Sister Stamps

Hi!  Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments in my previous post !  I'm still really excited and can't wait til I can share my first TGF post!  I know I have to get back into a regular posting routine.  Still just hard to find time to craft these days.  I spend so much time just driving!  I realized the other day that it takes me more than an hour to pick up my last 2 kiddies from each of their schools in the afternoon.  So by the time I get home, my butt is sore from sitting so long!  I love Friday afternoons when I know I can start coloring and stamping.  Last night I finished up a set of cards using Sister Stamps new release.  This has got to be my favorite release of theirs.  So much so that I went to buy them at Cute Stuff the day they were released only to find that the one I really love was already sold out!  What the heck?  I guess everyone else loves it too!  But I did complete the set the next day ...

Cheeky Geeky and Some News!!!

Hi!  I have some exciting news to share today!  Cheryl and I are now Brand Ambassadors for Perfect Layers !  Click the link or the banner on the right or bottom of this blog to see what Perfect Layers are about if you are unfamiliar with them.  There is a video which can explain how these rulers work much better than I can.  I just tried out my new set of rulers last night to create mats/layers for today's card.   Sorry if the pictures are a bit dark.  I really wanted to try the rulers out!  Each ruler creates different size mats. I usually mat my papers one sixteenth of an inch all around. I had cut some paper to size and glued it to the cardstock I wanted to use. Then I placed my ruler so that my paper would catch in the lip of the ruler and I cut the excess cardstock off with my xacto knife.   I did that for all the sides and came out with a nice mat for my paper. This is how I had my papers positioned wi...

Nymph Lucy

Hi!  I've been sick this whole week since I think I have the flu that my youngest had.  It literally kicked my butt and I had to sleep early every night like 8 or 9 and then sleep some more after dropping off the kids.  So even though I wanted to make this next card, it took me a while to put together.  This is for the following challenges:  iCopic Weekly Challenge #78 -- Spring Colors , Sweet Stampin' Pixies Challenge #2 -- Use Kraft ,  All That Scraps -- Anything Goes , and Anyone For Anya -- Sketch . I love the recent releases over at CC Designs, especially Nymph Lucy.  I don't know why but she's so darn cute.  If you've been a long time follower you would know that I had a hard time loving images that lacked a mouth.  It's because they could look spooky to some degree, couldn't they?  Like some scary horror story (Obake!).  So it even took me a while to use TGF's Miss Anya stamps.  Even my kids will notice that fir...

sweet baby

Hi!  Happy April!  The months are definitely flying by.  And the weather here is so nice today!  So much better than the rain and thunderstorms we had some time ago.  But I know in a few days I'll be complaining that it's too hot.  Hehe. Recently, I broke down and finally ordered the cute little elephant named Bella from Wild Rose Studio .  Just like how I did when I saw the cute penguin, Pickles last Christmas.  All of the Bella stamps are so adorable!  I picked Bella Sleeping for this card to play along with iCopic Weekly Challenge #76 -- For a Child and used All That Scraps sketch . Is she just the cutest little elephant ever?  She looks so soft and cuddly.  I also bought the matching Bella paper pad! I colored the image with Copics.  I also rubbed some chalk over the flowers and for the light blue sky which may be difficult to see.  The tiny tag and sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I don't even know anyone ...

Masa & Akemi

Hi!  I won some cute stamps from Sister Stamps recently so I thought I'd put together Easter treats for my kiddies' teachers.  I had actually won 2 Masas but Jenny was nice enough to switch one so I got Akemi too! I made 9 little treats, 7 Akemis and 2 Masas in different colors.  I used PTI's favor die and picket fence die.  Also used MFT's grass die. These are kind of small so I could only fill each one with 5 Nestle Crunch eggs.  Here are all the girls. A close up.  Cute!  Love the bunnies! I also used PTI's Tiny Tags die to cut little flower shaped tags and embossed Happy Easter on them. The 2 boys.   I colored his hair with Copics but I used a black Prismacolor Pencil on the blue one's hair which is why they look a bit different.  Just experimenting. Oh, I also have to share this card that my youngest one made as he asked that I blog it too.  Crab is from Paper Smooches and the shell from Lawn Fawn.  The coloring a...

Altered handbag

Hi!  I was a bit bored this past weekend so I fiddled around on Blogger and finally figured out how to add tabs at the top of our blog.  So our blog got a little face-lift.  Hehe.  Anyway, I thought now would be a good time to start making some teacher gifts since I was lucky enough to find some alterable products at a local store for 75% off!  I should've bought more but I wasn't sure what the products would be like and even though they were really inexpensive, I didn't want to spend too much.  And iCopic's Weekly Challenge #71 is Anything BUT a card so I get to play along!  So this is what I bought.  It's from Kaisercraft.  I think it's made from MDF so it's pretty sturdy. I painted one set purple and another one pink though I will save the pink one for a different project.  I used acrylic paint that my husband has had for years too.  So this project will be fairly inexpensive.  Excuse the tofu container.  Tofu cont...

Fairwee Mia Wish

Hi!  Some time ago, I won a little blog candy from Amy Young and yes, I know it's taken me a long time to finally ink up little Fairwee Mia.  But I finally did and created a circle easel card for the following challenges: Flutter By Wednesdays #191 has an inspiration photo, All that Scraps Wednesday Challenge is to use a fancy fold, and Lollipop Crafts Challenge #68 is anything goes. I used Sweet November stamp Fairwee Mia and also the mushroom from CC Designs.  I used 2 stamps that I haven't inked up before so while I did purchase some digis recently, I'm still trying to get through to all my uninked stamps.  The Wish sentiment is from PTI's Tiny Tags set. This is how it looks opened.  I used clear cardstock for the front circle so Fairwee Mia can look like she is flying above the mushroom.  Though if you are like my hubby you will ask why is she trying to jump over the mushroom?  Sigh, because she's a fairy with wings and not a tiny lit...
