Birthday time

Hello!  I don't think I shared this card that I made for Rosemary Bridges for her birthday.  We did a special post for her over at Yumi and Fumi Handmade Crafts blog.

I used Yumi Peace Sign and tried to make it really feminine and pink-y.  The sentiment and tag is from PTI.  The pretty floral papers are from Wild Rose Studio.

Here's a close up.  I ended up fussy cutting her out.  Ever since I started using more digi stamps I have been outlining the black lines with my black Copic multiliner pen when I use my rubber/clear stamps to get a more defined black line.  That is one of the things I like about digi stamps.  The lines print so dark and perfect!  Sometimes when I stamp my lines they are defined here and there with some not so dark.  I especially like to darken up the eyes.  I also use the chisel end of my black Copic marker to cover any white that shows after fussy cutting.  I don't use the brush end cause I'm afraid the sharp edge of the paper could mess up the brush tip.

Today was a really wet and gloomy day with lots of traffic in the late afternoon.  So glad to be staying in tomorrow!

Thanks for reading!

Gorgeous card for Rosie's special day! I love that WR paper, I think I have a few of those in my stash, and the simple layout. Gorgeous colors on her kimono too and love howyou did her make up. I cover up the white the same way when I fussy cut and I tend to darken the blacks with a multi-liner too. I've recently purchased a reinker of black memento and it seems to work really well so that i don't need to break out the ML too much.
Anyhoos, super cute card!

Snowman gift card holder

Hi!  I was planning to post this last night but I was just too tired to write or think of complete sentences.  It's been a busy week with the boys on Fall break and still trying to finish up a bunch of crafts.  I have been trying to make some crocheted crafts to put in my Etsy shop and finally I'm done with one.  It's a crocheted snowman that can hold a gift card or anything actually that is small enough to fit in the pouch.  The pattern is designed by ChiWei Ranck of One Dog Woof and can be found HERE . Here's the little snowman with his arms folded over in the front to look like he is hugging the card.  I added this fun card that I stamped.  You can definitely add in a gift card too behind this card. The gift card reaches under his nose. This is how the little opening of the pouch looks.  I hope I can make more of these little guys.  These would be so cute for teachers and I think it would be easy to put a little wire throug...

nuts and bolts

Hello!  Today I'll be sharing the last amigurumi I made during my crochet frenzy.  I haven't been crocheting much recently except for this one little project I'm kind of procrastinating with.  I really do love this last one because I think it came out really cute. This is a little crocheted robot designed by Bubblegum Belles .  You can find the pattern HERE .  Sometimes I purchase the patterns especially if they are really cute.  But a lot of designers do list their patterns for free too on their blogs so I always check to see if they have a blog or not.  It's also important to read their pattern listing too if you are purchasing to see whether they are for personal use or also for commercial use.  Here is a different view of him.  Happy that he is able to sit on his bottom.  I actually cut out 2 felt hearts using a heart die, blanket stitched them together, and then hot glued the heart to the robot.  I tried stitching one h...

Roxie Recently, I saw these layering tags dies and thought I really wanted those.  I love the look of layered tags so I used my Perfect Layers rulers to make some with My Mind's Eye Happy Haunting papers. I have a tag die from Papertrey Ink so I used that as my smaller tag.  I glued that tag onto kraft cardstock and used my ruler to cut a 1/8th inch border aro...
