Happy 2014!!

Hello all!  Happy New Year!  We still have a few more hours before we welcome 2014.  The kiddies are trying to stay awake til then but we'll see how long they last before they fall asleep.  I may fall asleep before midnight too.  I am already getting a bit sleepy.  Plus my mother has planned a breakfast service at 8 am!  I'm not sure how we're gonna manage that. I am still trying to play a bit of catch up from Christmas!  Because I was kind of poor at managing my time and made those stockings and gingerbread men, I didn't have enough time to make my goal of 20 calendars.  Yes, I know that sounds crazy as well.  I only had time to make 4 calendars for my daughter's teachers packed with a gift card by the time school got out for break.  I didn't even have time to take a photo of them.  But I've made 6 more since then.  This batch was all for the doctors and staff of my kids' pediatrician office. I used Sister Stamps for all of these calendars.  They

CC Designs January 2014 Preview -- Day 2

Hi again!  I have another sweet Valentine's image from CC Designs to share with you today.  All of these January images will be available for purchase on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 9 am CST. This sweet gal is called Love Letter Lucy.  Isn't she so precious?  I colored her bright in red and pink so she could contrast with the kraft paper (from Doodlebug's Sweetheart paper pad) I wanted to use on this card.  The sentiment on the heart is from Adoring You.  The heart is a die cut from the Grunge Envelope die set .  I added the pink ribbon for a pop of color too.  I love the kraft with bright colors. Here is a close up of Lucy. Be sure to see what the rest of the DT has created too. Thanks so much for stopping by.

CC Designs January 2014 Preview -- Roberto's Rascals

Hello!  I know Christmas was just last week and it's not quite the New Year yet but CC Designs is moving on ahead to our next big creative occasion, Valentine's Day!  I know all you crafters like to plan ahead, and it was a fun break for me to make this Valentine's project after making all the Christmas stuff. This sweet image is Roberto's Rascals Blowing Kisses.  I followed this tutorial to make this treat box.  The sentiment is from Adoring You and those hearts are a new die, Heart Border die from CC Designs.  And I got to use the new Doodlebug paper pad called Sweetheart.  I love the kraft papers in this pad. Here is a close up of the heart shaped bubbles that I covered with Stickles.  Those red hearts are from the border die that I didn't want to just discard. Please head over to the CC Designs blog to catch more of the preview. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Chi Chi Memories Post #4

Hi everyone!  Hope you all had a wonderful holiday.  I think I am starting to feel a bit lazy and just want to recover from all the food eating and present opening.  It's bad to eat chocolates and desserts for breakfast and well, all throughout the day.  Anyway, here is my card featuring Chi Chi Memories A Joyful Season digi image.  I kept this one pretty simple since it's such a busy time of the year.  I did get to play around with some of my new embossing enamel and some glitters.  I tried hard not to get my crafty area too messy. Here is a close up of the image and the embossing and glitter. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Merry Christmas!

Hello everyone!  I feel like I still have a lot to do including cleaning the house again because I've been neglecting all the cleaning so I can finish all the Christmas stuff.  Today, I got a lot of organizing done and donated 4 bags of clothes, toys and books to Goodwill.  But our poor bathrooms and kitchen are still neglected.  Hopefully, I can get onto that tomorrow.  I wanted to share the goodies I made for my son's Kindergarten class.  I spent about 4-5 days to finish these. I used the stocking die from Sizzix to cut out 19 felt stockings.  I hand stitched them and added a loop so the kids could hang them on their tree.  I hot glued the red pieces.  Originally I was gonna do red stockings with white trim but the green felt was on clearance so I went with those and changed the trim to red. Then I used the gingerbread die from Sizzix to make 19 felt gingerbread men.  They are double sided since the die cuts all the eye and button holes, and the mouth.  I glued blac

Chi Chi Memories Post #3

Hello!  So I just completed my huge project for my youngest one's Kindergarten class.  I will share that on another day.  I have a few more things to complete tonight so I will make this a short post.  I have another Chi Chi Memories project to share today.  This digi is available in the A Joyful Season set.  Such a cute bear!  I decided to try a recessed window card and the tutorial I more or less followed can be found HERE .  It looks complicated but it's not too bad once you get all the measurements straight. Here is a close up of the image.  I've added lots of stickles and some pearl accents too. Here is a different angle so you can see the recessed window part. This is a close up of the sentiment which is from CC Designs.  Another winter birthday card.  Love these pierced tag dies from MFT. Alright, I gotta go and finish up some calendars.  I hope I have time to get them down tonight! Thanks so much for visiting!

CC Designs December Review --Snowman Flakes

Hello!  This will be a quick post as I am trying to finish up a whole lot of last minute things.  Where exactly does time go?  Though I guess I did a lot of procrastinating too! It's December review time over at CC Designs .  Here is my snowflake ornament featuring Snow Flakes .  I actually bought a foam activity kit for kids from Walmart to make these snowflakes.  It was such a great deal and my youngest will be making his own along with his classmates on the last day of school.  Theirs will be a little different in that they will use their photo for the center of their snowflakes.  But I made this as kind of a sample for them and as something to hang on our tree too.  I tied on a tag and a little snowman button too. Here's a close up of him.  He is so fast to color up.  You could make a lot of fast Xmas projects with this guy. That's it for now.  Hope you are all getting your shopping done.  I think I am but now there is a lot of wrapping to do. Thanks so muc

Chi Chi Memories -- Post #2

Hello!  Here I am again to share another Chi Chi Memories project using one of their newly released December images called A Joyful Season.  It's available now HERE . I've made a little gift card box following the tutorial HERE over at Splitcoast Stampers.  I've been using a lot of their tutorials lately.  They have a lot of great ones.  My daughter's friend is celebrating a winter birthday so we got her a gift card and I thought this image would be totally cute for it.  And the sentiment from CC Designs was just a perfect fit. Here's another view. Close up of the image. Here's how it opens.  Pretty neat, huh?  I like that little cut out to insert the gift card and it's not that hard to do. There was even a little skinny place in the box to add this cute little beaded charm.  My daughter thought her friend would like this little birdie since it's blue and that's her friend's favorite color.  You can find these cute little b

Fat Bear Stamps

Hi all!  I have a non-DT project to share with you today.  So I love these pierced tags from MFT!  Love the banner dies and these giftcard holder dies too.  So fun to put these giftcard holder tags together.  You all understand the sentiment means Be Merry and not Merry B, right?  Sometimes I wonder about my hubby.  It's kind of obvious to me but it wasn't to him. I also made matching envelopes with my new Envelope Punch Board.  I kind of made them look like those manilla envelopes by folding them a little differently. Here is the front of the envelopes.  These are stamps from Forever Friends.  I call them Fat Bear stamps.  I used to have these fat bears as stuffed toys, on stationary and cards and cups too but now can't find them here at all.  They have them online but from England.  I bought this stamp from 7 Kids and while they are cute, the quality isn't so great.  Kind of disappointed in that and happy I only ordered this one stamp. I traced over t

Warm Winter Wishes

Hi everyone!  I have a card to share today that I made for Perfect Paper Crafting's Featured Artist of the Month.  My card is up on their Facebook page. I used this Tiddly Inks image called Winter Wryn .  I actually had her colored up last Christmas!  She's been sitting in my box of images for a whole year.  I know that is sad so I finally got her on a card.  I used my Perfect Layers ruler for all the mats including the ones around the sentiments.  Snowflakes and icicle border are from CC Designs. Here is a close up of Wryn.  It's been a whole year -- I think I still color the same.  No noticeable improvements. I'll be entering this in a challenge too -- Tiddly Inks Challenge #123 . Hope you're all enjoying the weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Chi Chi Memories Post #1

Hi everyone!  I have the wonderful opportunity to guest design for Chi Chi Memories for the months of December and January.  If you haven't seen their digi images yet, check them out!  They are very cute!  They even offer freebies!  Check their blog HERE for freebies and challenge info.  Click HERE for their online store.  For my first project I used this cute guy from their new December release called A Joyful Season .  He can be purchased as a set with other cute winter images or as a single.  I made this treat holder following a SCS tutorial HERE . Here is another angle of the holder.  I already made a tag to fill in once I decide who to give this to. Here is a close up of the image. All his presents remind me of my goal to mail out my Xmas gifts and cards this Saturday.  I hope I make it! Thanks so much for reading!

CC Designs December Preview -- Swiss Pixies

Hello!  We're on our last day of previews for CC Designs December release .  I have a simple but fun card to share today. This new image is called Pocket Birgitta.  Totally sweet in her winter wear.  The sentiment is from Freezin' Season and influenced my card design.  I punched that teeny snowflake next to the sentiment from some patterned paper with my hole punch.  I used my polka dots embossing folder and then used CC Cutter It's Snowing dies to cut out the snowflakes.  From this view it looks like I just glued the snowflakes on the card. But I inlaid the snowflakes into the white cardstock so that they are flat.  I carefully put the white centers back in too.  I had to rotate the snowflakes til they were a perfect fit. Here is a close up of Pocket Birgitta.  I did the same with those blue snowflakes. This is the inside of the card. Only a few more days til the end of school and Christmas.  I feel like I have lots to do still.  Hopefully I can get every
