hello you

Hi!  Just wanted to share this card so I can enter it into TGF's current Farm Fresh Friday . Here is a CAS card featuring Fairy Queen Anya.  She was on my wish list for a while and so happy that TGF put her up in the store.  I didn't think I could do that referral thing to get her.  I colored her up with Copics and wanted her hair to look different so I think I like the way that turned out.  The background was water colored with distress inks.  Then I heat embossed the sentiment and swirly lines using Lawn Fawn's Scripty Sayings.  Pretty quick and easy. Thanks for stopping by!

Flutter Anya

Hello!  How's summer going?  It's been kind of lazy for me but I did craft!  And I actually made something to enter into a challenge.  It's been a long while since I joined in on TGF's Farm Fresh Friday so I thought I'd do the current one Make Your Own Background .  I have been playing around with Faber-Castell's Gelatos to make some backgrounds.  These are so easy to use and can be less messy.  I was going to just rub some gelatos around on a piece of water color cardstock but then I noticed I still had this blank canvas I bought a while ago on sale.  So thought I'd use that to make something pretty and hang around my crafty desk or somewhere. I used a 5x7 canvas and rubbed some pink, purple, blue and gold Gelatos on it.  Then I took the brush the Gelatos come with and added some water to blend the colors together.  I had to wait until everything was dry before I could glue stuff onto the canvas.  I used TGF's Splotchy and B...

TGF's Alter-Ego Contest

Hi!  The Greeting Farm (TGF) had an Alter-Ego contest a little while ago and I never got to post what I made for it.  It seems like forever since I used my TGF stamps.  Truthfully, I had to dig my containers out of the cabinet to find the stamps I wanted to use.  I don't seem to have as much time to "just craft" anymore.  Lots of my crafting is dedicated to DT requirements which I love to do but sometimes you just want to do whatevers, you know? Anyway, I wanted to use the Trinket Box kit I bought from La-La Land Crafts.  They have such fun looking kits and since it looks like a book, I thought it would go nicely with the TGF stamps I chose. I chose to use Gracie's head with Annika's body.  These two stamps (one old and one newer) are probably my favorites from TGF.  I gave Gracie's head a little tilt.  I added gesso and then painted the box in pink, and then glued the pieces all together.  Once in a while I'll look through my st...

TGF Kidz (again)

Hi!  My youngest made another card to enter in The Greeting Farm's Kidz challenge .  He loves animals and he wanted a chicken stamp so I fished out this set called McSplendid Farm.  I haven't used this in a while.  So he had a story that went along with this card.  The chicken very loudly yelled Hey at the pig which made the pig jump and that is why he is floating in the air.  And he turned the ears on the mouse into those oversized headphones.  Each animal got 2 rhinestones.  No other embellishments this time.  I think this is his CAS look.  Haha. It's almost time for another kiddie activity so I've got to get them ready to head out.  Thanks for reading!

TGF Kidz

Hi all!  The Greeting Farm is having a fun kids contest so out of my 3 kids only my youngest wanted to participate.  But he's always crafting with me when I am crafting so it wasn't hard for me to get him to use some TGF stamps.  He usually picks his favorite TGF stamp set which is Miss Anya Garland but actually picked something different. He picked Anya Treats and wanted that particular sentiment.  I had to read them to him since he doesn't read yet.  He "highlighted" the sentiment.  He colored in markers and wants to learn to blend.  Haha.  All the embellishments are from his own stash!  He collects ribbon from gifts and treats and puts them in his own box.  I tied the bow for him.  I bought him his own rhinestones cause he kept eyeing mine out.  I am glad he is using them in moderation and not all over the place.  And then I guess he felt he had to draw Pikachu's face on there.  Not sure why but there it is....

More babies!

Hello again!  I have another card!  Well, it's been a busy baby season for a lot of people I know, and everyone's having a boy!  So here's another baby boy card.  I need 2 more of these now.  And the only baby stamp set I have is this Greeting Farm one. Colored and cut out all the baby accessories.  Mounted it on a My Favorite Things Die-namics doily.  Embossed the card with a circles folder from Tim Holtz/Sizzix.  Sentiment and banner die cut is from Papertrey Ink.  Going to enter this in The Greeting Farm's Retro Fresh Boy Challenge , embossing challenge , and Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes . Have a great weekend!

Birthday card

Hello, I actually have another card...it was actually a card I made without any occasion or person in mind, which is a little unusual for me since I'm usually cramming at the last minute to send things out!  It was nice to have some down time over spring break.  Anyhow, it also conveniently happens to be a Free for All challenge at Anyone for Anya  this week. So I jumped on the big Anya bandwagon.  Also jumped on the copic bandwagon, except for the hair which is black colored pencil.  I kind of like that the limbs were thin and the clothes were mostly hidden by the box.  It seemed like a good beginner thing to start with coloring a box.  Patterned paper is from Echo Park's Happy Days.  Cut the one border with the perfect layers ruler.  Border punch was Fiskars.  Hmm, not much else I can add about this card.  Maybe it could have used a sentiment somewhere near the bottom, but I didn't look too hard for a small birthday sent...

Welcome Baby

Hello.  I know Eva is probably shocked that I actually made something and am posting!  Crafting seems kind of like work, took too long of a break and I got kind of rusty.  I think I forgot how to blog too.  Anyhow, mostly posting now so I can link to some challenges since I needed to make some baby cards. Followed the sketch at Simon Says Stamp ...sketch #1 Used The Greeting Farm's boy baby for the Retro Fresh Boy challenge .  Sentiment is from Paper Smooches.  Maybe a little too much white space but couldn't think of anything else to add.  I actually bought some more Copic markers, excuse the weird coloring of the baby, no blending skills at all, I need more practice...  Dies are from My Favorite Things and Papertrey Ink.  Pretty simple card, had to ease back into cardmaking...

you're special

Hello!  Hey, another post!  I was gonna wait to post this but I love this little stamp from The Greeting Farm .  Her name is Gracie and she's so adorable.  Love her hat and the flower and her cute face and braids and everything!  She is definitely my favorite from this month's release. I used my rectangle dies to frame her.  Also used My Favorite Things dies for the rolled up rose and leaves that I cut from felt.  I realize I have too many dies.  Too many to keep track of.  I haven't used these flower dies in so long!  That should be part of my crafting resolution -- to use my dies and the rest of my supplies!  Oh, I forgot to mention that the sentiment is from Paper Smooches and it's heat embossed.  I really like heat embossing in white.  Here's a little close up.  I paper pieced her hat using paper from Doodlebug.  I actually have ordered another one of these pads.  Even though they are Valentine's...

Thanks so much, TGF!

Hi everyone!  So today I posted my last entry for The Greeting Farm .  It's mostly sad but I do get to have more time now.  Maybe I'll crochet something.  That would be relaxing.  I still have a bunch of yarn that I bought thinking I could make a hat or something.  I'll have to get back to that. I made a little thank you card for Marie and Jess of TGF for letting me be a part of the DT.  My very first DT.  This gal is from an old TGF set called Hope & Grace.  I actually won my first TGF challenge using her on a card.  I hope my coloring skills have improved since then! My kids are starting to get the hang of this vacation.  My boys woke up at 8 this morning!  Sadly I was already awake.  I was anticipating their early wake up and started breakfast.  I think tomorrow the kids and I will be making some gingerbread men ornaments. Thanks for reading!

TGF's December Retro-Fresh!

Hello!  Back again to share TGF's December Retro-Fresh challenge .  This month is to create a Christmas/Holiday card using non-traditional colors.  I made 2 cards.  The first was a mistake because I forgot that it was retro-fresh and the stamp I used was a new one, not at least 6 months old.  So I made another one in the same style. This was my first card but I used WS James!  Everything is heat embossed in white onto black cardstock.  That's pretty non-traditional right?  The sentiments are from CC Designs. Here's my second one that has WS Ryan.  Same but different. Check out TGF's blog for more non-traditional Christmas/Holiday cards! Thanks for reading!

TGF's Double Take Tuesday!

Hello!  Another Double Take Tuesday from The Greeting Farm and it's a sketch this week! Here is my card featuring Sadie. Close up photo.  Sketch by Jas.  Sorry, not too chatty today.  I'll be back with a couple more posts later on. Thanks so much for reading!

TGF's Double Take Tuesday -- Rainbow Colors!

Hello!  Here's a fun color challenge for you!  TGF's Double Take Tuesday is to use Rainbow colors!  Here is Rainbow Twinkle Bean!  I knew Twinkle Bean would be adorable in Rainbow colors cause I had seen Denice color her Twinkle Bean like a rainbow too!  That inspired me to give it a try.  Thanks, Denice!  I used ROYGBIV but switched out the indigo with pink.  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado Kids' Quotes and heat embossed in white.  I added bling in rainbow colors but I colored some of the rhinestones with my Copics to match.  This is a small card. Please head over to TGF to check out more Rainbow creations! Thanks for reading!

TGF's Double-Take Tuesday!

Hello!  I am hosting TGF's Double-Take Tuesday for this week!  I made a sketch.  Only the second sketch I've created in my entire life.  It's pretty simple so hope you can give it a try. So I used James for my sketch.  The sentiment is from TGF's Sweet & Toxic set.  I used my Perfect Layers rulers for the black mats. After I colored him up, I thought he reminded me a bit of Damon from The Vampire Diaries!  Yeah, a sign that I'm watching too much of that show.  But it's kind of addictive.  I'm somewhere in the middle of the 3rd season. Alright, please check out TGF's blog for more challenge inspiration and details! Thanks for reading!

TGF's Farm Fresh Friday -- Cinema!

Hello!  I'm taking a break from Thanksgiving cooking for a quick post.  It's time for a new Farm Fresh Friday and Sara is hosting a challenge based on your favorite movie. I've made a few cards before based on movies so I was kind of stuck on thinking of another movie since I hardly watch movies in the first place.  But finally I was inspired to make this one.  Can you guess the movie?  I used Anya Styles to represent Carrie from Sex and the City.  The background is MFT's Skyline Border die.  I thought about making the rest of the girls too but yeah, I am totally too into the second season of The Vampire Diaries.  I may catch up to the current season soon. Okay, I'm going back to turkey duty. Thanks for reading!

TGF's Double Take Tuesday!

Hi!  Today is another color challenge over at TGF's Double Take Tuesday !  Here are the colors:  frost blue, sage green, white and baby pink. I have to admit that I thought these colors were a bit hard.  I actually looked up sage green.  Haha.  And had to think about frost blue as well.  But similar colors are fine so don't let that hold you back from jumping into the challenge. I decided to use Holiday Anya 2.  She is very festive looking with her big bow. Please hop over to TGF's blog for more inspiration! Thanks for reading!
