Sister Stamps Release #19 -- Mochi Pounding

Please click here for My Mind's Eye & Perfect Paper Crafting Blog Hop. ******************************************************************************* Hello again!  Welcome to the last day of previews for Sister Stamps Release #19 .  All of these cute stamps will be available November 1st.  We're continuing with the mochi theme.  The last image is called Mochi Pounding.  We celebrate New Year's by making mochi with my hubby's family.  They don't pound out the mochi but use the steamer and some modern mochi cooker I guess.  I don't know because I'm not involved with that phase of the mochi making.  Mostly the guys do that.  And the mochi is super hot when it comes out.  The ladies all wait patiently to roll and form the mochi into nice little mounds.  We have a list of how many to make.  We put one in our house and in each of our cars!  I don't know if you put them in your cars as well.  So the ones for the cars are smaller and pretty cute!

Sister Stamps Release #19 -- Hideo & Mieko (again!)

Please click here for My Mind's Eye & Perfect Paper Crafting Blog Hop. ********************************************************************************* Hello!  Welcome to another day of Sister Stamps Release #19 !  These stamps will be available November 1st.  So besides mochi and money, the New Year's Day also reminds me of calendars.  And I know there are many crafters that make calendars every year.  I make quite a few too because they make great little gifts. Again, I decided to make a boy and girl version of my project.  These are perpetual calendars that I made using some dies from CC Designs.  I did a tutorial on these HERE .  Yes, they can be a little time consuming to make cause of all those alphabet dies but so worth it in the end.  And it does move fast once you get the hang of cutting out all those letters. This is the first one I made using Mieko.  I wanted this to look especially girly so lots of pink.  I used some gold paper that I bought fr

Sister Stamps Release #19 -- Hideo & Mieko

Please click here for My Mind's Eye & Perfect Paper Crafting Blog Hop. *********************************************************************************** Hello!  Welcome to Sister Stamps Release #19!  Have you been checking out the introductory posts by Jenny on the Sister Stamps blog ?  Don't miss the chance to win one of these cuties.  Aren't these images just perfect for New Year's? I made some New Year's money gift holders.  I saw this idea of using MFT's vertical gift card holder onto some layered tags and thought it was so fun.  Problem -- no layering tag dies.  So I used my Perfect Layers rulers to make the tags around the gift card holder.  I think it was 3/8th inch around the 3 sides and then 1 inch on the top.  Then just cut the top corners.  Then I added another thin layer around that tag.  I made this one with Hideo first.  Not very Asian-y colors or papers. Here's a close up.  Love his mochi on a stick.  Our kids lo

Roxie Recently, I saw these layering tags dies and thought I really wanted those.  I love the look of layered tags so I used my Perfect Layers rulers to make some with My Mind's Eye Happy Haunting papers. I have a tag die from Papertrey Ink so I used that as my smaller tag.  I glued that tag onto kraft cardstock and used my ruler to cut a 1/8th inch border around the whole tag.

CC Designs October Review -- Roberto's Rascals

Hello!  It is a review day over at CC Designs .  We're reviewing a bunch of different stamps today so please head over there and check them out.  I made a couple of cards using Roberto's Rascals stamps. This first one features Merry Christmas .  It's a fairly large image so it fills up the whole space!  The sentiment is from AmyR's Scripted Greetings and Fanciful Christmas . I actually fussy cut all around the image and cut out even some of the tiny white spaces.  I cut through the girl's pony tail and then through her wrist to get to some of the white spaces.  But once you glue the image down flat on the card you can't even tell where I cut.  And the grouchy cat makes another appearance! This is my second card featuring I Want That .  Holy smokes, this took me forever to color!  So much details on this image that I kept the rest pretty simple.  I made a big bow which is mostly by accident.  I made the smaller one in the front first then thought t

This is my project featuring Henry Claus .  He is pretty sweet and gotta love his little dog hitching a ride in his sack.  The sentiment on the little tag is from Funny Christmas Sayings . Here is a close up of little Henry. This project looks similar to the other present shaped gift card holder I made HERE .  But it is actually different.  The tutorial can be found HERE .  I changed it up by adding real ribbon.  When you remove the bow, the top and bottom open up. This is the inside.  There is a space for

CC Designs October Preview -- Swiss Pixies

Please click here for Your Next Stamp and Perfect Paper Crafting Blog Hop ************************************************************************************ Hello!  Welcome back to Day 2 of CC Designs October previews.  We're continuing with the Christmas theme. Here is my project featuring Santa's Helper.  Super cute?  I wanted to use some non-traditional Christmas colors too like pink and blue.  And that little present is a new die too called Presents.  Easy to remember.  I attached a small tag onto the ribbon with a bell die and sentiment from Scripted Greetings . Here is a little close up photo.  She has some stickles on her outfit and glossy accents on the ornament and bell. When you undo the bow, the top slides out and you can write a message or maybe attach a gift card.  I found a tutorial for it HERE .  I am slowly trying to build up a stash of gift card holders or cards for all of my kids' teachers. Please head over to CC Designs bl
