  You can definitely add in a gift card too behind this card. The gift card reaches under his nose. This is how the little opening of the pouch looks.  I hope I can make more of these little guys.  These would be so cute for teachers and I think it would be easy to put a little wire throug...
