crafting this and that

Hello!  Happy belated Easter!  Hope it was enjoyable!  We did the usual egg coloring and family dinner.  Then today I cooked a turkey, mashed potatoes and even made gravy.  I think my gravy actually turned out pretty good.  But now I have to get going and start packing up for the craft fair this Sunday, April 3rd.  I actually have to make a ton more cards. Probably got a bit distracted by crocheting again!  Here is a little bunny amigurumi, pattern by Stephanie Lau (All About Ami) .  I love her blog and her patterns!  There are a few more patterns I'd like to try.  And then I learned that my bunny is inside out.  I guess I wondered when I made my first amigurumi if there was a right side and wrong side and it's been a few years since I crocheted so completely forgot about that and so this bunny ended up inside out.  But still cute!  Here is the bunny after I crocheted all the parts. Hello!  We are on Spring Break and our days have gotten a little bit lazy.  Takes me a while in the morning to finish my coffee and get onto chores and crafting.  It's nice to have some time to relax and not rush off anywhere.  But I still have the crafting bug and want to make a ton of stuff.  When I get that kind of feeling, I usually don't know where to start and end up feeling lost.  I usually try to clean my craft area first and start with something small and keep going. I saw this cute tutorial about making a bunny from just a crochet or knit square.  There are a few tutorials out in blogland and they are all similar to this one HERE .  I don't know how to knit so I looked for a crochet version and found this video HERE .  So I crocheted a square using a smaller than usual hook and the square turned out about 6 inches or so. Hello!  Hmm, I did not know what to title this post since I wanted to share different themed cards.  So, sorry about the weird post title.  Recently I got a new laser printer so I've been printing out some digital images to color.  It's like rediscovering all these cute images I've had stored on my computer. But before I share the cards with digital images, I thought I'd sneak this one in too.  It's another baby card similar to the ones in the previous post but gender neutral.  I like the cute duck!  Anyway, same details, image is from The Greeting Farm and sentiment from Papertrey Ink . I scrolled through my digi images and found all these Wryns by Tiddly Ink so I made this cute and simple Easter card.  Those little bunnies are irresistible! Hello!  Just wanted to share my last Easter project.  I made these felt Peeps bunnies using a template I found here .  There are lots of templates out there and you could of course make your own but I thought these were cute.  I did make mine a little different.  I didn't add that long strip between the front and back.  Mostly cause I'm lazy, haha.  But they're still cute! So here are the 3 I made for my 3 kiddies.  I added a little heart button on all of them and used a blanket stitch to close them up after adding a little bit of stuffing.  Hardest was trying to get the stuffing into the ears! Here is the backside.  I added some white pom poms that I had leftover from the mice I made at Xmas time for their tails.  Cute and funny! Hello!  Hope you're all enjoying the weekend.  I spent most of today cleaning and cooking and there is still more to cook and clean!  I finally got around to taking some photos of the Easter chicks I made for my youngest one's class.  I've been wanting to sew up something cute using felt and was lingering on Pinterest one day and came across this site .  Such cute creations but I obviously don't have anything as fancy as that machine!  I love the clear tummy idea so I thought about how I could make something similar with the materials and tools I had. I got my largest oval Spellbinders die to cut out the chick's body and a smaller circle die for the tummy.  The chick's feathers, beak and wings were cut out using Taylored Expressions chick dies.  Then I wondered what I could use for the clear part of his tummy and I didn't want to buy anything extra like clear vinyl.  So I used my clear contact paper.  I just folded a piece large ...

Hello!  I had to finish these Easter treats for my youngest one's class a bit earlier since the boys have an extra day off this week.  It's a 4 day weekend for them.  I kept holding off on making these treats cause I thought I had a lot of time since Easter seems late this year but I forgot to take into account the holidays. Anyway, I really like these sack-it dies from Taylored Expressions.  I discovered the Xmas ones too late but was just on time for the Easter ones.  Here is the little Easter chick.  So cute, right?  I fit 2 fruit roll ups in each of these. A bunch of them all together.  Here's the bunny.  This one is pretty time consuming to make because of all the die cutting and layering.  It went faster after doubling up the thinner cardstock to make multiple cuts in one pass through my Big Shot. Hi!  I won some cute stamps from Sister Stamps recently so I thought I'd put together Easter treats for my kiddies' teachers.  I had actually won 2 Masas but Jenny was nice enough to switch one so I got Akemi too! I made 9 little treats, 7 Akemis and 2 Masas in different colors.  I used PTI's favor die and picket fence die.  Also used MFT's grass die. These are kind of small so I could only fill each one with 5 Nestle Crunch eggs.  Here are all the girls. A close up.  Cute!  Love the bunnies! I also used PTI's Tiny Tags die to cut little flower shaped tags and embossed Happy Easter on them. The 2 boys.   I colored his hair with Copics but I used a black Prismacolor Pencil on the blue one's hair which is why they look a bit different.  Just experimenting. Hi!  Today I want to share the Easter treats my daughter will be passing out to her classmates.  There are 29 kids in her class!  I think that is way too many.  My son's kindergarten class has 23.  I think that is more manageable but still a lot of kids to teach especially a bunch of active little kindergartners. Here are the treats for the boys.  I did all the cutting and my daughter picked out all the stamps and did the stamping, coloring, gluing, packing and also the cleaning of the stamps!  She loves to clean stamps.  I used PTI's lunch box die and taped the ends to make like an envelope.  It was big enough to slide in 2 silly bands.  For the boys, she used PTI's Tag-its #2 for the circle border and the bunny from PTI's Tiny Treats Valentine's set.  She colored the bunnies with pencils and gave some of them fun designs and even colored in the backgrounds.  You may have to click on the photo to see it better. Hi!  Well, Cheryl and I have actually made our one year blogging anniversary!  Happy Blog Anniversary, Cheryl!  Hmm, we're not quite sure how to celebrate it.  What should we do? This week I'll also be sharing projects my kids have made.  Simon Says Stamp is having a special children's challenge .  And since I have 3 kids and they all like to craft, it may take this whole week to post their projects!  I'll try to keep it short. These are just some simple goody bags filled with Easter grass and 3 mini eggs in each bag.  Each mini egg has 2 silly bands--those fun shaped rubber bands that kids seem to love to collect.  I cut the tags from PTI's Fillable Frames 9 and my son stamped the Easter egg from PTi's Tag-its #1 and wrote his friends' names on them.  The boys got the Easter egg tags.
