a bit of this and that

Hello!  I have a little bit of this and that to share today.  Thought I'd jam everything into one post in case I don't get a chance to share them later.  Here are some of the Mama Elephant reindeer shaker tags I made.  I sold some at the last fair but I should've take a photo of all 24 together before selling them!  I think these are about the cutest reindeer ever.  If only I can get my hands on the dies soon, I can make more projects with these. Here is another set of tags.  I added red stars in some shakers and then green stars in others.  I think the green stars were more popular and sold better.  Did you see that Mama Elephant is releasing a new stamp set with the Chinese zodiac animals?  The set is so cute and I can't wait to get those. I made some graduation cards too using Sister Stamps Graduate stamp.  Green is the school color of the university here. And lastly, I made this necklace the other day with th...

my first craft fair!

Hello!  I haven't posted since the first of July!  Mostly I've been getting ready for my first craft fair.  It's the Craft, Gift and Rubber Stamp Expo at the Blaisdell Center Hawaii Suite on Sunday, July 26th from 9 am to 3 pm.  Free admission too so if you're in the area, stop by and say hello!  It's never too early to shop for Xmas, is it?  Plus I'll have my used stamps and dies for sale as well so lots of good deals. Here are some photos of some of the items I'll have at the fair. Sterling silver earrings.  Sterling silver necklaces.  I've sort of given them names or titles, I suppose.  Sterling silver bracelets. Some sewing stuff like these quilted potholders.  I was really ambitious at first and thought I could make like 25!  But I stopped at 10.  Those are some muslin bags and I used some heat bond to adhere the word joy (Lawn Fawn die).  Dies cut fabric! Here are a ton of magnetic clothespins a...

bff bracelets

Hello!  Before I show you the new jewelry I made, I wanted to share something kind of funny and a little irritating, actually, to me.  All the time that I have been sewing, I have been threading my machine wrong.  Wrong, wrong, wrong.  I think my mistake was just listening to my hubby when I should have read the directions myself.  And the weird thing is that it still sewed okay.  The only reason why I discovered all the wrong things I was taught was because I couldn't get nice even stitches on my current projects and it was driving me crazy.  I spent a lot of the day just looking online and then finally took out the instructions and oh my goodness, what a revelation!  I was even winding the bobbin wrong and putting that in the machine wrong too!  Geez, I thought my hubby read the directions but I guess guys really don't read any instructions and try to just wing it themselves.  So I had to give the hubby some scoldings when he came home...

lots of projects to share!

Hello!  I have a bunch of projects to share today.  I'm adding some new sterling silver jewelry to my Etsy shop.  I actually haven't listed these dragonflies yet.  Been kind of busy and lazy when I'm not busy.  All the kiddies are at home for the summer.  I think they are already bored. This is one my favorite little necklaces.  The round disc is only 9 mm and I stamped the kanji symbol for beautiful onto it.  Everything is sterling silver and the chain measures 16 inches.  This one is listed in my shop. See?  Tiny and sweet.  Good thing my nails aren't dirty looking.  Hehe. I started making Xmas gifts!  Pillows for all our cousins' kiddos.  This was my first one and I think it's just a tiny bit snug.  I tried doing a zigzag stitch around the letters but boy that was complicated so I opted for a straight line stitch instead.  I guess it's okay but it is super time consuming. This is my se...

"love" necklaces

Hi all!  It's been a little while, hasn't it?  I really can't believe it is already May.  The school year is almost over and the kids all move up another grade.  It's really too fast.  I was asking the kids the other day why it seems like the months and years go by so quickly but sometimes the week just drags on?  Constantly wishing for Friday to hurry up. I'm sharing my latest sterling silver necklaces.  They all fall under the theme of love.  Here is a little heart which is hammered on one side for texture and shine.  I made some earrings with these the last time. Sorry, still cannot get the hang of taking photos of jewelry.  But I love this simple and minimal style of jewelry.  It's kind of like making CAS cards!  These are cute little love birds on a branch.  Really sweet. Another one with an infinity symbol.  You know, cause love is forever! And last, is a simple circle.  A never ...

simple sterling silver earrings

Hello!  Hmmm, my TGF sale seems to have slowed down but if you are interested in some older stamps please check out my post HERE . Today I have some sweet sterling silver earrings to share.  I saw these little charms and thought that they would make cute earrings. These are little penguins and they are probably my favorite.  I thought I'd give them to my daughter who loves penguins.  I attached these onto some sterling silver stud posts. A pair of cute seahorses.  These are on hook earrings.  I love little earrings like these.  They are small but still shiny and sparkly when they move. A pair of sweet hummingbirds. A pair of cherry blossoms. And a pair of hammered heart earrings.  I love these too.  I do plan on selling some of these sterling silver jewelry I've been making.  So if you see something you like just let me know.  Email is on the side bar.  I am working on the Etsy store.  Ha, I know I'...

sterling silver jewelry

Hello!  Today I'm sharing the jewelry I made recently.  I shared these on FB so sorry if it's a repeat for some of you.  I've been admiring some of the cute and delicate sterling silver jewelry on Etsy.  And you know, being a crafter I can't just buy the finished product, I need to actually try to make it.  I've dabbled in some jewelry making years ago so I have some of the basic tools already. Here is a bracelet with a tiny cloud charm.  The chain is really very delicate.  Oh and sorry, but all that glue on my clothespins is so noticeable in these photos!  Kind of messy looking.  Anyway, I'm not too into this charm anymore since discovering that they are so thin and too fragile.  The cloud bends too easily! Here is one with a sweet bow.  I love this one.  I had seen a similar one on Etsy so had to make one too.  These are really sweet for weddings to give to bridesmaids with a saying about tying the knot.  Is...
