Showing posts with the label distress inks

congrats

Hello!  Just popping in to share some cards I made with Winnie & Walter's Addie's Garden.  I wanted this set because it seemed like the images were really easy to water color using distress inks.  Here is the first one I made using the hydrangea stamp.  I heat embossed it in white and just added the distress inks.  The sentiment comes from a PTI set and I heat embossed that in gold. The colors on here are slightly different but the layout is similar to the above card. This is the last one I made using the tulip image.  The sentiment is also from the same PTI set. Remember I still have sales of my used stamps and dies.  Just click on the SALE tab at the top of the page. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hoppy birthday!

Hello!  I was making some cards the other day using some distressed inks and thought I'd make one for TGF's (Spring Colors) latest challenge too.  I dug through my stamps and I think I have too many that I don't really use anymore.  I have to do some crafty cleaning.  Anyway, I thought these bunnies from TGF's Lucky Bunnies would fit well with some spring colors.  This is the old rubber stamp set so a little different than the clear stamp set when it was re-released. Here are the three bunnies and I thought about making 3 different cards with each one but figured the bunnies looked cuter keeping each other company.  I put together the sentiment with various Lawn Fawn alphabet and sentiment sets.  I was in a punny mood so that explains my sentiment. Here's another view.  I guess my spring colors are kind of bright and not very pastel-y.  I like bright!    Hope you're enjoying this Monday!  Thanks for dropping by! ...

Sister Stamps Release #27 -- Kaleo

Hello again!  Today I'm sharing my Sister Stamps cards featuring Kaleo.  If you read my post yesterday, you'll see the cards today are kind of similar.  I was in a distress ink watercoloring kind of mood! So Pua reminded me of Aloha, and Kaleo reminds of Mahalo.  I don't know why but that's just what popped into my head and I went with it.  To me, Kaleo should be singing and playing on the beach somewhere!  Again, I heat embossed the sentiment in white using PTI's alphabet stamps.  I colored 4 Kaleos just varying his hair color and shorts/slippers.  Also added the tiny musical notes from one of Lawn Fawn's background stamps with the rows of musical notes so some selective stamping going on. And here are the birthday card versions with sentiments from CC Designs.  This guy is pretty awesome and adds such a sweet touch to any card.  Love the aloha shirt and his ukulele.  As usual, please check out what the rest of the DT ha...

Sister Stamps Release #27 -- Pua

Hello!  Yay, finally time to share some Sister Stamps projects.  I made these cards a while ago so I may need to refresh my memory of my crafty process.  But it's not too complicated since my cards are usually CAS to begin with. Today, I'm sharing cards I made with Pua.  First of all, isn't she so cute?  Totally reminds me of May Day in Hawaii!  But she is a versatile image perfect for lots of occasions.  When I first saw her, I thought of Aloha so that is the sentiment I went with here made by heat embossing in white and PTI's alphabet stamps.  And rainbows!  Used my distress inks to make the rainbow colored backgrounds.  The right side is a bit brighter but I love the look of both.  I also colored the hair different for each girl and then added little white flowers to her her dress.  You can click on the photo for a bigger view. And then, I made a couple of birthday day cards using sentiments from CC Designs.  S...

cupcake birthday cards

Hello!  Today I have some birthday cards to share.  Usually I don't mass produce birthday cards but I made one and I thought it came out cute and so then I thought I should make some more.  Plus if I have to take out all the supplies, might as well make more and birthday cards are so useful to have around. This is the first one I made using some cute stamp sets from Mama Elephant.  I really love this cupcake set.  I heat embossed the cupcake and sentiment first in white onto watercolor cardstock.  Then I took my distress ink pads and rubbed them onto an old plastic cover to use as a palette.  I added some water and brushed on the colors like a rainbow over the white embossed areas.  After that was all dried I added the cute bunny wearing a bow.  I added some sequins for fun too. These are the ones I made after.  No sequins on these.  I used different cupcakes and also tried embossing with gold on the right.  I made one ...

Flutter Anya Birthday Wishes

Hello, I'm back with one card. I feel like an underachiever compared to Eva (you're a crafting machine!) It literally takes me like a whole week to make just one card. Anyhow, this week, I decided to try the Mystery Monday CASE . And I wanted to try coloring with distress inks. I recently noticed that the Club Anya Kristy Young colors with distress inks. I never really paid close attention until recently as I've been collecting more ink pad colors. Anyhow, I was searching youtube and found this tutorial by Dena's Stamping Corner (there were actually 3 videos in all) and a video of BA coloring . Let me just say, it was a lot harder to color than they made it look! Anyhow, so this was my first attempt with Flutter Anya. Maybe I needed better watercolor paper, but I bought the cheap one that was on sale at Michaels just because I didn't want to buy expensive paper and waste it with hobo looking coloring! I also used some really old patterned paper. It happened to matc...
