crafting this and that

Hello!  Just dropping in real quick to mention that I'll be at my first craft fair of the year tomorrow, Sunday, April 3rd at the NBC Hawaii Suites.  I am still in the process of trying to finish some cards!  At some point real soon, I think I will give up.  Maybe after I make 4 more cards.  I think that is the most I can handle and still price everything and print out some signs and such.  It took me a week or so to pack up all my confetti!  I ended up sorting through some so that's why it took me so long.  It's not just scoop and pour into a baggie although I wish they all were like that. Here they are all packed!  I must say I love that they look so organized!  I bought these Ziplock containers, I think they are 9x6 inches.  I cut some chipboard and scored them to the right sizes to make little dividers between each row.  Hopefully, that will make it easier to sort through them.  Some cards I was able to finish ...

Hello!  The weather here has turned to rainy and breezy.  I like that more than hot & humid.  I discovered at the last craft fair that people still search for birthday cards during winter.  Well, of course they do cause birthdays happen every day all year round.  So I added more birthday cards just in time for the next Rubberstamp Expo happening this Sunday, November 15 at NBC Hawaii Suite. People were searching for boy birthday cards specifically and even cards for grown up guys.  I don't know, I don't think I make much guy stuff.  And also handmade items for boys.  I don't think I have too much stuff guys would buy.  I guess that is something to think about.  Anyway, I took out my favorite Sister Stamps birthday kids and made a couple of boy birthday cards.  Simple and sweet cards that didn't take me too long. Hello!  Yesterday, we attended the fair at Hawaii Kai Retirement Center.  It was a pretty short fair, only about 4 hours but the time did crawl at some points!  It was kind of a different fair for me and a different crowd.  Less crafty people for customers, I think.  I'm so used to speaking with people who like to make cards and stamp, and I think I kind of missed that yesterday.  But all in all, a good experience. But someone did ask me how I have the time to make so many crafts.  And then she asked if I work.  I still have to get used to answering questions like that.  Do you work?  Do you have a job?  What do you do?  I'm so used to saying no, I don't work.  But really I think I have a 24 hour job.  I don't have a regular 9-5 job.  I work all the time even in my sleep!  As a parent, do you sleep so soundly that you don't wake up when you hear a noise?  Ever since having children, I haven't slept we...

Hello!  Our third craft fair was at the Rubberstamp Expo again and I think I like this venue better than the 99 Ranch fair.  Mostly I guess because there is light!  It's kind of important that people can actually see what they are buying!  I will be signing up for the November 15th Rubberstamp Expo as well.  Not sure if that will be my last fair for this year or if I should go into December.  I think my hubby is getting burnt out!  He misses his Sunday naps.  It is nice talking with everyone and seeing familiar faces.  It's nice to talk about stamping and crafting with others who share that same interest.  People ask me about my coloring and all I can say is "practice!"  If you look at my early cards, they didn't look how they do now.  I think my style has changed and evolved.  Less papers and more about the image than the background.  These are a couple of cards I was trying to complete for last week's fair but...

Hello!  Wow, it is a hot day today!  Spent the morning with my youngest at a small pumpkin patch.  It was so hot we couldn't stay very long but we got strawberry lemonade and that was yummy. You would think that going into my 3rd craft fair I'd be better prepared but not really.  There is always something more I could be doing but I think I'm just gonna stop for now.  I'm so tired!  Plus today is laundry day and I have to cook dinner so the most I can do is take inventory and pack everything for the fair tomorrow. Hello!  If you've been keeping up with my blog or fb page (personal or business), you know I was at another craft fair, the Moanalua 99 Craft Fair this past Sunday.  It was actually the first time we had been there since 99 Ranch Market closed up so didn't know what it would be like at all.  We like to stalk or check out the fairs before hand and then sign up but this one didn't work out like that.  I was kind of lost even though I had a map!  But the regular vendors were all so nice and they tried to help us find our spot.  Funny that they didn't know what space number they were but just that they always set up in that particular space.  Eventually we found our 5x6 foot space, at least we think that was the right space. One of the highlights of this fair was meeting Jayne, from Handmade Cuties blog and she has a cute Etsy store called Bead Crumbs too.  You should check it out.  She makes the tiniest and cutest beaded creations.  I h...

Hello!  Yesterday I finished making up 30 penguin tags for the upcoming craft fair I'll be at.  Seems like there is never enough time to make everything you want to make, right?  I guess it's partly because I want to make everything!  I am trying to cut back on that!  I still have lots to pack up and inventory.  I think that might be my least favorite part of this whole venture.  All the paper work and keeping track of everything makes my brain hurt.  But I want to start so I am not rushing at the last minute. These cute penguins are from Mama Elephant.  But the speech bubble, to and heart is from Lawn Fawn.  I did some masking to place the penguin's Santa hat and then to place him onto the floating iceberg. Hello!  I am taking a break from house chores.  Plus it is just too hot and humid to clean.  But I know the house has long been neglected while I crafted and packed and crafted and packed some more for the craft fair.  After I organized all my inventory, I cleaned my craft area and even wiped up the floor.  Amazingly dirty.  Hopefully I can get to vacuuming tomorrow and maybe some more laundry. Anyway, for the most part, I think I enjoyed the craft fair.  There was a lot of waiting around but at least my hubby and daughter were there to keep me company.  I don't know how people can do this on their own.  It's nice to have some support especially when it gets busy.  I finally met Linda from the Sister Stamps DT too.  And I met another person who mentioned she reads my blog!  How nice!  I wish I had asked her for her name.  But you know, I am kind of socially slow so hopefully next time.  It's a nice feeling to...

Hello!  I haven't posted since the first of July!  Mostly I've been getting ready for my first craft fair.  It's the Craft, Gift and Rubber Stamp Expo at the Blaisdell Center Hawaii Suite on Sunday, July 26th from 9 am to 3 pm.  Free admission too so if you're in the area, stop by and say hello!  It's never too early to shop for Xmas, is it?  Plus I'll have my used stamps and dies for sale as well so lots of good deals.
