Hello!  Today I'll be sharing the last amigurumi I made during my crochet frenzy.  I haven't been crocheting much recently except for this one little project I'm kind of procrastinating with.  I really do love this last one because I think it came out really cute. Hi all!  How many tries does it take for you to create something you love?  Can you complete a card or a tag in one sitting or do you change things around often?  Today I wanted to share the process I went through in creating a simple tag.  It was the tag that I made to go along with my crocheted octopus in my previous post. See the tag behind the octopus?  Looks pretty simple, right?  I didn't even have to color the images.  I just stamped them in colored ink but it took me much longer than I thought it would. Try #1.  I thought I wanted to use this cardstock that had the small specks of color in it so I stamped my octopus image on it twice.  And it had to be more than once because "octopi" is plural, right?  I couldn't just stamp it once cause it would be kind of grammatically off.  Yeah, I think my mind is a little picky at times. But then I had a scrap piece of kraft cardstock and I stamped the blue octopus on it and...

Hello!  Did you notice I changed the look of the blog?  Thinking I wanted a change especially since it's the new year and still January, and I noticed lots of things like my bloglist was really out of date.  I guess people don't blog as much as they used to, myself included. Today I have this cute amigurumi octopus to share!  Isn't it adorable?  This is from a pattern by the Left-Handed Crocheter you can find HERE .  She has lots of photos of different octopus she has made and they are all adorable!  I made mine on the smaller size but she also has a pattern for a huge one which I may try at a later time. You can also prop him up on his legs!  I made him using Caron Simply Soft yarn and a 2.75mm hook. Hi!  I've been making a lot of tags lately trying to get ready for Christmas and I am finally done. These were made with Lawn Fawn stamps and dies.  I love this set.  It is so cute and funny! Here is the back of the tags.  I think these would be so fun to put on gifts for children.  They would think the tags are so funny! Hello!  So recently I sold a card that I made last year.  It was the little MFT flying pig with reach for the stars sentiment.  I loved that card!  And even though it took a bit of a while to sell, probably cause I listed during Christmas season instead of graduation season, I didn't mind since I loved looking at it.  When it did sell, I was kind of sad to see it go.  Hopefully the buyer enjoys it too. Today, I have another graduation card, two cards actually but they are variations of each other so basically almost the same. Hello again!  I had more time to make some cards the past couple days.  I made another box card like the one I shared a couple days ago. This card features the cute seals from Lawn Fawn's Sealed with a Kiss.  I got this set last year when I purchased $35 worth of product from Lawn Fawn.  I actually bought stuff just to get this stamp set!  It's so cute!  I love the seal kissing the other seal and the pun is so fun. Here's the box kind of folded flat.  The seals kind of peek through. Recently I bought WRMK's Precision Press when it was on sale at Scrapbook.com.  I used it to stamp the sentiment on this box card.  It was easy to use and I got to double stamp the sentiment to make it darker.  I've used it on other projects recently too and it's such a good choice if you're looking for something like that especially if you're on a budget.  It's such an economical choice! Hello!  Happy Spring!  Well, so much for blogging more regularly.  But I actually have not been making many cards.  I have a lot of images colored up but they are not finding their way onto cards!  Hopefully soon though.  I would like to have a day just to make cards and not have to worry about chores or meals.  Cooking takes a lot of time, doesn't it?  I would love if someone prepared our meals and then cleaned up too.  Wishful thinking, dreaming on my part. Hi!  It's the end of January!  But I have to admit that January kind of felt long for me.  I don't know if it's because of school starting again for the kids or all the holidays they had or the mornings that seem to be dragging on because of the all the roadwork happening right outside our house.  All the construction outside is driving me crazy and really does not help me focus on crafting.  Also because it's February in a few hours, I've decided to mark down the 2017 calendars in my shop.  If you're interested, please take a look. Hello!  Here is another Valentine's Day card using a Lawn Fawn set called Flamingo Together.  So I admit I wasn't all that into this set but it has such cute sentiments and that decided it for me.  Plus the flamingos are fun to color and I think it's a unique idea for a stamp set. Sorry, now that I look at this photo, it looks a bit blurry!  Ugh, my eyes are getting so bad!  But you get the idea. Hello!  I started making some Valentine's Day cards for my shop.  I love Lawn Fawn stamps and their punny sayings!  So I used a bunch of their stamps recently.  And I totally thought I would be good and not get anything from their new release but those dies!  I want the Fancy Box and the Scalloped Box Card Pop up!  Here is one of the cards I've made recently using Lawn Fawn's Wheelie Like You set.  I had to do some selective stamping to stamp the Wheelie three times and in red.  I use a small post it and cover up the words I do not want to be inked up.  Then I remove the post its and stamp only the word I want. Here's a close up.  I fussy cut the little guinea pig out and adhered him onto the wheel.  Wait, he is a guinea pig, right?  Could he also be a hamster? Hello!  It was a busy week so I did not really create very many new cards.  But I still have a back log of cards to share with you. I was looking through my stamps and I realized I never used this cute Lawn Fawn Trick or Treat stamp set.  It's one of their small sets and I really like that it's very nicely priced too.  I did a little bit of distress ink blending for the background and cut out the candy corn images, stamped the simple sentiment and was done.  A simple card for Halloween. Here is a batty version too.  Can you believe it will be Halloween soon?  I wish time would go a bit slower.  Maybe I could squeeze in more crafting. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hello!  Just now sharing some cards I made using Lawn Fawn's Dad & Me stamp set.  I made 2 using the moose, one for dad and one for grandpa. I love the puns that Lawn Fawn comes up with -- too cute!  And I love the funny glasses that fit over the moose!  I used a stitched rectangle die and used distress inkpads to create the background.  The sun and clouds are from Taylored Expressions. Here is a card for Grandpa and I used to the same layout and design.  And isn't the baby moose super cute too?  I have come to love blending the background using distress inkpads and a sponge.  It is even easier for me than doing the watercolor backgrounds that I used to do.  I do think blending the inks on thin watercolor cardstock is easier than blending on regular cardstock.  There is a nice texture to watercolor cardstock too.
