Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts Challenge #8

Hello!  It's December and time for Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts Challenge #8 -- Kim's Sketch and/or color combo (red, camel & white).  You can choose to either do the sketch or color combo or do both.  I chose to do both and that really made all the decision making so easy!

My card features Winter Yumi from the new Winter Release.  The tiny heart tag and sentiment is from PTI.  I added those small sequin flowers that I just got from a blogging buddy, Blankina!  She was so sweet to send me some goodies all the way from Italy!  Thank you!!  I kept this card pretty simple to highlight the image, and um, I needed to catch up on all The Vampire Diaries!  Haha.  I'm caught up now.  Can't believe I watched over 4 seasons of episodes.  Hey, this Winter Yumi could be Elena!

Here's the sketch!  Kim is so good with sketches!

Here is the color combo inspiration.

Please check out Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts blog to see if you are a winner or in the Top 3 from Challenge #7.  Also hop over to see the rest of the team's creations!  Hope you'll join us for this challenge.  It'll run til the end of the month since we all know it's a busy time of the year for everyone and this will give you more time to play.

Thanks for reading!

Gorgeous card! I love how clean your card is and yet it's much more than that. This card is fabulous Eva!! The flowers are pretty and I love the sentiment. Now that you are done with catching up what will you do? Read the books?

Love how you colored her...solid red can be tricky, but did it perfectly.

Snowman gift card holder

Hi!  I was planning to post this last night but I was just too tired to write or think of complete sentences.  It's been a busy week with the boys on Fall break and still trying to finish up a bunch of crafts.  I have been trying to make some crocheted crafts to put in my Etsy shop and finally I'm done with one.  It's a crocheted snowman that can hold a gift card or anything actually that is small enough to fit in the pouch.  The pattern is designed by ChiWei Ranck of One Dog Woof and can be found HERE . Here's the little snowman with his arms folded over in the front to look like he is hugging the card.  I added this fun card that I stamped.  You can definitely add in a gift card too behind this card. The gift card reaches under his nose. This is how the little opening of the pouch looks.  I hope I can make more of these little guys.  These would be so cute for teachers and I think it would be easy to put a little wire throug...

nuts and bolts

Hello!  Today I'll be sharing the last amigurumi I made during my crochet frenzy.  I haven't been crocheting much recently except for this one little project I'm kind of procrastinating with.  I really do love this last one because I think it came out really cute. This is a little crocheted robot designed by Bubblegum Belles .  You can find the pattern HERE .  Sometimes I purchase the patterns especially if they are really cute.  But a lot of designers do list their patterns for free too on their blogs so I always check to see if they have a blog or not.  It's also important to read their pattern listing too if you are purchasing to see whether they are for personal use or also for commercial use.  Here is a different view of him.  Happy that he is able to sit on his bottom.  I actually cut out 2 felt hearts using a heart die, blanket stitched them together, and then hot glued the heart to the robot.  I tried stitching one h...

Roxie Recently, I saw these layering tags dies and thought I really wanted those.  I love the look of layered tags so I used my Perfect Layers rulers to make some with My Mind's Eye Happy Haunting papers. I have a tag die from Papertrey Ink so I used that as my smaller tag.  I glued that tag onto kraft cardstock and used my ruler to cut a 1/8th inch border aro...
