crafting this and that

Hello, just popping in with 2 quick Mother's Day cards before I send them off to the grandmas.  Can't believe it's May already and I actually made something.  I wasn't really planning on making anything, but sometimes it's fun to just sit around and make cards.  Maybe I was procrastinating, didn't want to get around to doing the not so fun chores and what not. Anyhow, I used the sketch from CPS #262 , unfortunately it took me so long to make the card that I didn't have time to do a post, so the deadline for that week's challenge has come and gone... But here's my card anyhow. I can't keep track of all the names of my stamps anymore and I'm too lazy to go look them up, but this is a Milton stamp colored with pencils.  I tried to do that partial die cutting thing with the image sticking out of the circle.  Made my own text and polka background paper using background stamps from Papertrey Ink.  I like the idea of those background stamps ...

And here's my 2nd card.  I actually didn't follow any sketch this time since the image was so huge!  I got this Milton stamp from the recent All That Scraps sale.  Now I'm thinking I should have gotten more while they were on sale! Anyhow, I mostly just spent all my time coloring.  The image fit nicely within the largest lattice rectangle.  I just had to trim the card base down to 5.25 inches and rounded all the corners.  The sentiment is from a Borders and Corners set from Papertrey Ink, punched with a Marvy punch (yes, I actually bought the matching punch just so I could use it with these rectangle stamps so I guess I should make things more often!).  The red ink is from Technique Tuesday that I got during a class that I took at a Creating Keepsakes convention a few years ago.  It stamped pretty nicely.  I'm still looking for a nice brand of ink that has a nice range of colors.  I'm thinking at some point I may try the new Ranger Archi...

Well, no snow for us here, of course but I still love this little stamp from Milton & Co.  I made this card to take a break from my calendar making.  He was fun to color and I got to play with flower soft.  The sentiment is from PTI's Tiny Treats Xmas set. And what a cute birdie! This will be a short post.  I'm off to finish some gifts for the kiddies' teachers.  Only 2 more days of school left!  Thanks for reading and hope you're having a great week!
