crafting this and that

Hi!  I have some exciting news to share today!  Today is Yumi & Fumi Handmade's Back to School release !  These are some of the cutest back to school images!  This cute gal is Fumi with Backpack!  Is that the cutest little bear backpack?  I added her onto this photo frame that I found at our local craft store.  I usually don't do much floral or shabby but I was seeing so much shabby chic projects over at Jenny's blog that I was in a shabby kind of mind frame.  I painted the frame in a light pink and cover it with papers from Melissa Frances.  The little piece on the doily is from October Afternoon.  These papers are kind of on the older side that I've had for a while. I added a bunch of flowers and the butterflies are from CC Designs.  A little photo of your kiddie's first day of school would be perfect in this frame. And there is even more exciting news!  The Yumi & Fumi Handmade store is now OPEN...

I didn't actually make anything this year, but here's a craft made by my son at school for his Mother's Day present. Although he tells me he just painted the frame and stamped the ladybug bodies. So now I know what he was talking about when he said the teacher took his photo at school. It also happened to be the day after I cut his hair myself! Yikes! He's been going to a haircut place, and everytime I watch them do it, I think to myself, I should be able to do that at home with our clipper set...not as easy at it looks though. Good thing his hair grows fast so I have more chances to practice. Anyhow, he also made a handprint card and wrote out a little poem. I scanned and pasted the whole thing together, so it didn't exactly look like that in real life. Anyhow, have a Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!
