crafting this and that

Hello!  I am sharing more baby cards today.  I've been wanting to use more of my kraft cardstock so thought this would be a nice use of them. I used the baby sets from The Greeting Farm for the baby bodysuit and tie.  I cut around the bodysuit and the tie for a little extra dimension instead of just stamping the tie onto the bodysuit.  On a side note, did you know onesie is a trademarked term by Gerber?  Kind of like Kleenex for tissue. The sentiment was made using PTI's Congrats All Ways .  This is a pretty versatile stamp set and has lots of occasions and different fonts too.  As always, I took my Copic microliner to fill in the sentiments and make them a bit darker and bolder. Hello!  Well, it is still very humid these days with lots of rain in between.  Hope the winds come back soon so I can craft more.  It's hard to sew in hot weather!  Here is my first set of shaker tags.  I used the tag dies from MFT and the sentiment and bat are from PTI.  I added some micro beads and sequins from Doodlebug. Here is a set of spiders, also from PTI.  I thought these would look more fun with those wiggly eyes. This is the back of the tags.  I think these would look cute to dress up some special goody bags.  The green ribbon is looped so you could easily tie them on to any treat bags. I just got in these cute silver star sequins.  They are tiny too.  I'll be listing it in my Etsy shop on September 1st.  I think I will try to schedule any new listings for the first of the month just to keep myself from getting overwhelmed. Hello!  I have one last teacher gift to share and also an idea I came up with for my youngest one's classmates. Here's a little jar I decorated with one of those plastic domes.  I ordered a whole bunch of these domes from Amazon cause I guess they are kind of seasonal at our local crafty store and they didn't have them in stock.  I used PTI's school themed petite places stamp set and matching dies.  I think this little school house is so cute.  Then I added a personalized stamped aluminum circle.  Inside the jar is a gift card and I'm so glad I saved the yellow Easter grass my kiddies had in their treats. Here is a close up of the school house. This is what I put together for my youngest one's classmates.  I wanted to use a sentiment with a-maze-ing.  First I thought I could buy those little toy mazes but after looking around online for a while, I found this neat site that generates mazes of all sizes.  Check it out HERE . ...

Hello!  Just popping in to share some cards I made with Winnie & Walter's Addie's Garden.  I wanted this set because it seemed like the images were really easy to water color using distress inks.  Here is the first one I made using the hydrangea stamp.  I heat embossed it in white and just added the distress inks.  The sentiment comes from a PTI set and I heat embossed that in gold. The colors on here are slightly different but the layout is similar to the above card. This is the last one I made using the tulip image.  The sentiment is also from the same PTI set. Hello again!  Today I'm sharing my Sister Stamps cards featuring Kaleo.  If you read my post yesterday, you'll see the cards today are kind of similar.  I was in a distress ink watercoloring kind of mood! So Pua reminded me of Aloha, and Kaleo reminds of Mahalo.  I don't know why but that's just what popped into my head and I went with it.  To me, Kaleo should be singing and playing on the beach somewhere!  Again, I heat embossed the sentiment in white using PTI's alphabet stamps.  I colored 4 Kaleos just varying his hair color and shorts/slippers.  Also added the tiny musical notes from one of Lawn Fawn's background stamps with the rows of musical notes so some selective stamping going on. Hello!  Yay, finally time to share some Sister Stamps projects.  I made these cards a while ago so I may need to refresh my memory of my crafty process.  But it's not too complicated since my cards are usually CAS to begin with. Today, I'm sharing cards I made with Pua.  First of all, isn't she so cute?  Totally reminds me of May Day in Hawaii!  But she is a versatile image perfect for lots of occasions.  When I first saw her, I thought of Aloha so that is the sentiment I went with here made by heat embossing in white and PTI's alphabet stamps.  And rainbows!  Used my distress inks to make the rainbow colored backgrounds.  The right side is a bit brighter but I love the look of both.  I also colored the hair different for each girl and then added little white flowers to her her dress.  You can click on the photo for a bigger view. Hi everyone!  I finished up some crafts this weekend including the Valentine's for my youngest one's classmates.  I mentioned before how I had bought Papertrey Ink's Love You to Pieces: Airplane and die set to make this year's Valentine's.  I'm still not very happy with this set and how it does not work well (for me) with PTI's coasters. Because I couldn't get the die to cut the coaster through evenly, I had to improvise and use some thin chipboard I have that I usually use for the backs of the calendars I make.  Not really happy with using brown chipboard but oh well.  And then stamping on the colors was not so great either.  I wanted to buy new red and blue ink pads but couldn't get to Ben Franklin and so I bought a small square of each color from Walmart.  It was Studio G brand and it's just kind of bad.  The ink doesn't stamp or dry well and stains the stamp like crazy.  I actually soaked the stamps overnight to try to get most of t...

Hello again!  I have another card!  Well, it's been a busy baby season for a lot of people I know, and everyone's having a boy!  So here's another baby boy card.  I need 2 more of these now.  And the only baby stamp set I have is this Greeting Farm one. Colored and cut out all the baby accessories.  Mounted it on a My Favorite Things Die-namics doily.  Embossed the card with a circles folder from Tim Holtz/Sizzix.  Sentiment and banner die cut is from Papertrey Ink.  Going to enter this in The Greeting Farm's Retro Fresh Boy Challenge , embossing challenge , and Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes . Hello.  I know Eva is probably shocked that I actually made something and am posting!  Crafting seems kind of like work, took too long of a break and I got kind of rusty.  I think I forgot how to blog too.  Anyhow, mostly posting now so I can link to some challenges since I needed to make some baby cards. Followed the sketch at Simon Says Stamp ...sketch #1 Used The Greeting Farm's boy baby for the Retro Fresh Boy challenge .  Sentiment is from Paper Smooches.  Maybe a little too much white space but couldn't think of anything else to add.  I actually bought some more Copic markers, excuse the weird coloring of the baby, no blending skills at all, I need more practice...  Dies are from My Favorite Things and Papertrey Ink.  Pretty simple card, had to ease back into cardmaking...

Hi!  I am back with a couple more Thank You cards.  This one features CC Designs Butterfly Lucy.  I think she is just a darling image!  Even if my hubby still thinks she's eating the butterfly.    The sentiment is from PTI.  This was a simple card to make. This one was also pretty simple.  It features TGF's Sing.  The notes are from Lawn Fawn and the sentiments are also from TGF.  I did make a card that was similar to this before.  This was much simpler! Hello.  Quick post, trying to see if I can squeeze in my entry to Eva's Farm Fresh Friday Challenge this week before I don't have time to do it tomorrow.  And I'm also trying to watch the Olympics at the same time as typing. This is the original birthday Anya, figured it might be appropriate for a 1 year old who could end up with birthday cake on her head!  Didn't actually put a sentiment on the outside of the card this time, maybe I'll stamp something on the inside.  Patterned papers are from DCWV Nana's Kids, the bright colors were kind of fun.  Found some neon green paper in my stash, and also used New Leaf, Sweet Blush, and Raspberry Fizz PTI cardstock.  Matted the striped paper with my Perfect Layers rulers .  Die cut the picot circle, circle and scalloped circle nestabilites.  Ribbons are from Michaels, button from PTI.  Used a Doodlebug sticker for the "1."

Hi!  Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments in my previous post !  I'm still really excited and can't wait til I can share my first TGF post!  I know I have to get back into a regular posting routine.  Still just hard to find time to craft these days.  I spend so much time just driving!  I realized the other day that it takes me more than an hour to pick up my last 2 kiddies from each of their schools in the afternoon.  So by the time I get home, my butt is sore from sitting so long!  I love Friday afternoons when I know I can start coloring and stamping.  Last night I finished up a set of cards using Sister Stamps new release.  This has got to be my favorite release of theirs.  So much so that I went to buy them at Cute Stuff the day they were released only to find that the one I really love was already sold out!  What the heck?  I guess everyone else loves it too!  But I did complete the set the next day ...

Hello.  Surprised that it's me again?!  Well, it was nice to take a vacation this past week with both kids at summer camp, although I still had to work a little from home with everything being computerized nowadays... Anyhow, I made another birthday card, based on the last Card Patterns sketch .  And since it's a summer birthday, thought I'd make something for the Sunshine and Summertime Retro Fresh Challenge . So I don't even know the name of this stamp set, it's the Ian and Anya in their undies, that come with all the different outfits.  Colored the aloha shirt with unblended pencil...does it look like those inside out aloha shirts?  Actually tried inking the inverted scallop circle nestability, the mustard seed distress ink happened to match some yellow cardstock that I had (non-PTI, shocking, I know).  The hibiscus paper is something I got a really long time ago from probably one of the first Creating Keepsakes conventions I ever attended, I can'...

Hello.  I was thinking Eva would post something soon, but she must be having a busy summer... Here's a birthday card that I made for the latest Farm Fresh Friday challenge, using ribbon .  And based on the Saturday Sketch on Splitcoaststampers . It's a little strange that all the cards I've made recently end up at Eva's house! You might be wondering where the ribbon is, but I read "twine" somewhere in the challenge description and went with that instead since I wanted to tie some tags on.  Anyhow, this was my first time coloring up Logan, usually I try to pick characters that sort of look like or remind me of the recipient, but don't really know many boys with curly hair.  Tried to color the hair strands straighter, but oh well.  Used Papertrey Ink cardstock in kraft, aqua mist, ocean tides, dark chocolate, and vintage cream, plus their patterned paper, happy birthday stamp and tiny tags die.  The background woodgrain stamp is from Hero Arts stam...
