batty for you

Hello!  I just finished up this cute baby bat amigurumi.  I made it following a pattern I purchased HERE .  My bat turned out a bit smaller because I used a smaller crochet hook and my yarn is a bit thinner. Isn't he adorable?!  His wings can open and close too. Here he is hanging on my finger.  My finger looks really short here.  I guess I really do have short little fingers.  He is a cute project to make for Halloween. Lately I have been multicrafting (like multitasking but just for craft projects).  Can I trademark that term, multicrafting?  No one steal that, please.  I think it has helped me get more done.  I have set up different areas for different tasks.  I have a stamping/coloring area, diecutting area and crocheting area.  I used to try to finish one project at a time but I realized my attention is too short, and I would get bored or tired of my current project but couldn't go on to another one cause I ...

You Can Always Lean On Me

Hi!  Well I know I said I'd only be entering one time but I did end up making one more card for the Innovation category of MFT's Challenge .  I had wanted to do something with magnets because my kids have these tiny magnets in their bead box.  I think they are for making bracelets so I grabbed couple of them.  I wasn't sure what I was making but then thought of something the other night.  These magnets are oval in shape and they have a hole in the middle to thread string, I think. This is the card I made featuring Birdie Brown's Happy Hedgehogs.  Love, love, love Birdie Brown's images and cards!  I did some masking with the larger hedgehog to sit on the log which I also lengthened.  I used the stitched border background again from Blueprints 25.  The yellow sun is cut from the Stitched Arched dies and I blended with distress oxide. Also used the mini cloud stencil to blend in the background using distress oxide.  Under the lo...

Welcome, Little One

Hello!  So I probably do this often.  Like think about joining in on a challenge but actually not do anything until the last minute.  I spent almost the whole day yesterday coloring up the images and thinking about the layout for a Clean and Simple Card.  What a misnomer!  CAS cards are sometimes not that simple and if you saw my crafting area, it's not very clean either.  But finally done today to enter my card into My Favorite Things Card Design Challenge .  I made a baby girl card using MFT's Cuddly Koalas.  I stamped the koala image, colored with Copics and fussy cut them out.  Now that I have old eyes, it's hard to color in the tiny details and even cutting is getting difficult.  Why do our eyes have to get old too? I used MFT's Blueprints 25 for the stitched background which is the perfect size of an A2 card.  Love it! I used watercolor cardstock for the background because I love how the texture looks when blending....

Hi, I'm not even gonna say it ...

Just ignore that I haven't posted anything in a while.  Not gonna even dwell on it. Anyway, in case there are some people that still read my blog, Hello!  Thought I'd pop in and see what blogland is up to these days and quickly share something that I finished making a few weeks ago. I found this wonderful crochet pattern of Snorlax HERE .  Snorlax is a Pokemon in case you were in doubt or wondering.  It's probably one of the best patterns I've found of Snorlax so I had to try to make it since my boys love Pokemon. I made mine a little bit differently by using felt for the stomach instead of crocheting that.  I used 2 layers of felt because I could actually see through it a bit when I used one.  I placed the felt on his body and kind of guessed the size and shape and cut it out.  Then I sewed both layers of felt onto his body.  His teeth are also small pieces of felt that I had glued.   And his arms stick out forward a bit instead of d...

I love you this much

Hi!  I have another box card to share today.  This one also features one of the cute hedgehogs from Birdie Brown (MFT).  I love that his arms (legs) are stretched wide and the sentiment fits it well. Here is the box card folded.  I am working on some teacher cards next so hopefully I'll have some more cards to share soon. Thanks for dropping by!

thank you for always being there

Hi!  I finally made another box card!  I've come to realize that I only have a couple hours a day if I'm lucky to craft or work on my Etsy shop.  And sometimes I procrastinate so those 2 hours probably decrease down a lot!  So this box card features the cute hedgehogs from Birdie Brown at MFT.  The sentiment is a combination from Lawn Fawn and Mama Elephant.  While I think these box cards are cute and fun, sometimes it takes a bit of time to align correctly so that it will fold nicely.  The first 2 I made came out really easy but for some reason I think I wasn't liking these up nicely and so it would lay flat one way but not really the other. But I think I got it now.  In any case, I need to take the time to align the sides carefully.  My plan is to make 3 more of these box cards.  Haha, I always have plans but they don't always happen.  By the way, I restocked the snowflakes and maple leaves in my shop.  In case you ...

graduation cards

Hi all!  I made a bunch of graduation cards in different colors.  These took me a while to finish in between packing confetti!  I love to make all sorts of things but it's getting harder to find the time.  And sometimes I'm just too tired! I made these graduation cards before.  This image is from Sister Stamps.  Do you guys miss them?  They put out a lot of great images like this one.  I colored them up differently in black, blue, red and green.  Are those the most popular school colors?  Here is a slightly different design using the year instead of congrats. Here's the green version. That's it for now.  My plan is to make more box cards today (and pack more confetti).  Hopefully it'll be a productive day. Thanks for stopping by!
