Hello!  I finally was able to squeeze in some time to play with Some Odd Girl's Winter Friends stamp set.  The set has some of the cutest penguins!  I have to admit that I have a lot of penguin stamps.  My daughter loves them so every time I see a cute penguin stamp I almost always get them. It is almost my daughter's birthday so I made the usual square corner bookmark using the smaller of the 2 penguins in the set.  I make bookmarks for my kids' birthdays instead of cards so they can use them and not just stow them away.  The penguin is purple because that is my daughter's favorite color.  Give her a purple penguin and she's good to go! I added a paper pieced bow that also comes with the set.  The sentiment is heat embossed and I added a red felt heart over the solid one that comes with the set.  I added some Stickles too.  I followed Some Odd Girl's most recent challenge and sketch . Hi!  I wasn't crafting as much last week so thought I'd better do something over the weekend.  I finally printed out Some Odd Girl's Giggle Fairy that I got during SOG's facebook fun day.  Such awesome deals and tutorials that day!    I followed SOG's current sketch challenge but went with a simple version of the sketch.  I don't know, I may have been too lazy to look for paper to match but did find this colorful scrap banner (PTI die).  The sentiment is from another SOG stamp, Smell the Flowers Tia that I heat embossed. I heat embossed the flowers (from SOG's Renew set) and also used The Greeting Farm's Splotchy set to create a border around Giggle Fairy.  I used my Perfect Layers rulers just for the yellow rectangle layer.  I'm liking the pops of color with kraft cardstock and still into my heat embossing! Hi!  There are so many fun challenges to participate in!  I'm trying to do as much as I can before I get onto some end of the school year stuff.  I'm thinking of making pinwheels attached to pencils but maybe that is too time consuming.  I have just about a week left.  After making my previous bright card, I saw that Some Odd Girl is having a BRIGHT challenge !  And it'll be on Facebook too.  So I printed out Bookish Tia and had fun coloring her up.  Yeah, I bought her cause of her glasses and her books.  Totally reminds me of my daughter.  Even my daughter thought Bookish Tia was a lot like her so she wants to give this card to her school's librarian.  I kept the papers (from Doodlebug) pretty simple.  I added some cork borders (PTI die) and used my felt too which I haven't used in quite a while. Hi, hi, hi!  Happy National Scrapbooking Day!  Happy Boy's/Children's Day!  and Happy Free Comic Book Day!  Wow, lots of special events going on today!  You know that if you go to a participating book/comic book store, you can get a free comic book?  Even our local library participates so we usually go there to get one for each of our kids.  Just Google it! Hi!  So I think I was a bit more sick than I thought I was because I couldn't gather up enough energy to craft this past week.  I tried napping once the kids all went back to school but for some reason or other there were always appointments or interruptions that kept me from sleeping soundly.  But today I think I'm feeling okay.  At least okay enough to make a card.  I'm playing along with TGF's Friday Spy Day #14 and Some Odd Girl's Bling It Up!   I wanted to make a New Year's card using TGF's Happy New Year Anya digi.  I erased the 2011 and hand wrote 2012 on her sash.  I actually colored her in twice because the first one I printed out seemed a bit large like she was going to trample over the buildings behind her.  Hehe.  So I shrunk her down a bit.  The diecut behind her is MFT's Skyline Border die.  I cut it twice and also pieced them together to line up how I wanted it.  I thought it was perfect for this New Year...

Hi!  Wasn't it nice to see a post from Cheryl??  She needs more time to craft.  Anyway, I was inspired by the sketch at Some Odd Girl and the recipe challenge #20 over at Paper Works Co to make a little something.  It's my first time with the Paper Works Co challenge though I've visited the site often for their cute Rachelle A. Miller stamps.  Thought I'd give this challenge a try after spotting it on Corinne's blog as well.  The recipe calls for an image that "floats," ribbon and brads/eyelets. Here's the SOG sketch. Hi!  I made a little something for TGF's Which One Wednesday Sketch #10 , Ribbon Carousel's Challenge 18 All Tied Up (use more than 1 spool item) , and Some Odd Girl Challenge Paper Piecing . When I saw the sketch, it reminded me of a Double Pocket Card.  See HERE for a tutorial.  But I didn't follow the tutorial.  I made the bottom boxes in the sketch into pockets.  One to hold a gift card and the other to hold a little card for a message. I used TGF's Vivi.  She is popped up a bit on the first pocket. Vivi is paper pieced and I found my stash of bells after searching all my crafting bins.  I tied one on to the end of her cap with some twine and added some flower soft too. This is what the inserts look like.  The smaller one will hold the gift card.  I just used some removable tape and an old gift card I found for reference.  The larger one has a label (from PTI) so my son can scribble his name on it.  Both the inserts hav...

Hi!  I really couldn't resist any longer and got my first Some Odd Girl clear stamp.  I really had to to stop myself from buying them all and tell myself to buy in moderation.  Hahaha.  My order came so nicely packed in a white bag wrapped with twine and there was a piece of cardboard in it to keep it from getting all smashed.  Well, I really loved how it came and the twine and the cardboard were too pretty to throw away so I decided to make another book!  But this time for me.  And the current challenge at Some Odd Girl is to Lift an Odd Girl .  So I looked through all the DT's sites for some inspiration and it was hard to choose!  In the end I had to go with Robin Mck's card . I'll show the back first.  I used the cardboard piece for the back of my book for stability.  This is the cover.  The stamp is called Smell the Flowers Tia.  I wrapped the blue twine around the front over the lace.  I love that blue color!...
