nuts and bolts

Hello!  Today I'll be sharing the last amigurumi I made during my crochet frenzy.  I haven't been crocheting much recently except for this one little project I'm kind of procrastinating with.  I really do love this last one because I think it came out really cute. This is a little crocheted robot designed by Bubblegum Belles .  You can find the pattern HERE .  Sometimes I purchase the patterns especially if they are really cute.  But a lot of designers do list their patterns for free too on their blogs so I always check to see if they have a blog or not.  It's also important to read their pattern listing too if you are purchasing to see whether they are for personal use or also for commercial use.  Here is a different view of him.  Happy that he is able to sit on his bottom.  I actually cut out 2 felt hearts using a heart die, blanket stitched them together, and then hot glued the heart to the robot.  I tried stitching one h...

Happy Purr-thday

Hello!  Just a quick stop in today to share a cute amigurumi kitten. I crocheted this using a pattern by Sarah Sloyer.  You can find the pattern HERE .  The trickiest part were the ears but she has a video tutorial which really helps. I really like the profile of this kitty.  He looks so plump! And I like the stripes on his back and the tail too. I stamped a punny cat tag for this kitty too.  The stamps are from MFT. Hope you are enjoying the weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy to be stuck with you

Hello all!  I still have a few more amigurumi to share.  See, I have been crocheting more!  It's been keeping my hands busy.   Here is a kawaii cactus I crocheted from a pattern by Super Cute Design .  I actually got the pattern for the cactus bunnies but decided not to put the bunny ears and face on the pot.  Instead, I added facial features to the cactus.  The cactus bunnies are cute but I do love the face on the cactus too.  I added this skinny tag that I stamped with a sentiment from My Favorite Things. This cactus is so sweet and fits in the palm of my hand.  I used Lion Brand's 24/7 cotton yarn except for the flower on top which is acrylic yarn, I think probably from Red Heart yarn. I have two more crocheted projects to share.  Hopefully I'll post about them soon. Thanks so much for stopping by!

wishing you good fortune

Hello all!  It's a pretty dark and rainy morning today.  Hoping we get some sunshine soon because we have plans to be outdoors later. Today I have another cute amigurumi to share.  I used a pattern by lalylala .  She's got a very unique style for sure and I love her imagination.  She has an Etsy store too HERE .  I decided to try her maneki neko pattern which comes in her New Year's Eve pattern set.  It is really cute! He's only a few inches tall and fits in my hand.  I used Lion Brand 's 24/7 cotton yarn with a 2.0mm hook.  I did have to do his legs a couple times to get it right and almost did give up but happy I got to finish him cause he is really cute. He has a tail and that actually helps to prop him up a bit because he doesn't stand on his own two feet!  Changing yarn colors in this pattern was not too difficult either once you get the hang of it. I like his paw that is raised inviting good fortune. I made a tag ...

you octopi my heart!

Hello!  Did you notice I changed the look of the blog?  Thinking I wanted a change especially since it's the new year and still January, and I noticed lots of things like my bloglist was really out of date.  I guess people don't blog as much as they used to, myself included. Today I have this cute amigurumi octopus to share!  Isn't it adorable?  This is from a pattern by the Left-Handed Crocheter you can find HERE .  She has lots of photos of different octopus she has made and they are all adorable!  I made mine on the smaller size but she also has a pattern for a huge one which I may try at a later time. You can also prop him up on his legs!  I made him using Caron Simply Soft yarn and a 2.75mm hook. Also made this tag to go along with him.  The stamps are from Lawn Fawn and the tag itself is from My Favorite Things and Mama Elephant.  Really a mish mash of dies and stamps. Here they are together!  A cute little gi...

first post of 2018!

Hi all!  Happy New Year!  Even though it is almost the end of January already.  I'm still trying to get my motivation back after the long holiday break I took in December.  I have mental lists of things I'd like to finish and things I need to start.  I still have calendars to make!  I think that is something that will never change. This is a snowman I crocheted in December following a pattern by Holly from Storyland Amis .  She has some cute patterns in her shop!  I've bought up a whole bunch of her Christmas ones but have not finished them all.  This was the first one I tried and her patterns are simple to follow and there are lots of photos!  I like when there are lots of photos. He is a little larger than the amigurumis I usually make.  I tend to make smaller things because I'm kind of impatient.  But this guy came out pretty cute!  His hat and scarf comes off too!  So you could make a whole other color com...

batty for you

Hello!  I just finished up this cute baby bat amigurumi.  I made it following a pattern I purchased HERE .  My bat turned out a bit smaller because I used a smaller crochet hook and my yarn is a bit thinner. Isn't he adorable?!  His wings can open and close too. Here he is hanging on my finger.  My finger looks really short here.  I guess I really do have short little fingers.  He is a cute project to make for Halloween. Lately I have been multicrafting (like multitasking but just for craft projects).  Can I trademark that term, multicrafting?  No one steal that, please.  I think it has helped me get more done.  I have set up different areas for different tasks.  I have a stamping/coloring area, diecutting area and crocheting area.  I used to try to finish one project at a time but I realized my attention is too short, and I would get bored or tired of my current project but couldn't go on to another one cause I ...

amigurumi polar bear

Hello!  Monday again!  I was worried about back to school traffic because more schools started today but it wasn't so bad.  It's actually Thursday I'm worried about because that's when my daughter starts and her school definitely adds to the traffic. Today I have a super cute project to share.  I love this pattern I found HERE .  It is also from the same blog as the star pattern. See the little white polar bear?  So adorable!  He is hanging out with the star and my new crochet hook and bent needle.  I love that bent needle too.  Such an amazing tool to help with sewing up loose ends and attaching those tiny ears and parts. Here is a better view.  I used safety eyes again.  And glued felt pieces for his ears and nose.  Usually he is sitting on my desk but I think my boys have taken him.  They love him too.  He is probably sitting in their room somewhere. Hope you are enjoying the day!  Thanks so much f...

amigurumi cupcake

Hello!  I have been crocheting a lot this summer.  I've made a few scarves, a wrap and some amigurumi.  But crocheting hurts my hand because I think I hold the yarn kind of tightly with my left hand especially when I make amigurumi.  I'm trying to not make the gaps between the stitches so big.  So recently I bought myself a Clover hook and that is so much better!  My hands don't hurt as much and I can crochet a lot longer.  Just need to buy them in all the different sizes but each one is a bit pricey.  Anyway, saw this super cute cupcake HERE .  She made them into pincushions and they all look adorable with their little faces.  I had to make one of these! Here is my version.  I placed poly pellets in the bottom of the cupcake so it could be more like a paper weight.  I added a small pom pom that I made and added clear seed beads on the top of the pink "frosting."  I added a tag too because we decided to give this...

Happy Easter! (a little late)

Hello!  Happy belated Easter!  Hope it was enjoyable!  We did the usual egg coloring and family dinner.  Then today I cooked a turkey, mashed potatoes and even made gravy.  I think my gravy actually turned out pretty good.  But now I have to get going and start packing up for the craft fair this Sunday, April 3rd.  I actually have to make a ton more cards. Probably got a bit distracted by crocheting again!  Here is a little bunny amigurumi, pattern by Stephanie Lau (All About Ami) .  I love her blog and her patterns!  There are a few more patterns I'd like to try.  And then I learned that my bunny is inside out.  I guess I wondered when I made my first amigurumi if there was a right side and wrong side and it's been a few years since I crocheted so completely forgot about that and so this bunny ended up inside out.  But still cute!  Here is the bunny after I crocheted all the parts. Here she is sewed together....

tuxedo sam!

Hello!  Wow, see another post!  I am trying to be productive here but seriously I think maybe it's time for me to head out and get a part time job?  Maybe that is why I'm kind of restless these days.  I'm in the process of sewing up some cute Halloween things.  And I just finished my youngest one's costume.  It isn't anything fancy but I think it's funny and cute.  I just need to find him some white shorts. Today, I'm sharing a little Tuxedo Sam that I crocheted.  I found the tutorial HERE .  I love all the little things she makes especially the Sanrio stuff and she has a new book out with patterns of a lot of characters.  It's listed on Amazon HERE and I haven't bought it so I don't know how the pattern in the book compares with the free ones she has on her blog. I added a little purple clip so my daughter could hang it up some where if she wanted to but he does stand on his own which I'm happy about.  He is pretty fat with ...

Hoot! Hoot!

Hi!  I would've started writing this post earlier but I'm a little addicted to watching The Voice so I had to watch that first and I even washed all the dinner dishes in 30 minutes so I could just sit on the couch.  But I'm slightly disappointed.  Nothing really stood out tonight.  Last week I really loved Pink's Perfect.  I mean Javier was good tonight but we kind of already knew that.  Anyway, on to my project. A couple of days ago or so I got my Lion Brand e-newsletter and they had this cute grad owl amigurumi (pattern number 80282AD) so I had to check out the site.  But then I found an even cuter owl (pattern number L0256AD) so decided to go with that one instead.  Plus it was smaller so I thought it would be faster for me to make.  Then I thought I'd make a matching card for TGF's Farm Fresh Friday Challenge to make a Congrats card . Here's a pic of the owl.  Isn't she the cutest?!  She's just 3 inches tall without the grad...
