Happy Birthday To You

Hi!  So after kind of a stressful day dealing with some school stuff for my daughter, I sat down and finished this card.  I was feeling super bummed and didn't have the energy to go find a sketch.  So left to my own devices I just slapped together this card to get my mind off of the situation knowing that we'd have to deal with it tonight.  Just when you think everything is going great, some kind of mini crisis has to land in your lap.  When does it ever end?  And does raising kids ever get any easier? I made this card for Saturated Canary's Challenge #16 -- Happy Birthday and Simon Says Stamp 3rd Birthday Celebration .  This is a Saturated Canary digi called Ellie's Birthday.  And I colored her in first then realized hey, I don't have any papers that really match so this was the best I could do.  The little circle sentiment is from Wild Rose Studios. Her hair was a bit difficult to color for me being so fine and light.  Anywa...

You are so fairy sweet!

Hi!  Happy Sunday!  Last night I finished up this Wryn card to play along with Tiddly Inks Challenge 85 -- A million ways to say thank you .  Wryn is just so super sweet!  There are some images that just make me happy when I'm coloring them and this is one of them.  She is just so cute and happy. I used Fairy Wishes Wryn and the frame from Tiddly Inks.  I used 2 Tiddly Inks sentiments and placed them in the frame too. I added some, okay, maybe LOTS of stickles on her wings and the roses and her wand.  Added some ribbon and a rose (with stickles) and more stickles on the roses around the frame. Pretty simple card.  Just had fun coloring.  Thanks for reading!

Take a Moment ...

Hi, hi, hi!  Happy National Scrapbooking Day!  Happy Boy's/Children's Day!  and Happy Free Comic Book Day!  Wow, lots of special events going on today!  You know that if you go to a participating book/comic book store, you can get a free comic book?  Even our local library participates so we usually go there to get one for each of our kids.  Just Google it! Okay, I'll try to talk more about my card today.  I haven't played with my SOG stamps in a really long time.  I really love the 2 new Nouveau Girls stamps, Renew and Royal.  I love their dresses and their hair!  So I kind of had to get them.  Hehe.  And I got them just in time to participate in SOG's May Sketch Challenge . I decided to stamp up Renew first.  I love her dress so much!  I think I could've done her hair better but I still think she is pretty.  And my daughter actually thought she was pretty too and she rarely hands out those kinds o...

all my heart

Hi!  Hmm, ever feel kind of uninspired?  Or maybe too overwhelmed to create?  Sometimes there are so many cute stamps I want to color up or so many fun challenges I want to participate in that I can't get myself to pick one and get started.  I knew I wanted to participate in Anyone for Anya's Girly Girl Challenge and to use the current TGF sketch 13 at SCS but I don't know if I absolutely love what I created.  Oh well. I decided to use TGF's Daisy since I hadn't even trimmed her yet.  I know, I still have a few more to use that are still untrimmed.  I do love how bright-eyed she is.  Oh, and while I was coloring her, I thought her hair reminded me of Kate from Jon & Kate Plus 8.  You know, it's all flat in the front but really poofed up in the back.  I was really sad when they got a divorce.  I mean, poor babies!  Anyway, I slapped on some flowers and heart rhinestones I picked up from Walmart.  They had lots o...

Happy Mother's Day

Hello, just popping in with 2 quick Mother's Day cards before I send them off to the grandmas.  Can't believe it's May already and I actually made something.  I wasn't really planning on making anything, but sometimes it's fun to just sit around and make cards.  Maybe I was procrastinating, didn't want to get around to doing the not so fun chores and what not. Anyhow, I used the sketch from CPS #262 , unfortunately it took me so long to make the card that I didn't have time to do a post, so the deadline for that week's challenge has come and gone... But here's my card anyhow. I can't keep track of all the names of my stamps anymore and I'm too lazy to go look them up, but this is a Milton stamp colored with pencils.  I tried to do that partial die cutting thing with the image sticking out of the circle.  Made my own text and polka background paper using background stamps from Papertrey Ink.  I like the idea of those background stamps ...

Butterfly Lucy

Hi!  I made a card for Flutter By Wednesday's 200th and last challenge .  I'll miss the challenges!  Here's the sketch for the last challenge. I decided to go with CC Designs Butterfly Lucy.  Isn't she sweet?  I love the flower border too also from CC Designs.  I got the grass die even though I have one from MFT because this one is a bit shorter and fits the flower border nicely. I added some glossy accents on her hair accessories and the dots on her dress.  No, she's not eating the butterfly like my husband had first thought.  Geez, I don't understand him sometimes. I also used the little saying from CC Designs Spring Logos and stamped it onto a cloudy background.  The butterfly is from CC Designs Butterfly Border that I love.  I'd also like to enter this into Paper Sundaes Challenge #118 -- Ribbon and Pearls , Stamp and Create April Challenge -- Spring , and Ribbon Carousel Challenge 50 -- Anything Goes . I had a...

You're an angel

Hi!  I'm hoping this will be a quick post cause I want to sleep!  So let's get all the challenge info out of the way.  Pretty interesting and convenient that TGF and Young Crafters Unite would both have a No Coloring challenge.  It was a nice change of pace to not have to color. Oh, I'm also using Veronica's Sketch from TGF's Saturday Sketch over at SCS .  I liked this sketch.  Pretty and manageable. Here is my card.  I know I said I wouldn't photograph at night anymore but otherwise I might miss the TGF deadline.  I used TGF's Angel Anya and did a bit of heat embossing with her.  I made yet another cloudy background.  I'm addicted, I think.  I added some stickles to her halo and wings and added a tiny pink bow.  The sentiment is also from TGF that I picked up during their Farmers Market sale.  I love those sales! Okay, I think it's a record time for posting for me.  I'm gonna link up and then go to...
