another birthday card

Hello.  Surprised that it's me again?!  Well, it was nice to take a vacation this past week with both kids at summer camp, although I still had to work a little from home with everything being computerized nowadays... Anyhow, I made another birthday card, based on the last Card Patterns sketch .  And since it's a summer birthday, thought I'd make something for the Sunshine and Summertime Retro Fresh Challenge . So I don't even know the name of this stamp set, it's the Ian and Anya in their undies, that come with all the different outfits.  Colored the aloha shirt with unblended pencil...does it look like those inside out aloha shirts?  Actually tried inking the inverted scallop circle nestability, the mustard seed distress ink happened to match some yellow cardstock that I had (non-PTI, shocking, I know).  The hibiscus paper is something I got a really long time ago from probably one of the first Creating Keepsakes conventions I ever attended, I can't eve

update ...

Hi!  I'm still here ...  But summer is so busy, isn't it?  With my 3 kids all with different schedules, I don't have a huge chunk of time to craft!  Plus I'm so tired by the time it's 10 pm, sometimes earlier, that I just go to sleep!  At least the kiddies are having fun.  Today, my daughter is going to the pool with her summer school math class!  Yeah, some how the teachers have devised a way to learn about math in the pool.  My daughter loves to swim so hopefully she's enjoying the pool at her new school. My son is also at the same summer school and his class is going on a bowling field trip today!  He is lucky.  His class is going on some field trip every Friday. And even my youngest one is having a Field Day at his preschool.  He loves to run around.  So I have about an hour or so everyday before I have to pick up or drop off some one at school.  Next year, I gotta get them all on a similar drop off/pick up schedule.  I have nothing crafty to share tod

happy birthday

Hello.  I was thinking Eva would post something soon, but she must be having a busy summer... Here's a birthday card that I made for the latest Farm Fresh Friday challenge, using ribbon .  And based on the Saturday Sketch on Splitcoaststampers . It's a little strange that all the cards I've made recently end up at Eva's house! You might be wondering where the ribbon is, but I read "twine" somewhere in the challenge description and went with that instead since I wanted to tie some tags on.  Anyhow, this was my first time coloring up Logan, usually I try to pick characters that sort of look like or remind me of the recipient, but don't really know many boys with curly hair.  Tried to color the hair strands straighter, but oh well.  Used Papertrey Ink cardstock in kraft, aqua mist, ocean tides, dark chocolate, and vintage cream, plus their patterned paper, happy birthday stamp and tiny tags die.  The background woodgrain stamp is from Hero Arts stam

Lucky

Hi!  I spent the weekend crafting like crazy trying to finish up 3 cards for TGF's Customer Challenge and Chit Chat Night on SCS .  The theme was music and the challenges were to create a project inspired by a favorite song, favorite music video, and a favorite lyric.  So because I don't know how to just pick one and because I love these kinds of challenges, I had to do them all.  Hehe. First up is one of my current favorite songs.  I've only recently heard it on the radio and didn't know who sang it so I did a search of it on You tube.  It's called Lucky and I was so surprised that it was sang by Jason Mraz cause I'm not that big a fan of his other songs.  Lucky is a duet with the female part sang by Colbie Caillat who I've never heard of.  Yeah, I'm so not with it.  My card is based on the video.  See HERE .  I used TGF's Dressy Edward digi and Fancy Anya.  I think Edward looks pretty stylish and so does Fancy. Please tell me you know w

aloha

Hi!  Aloha kakahiaka means good morning to you.  Do you know that song?  It's like a little preschool song that my kids used to sing.  The Greeting Farm's Sing stamp reminds me of that song.  I think this may be the first time I colored her up entirely.  She's sweet, isn't she?  I selectively stamped the musical notes from Lawn Fawn's Teeny Tiny Backdrops.  The sentiment is PTI felt and alphabet dies. Masked some clouds in the background. Followed the current DS sketch #55 .  I know I left out that vertical piece cause I just couldn't make it work. Today was a holiday for us here.  Spent most of it doing chores.  We also celebrated my youngest one's 4th birthday this weekend.  Cake, ice cream and a yummy lunch! Thanks so much for reading!

Doomo Arigato, Mr. Roboto

Hi!  Tiddly Inks challenge #88 is to create a Father's Day or masculine card.  So I thought this was difficult since I mostly have Wryn images from Tiddly Inks.  Hehe.  So I went to search what kind of cute, boyish things I could find.  And I was thrilled to find this cute digi robot called Roboto .  I kept this card pretty simple since that is what my hubby likes.  Clean and simple and cute.  I scored the card above and below the DP for some interest.  The letters and the orange dots are rub ons from American Crafts.  My letters are a bit off though but I think it's still cute.     So of course the name of this digi totally reminds me of the song, Doomo Arigato, Mr. Roboto .  And it's kind of an inside joke in our family so it was perfect as a father's day card for the kiddies to give their daddy.  It's also the first card I think I've ever made for my hubby!  I wasn't sure if I should blog it already but I guess it's okay if he sees it early.

4

Hi!  Just dropping in to share a simple corner bookmark that I made for my youngest one's 4th birthday.  He is so excited and counting down the days on the countdown calendar I had made a while ago.  I think he had started at about 40 something days and would ask is 40 a long time?  Yes!  Now, it's less than a week! Sometimes instead of a card, I'll make a corner bookmark for my kids' birthdays.  Just cause it's something functional and practical and not a card that they'll just stash on the side.  The big 4 is a PTI die cut. I love this guy!  He and his birthday hat are from Paper Smooches Party Posse. The heart balloon is from Paper Smooches Smoocheroos.  My kids love him too.  He's so round and squeezable looking.  Thanks for reading!

So in love with you

Hi!  Wow, I think it's been a while since I blogged!  It's the summer and though I've been crafting when I can, I haven't been blogging much.  Just trying to take it easy til summer school starts for the kiddies.  And my internet is driving me crazy and sorry I haven't been commenting regularly.  I did finish up a card for today.  I used TGF's SCS sketch 16 . This little girl is from TGF's Sweet & Toxic set.  I've used the boy before but I don't think I've ever stamped/colored this one up.  I had a lot of fun coloring her. I've had these papers Echo Park papers for a while too.  I really liked the sentiment too!  Now that I look at this photo, is it blurry?  Sorry! I think that is it for me.  I have some more pinwheels to make for my youngest one's birthday goodies.  Thanks for reading!
