Birthday and Thank Yous

My youngest celebrates his 2nd birthday tomorrow.  How quickly time flies.  Got this cute card from Cheryl.  It has all these interesting folds and I haven't really seen this anywhere so I'm not sure if it has a name or anything.  Maybe she'll blog about it later???

This is how the card opens up.

This is the back side of the card.

The back side also opens up but horizontally.  Isn't that neat?

I really liked how the card opened up so I thought I would make a couple but just a simpler version.
My version just opens in the front.  I love Fleur Anya from TGF.  She is so cute.  I cut the scallop square from felt that I bought at Walmart using my new Big Shot.  I really want to try the wool felt from PTI though so that's on my next order there.  And I do love my Big Shot.  It's so easy to use and my youngest likes to turn the handle with me.  I'm sending this as a Thank You card for Cheryl.  (Sorry, spoiling the surprise).  She was so thoughtful to not only remember my son's birthday but also to give all my kids Disney gift cards while we were at Disneyland!  Really generous.

Opened view.  Yeah, my copics leaked through the paper.

Another angle.

This is the second card I made with Fleur Anya.  I've been meaning to send Jen over at Pieces of Me a Thank You card for all the wonderful blog candy but got sidetracked by our trip.  I don't want her to think I forgot.

That's it for now.  Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Wow, I can't believe you already crafted something. I think I waste too much time watching TV. Thanks for the thank you card! I got Ryan a gift card too, but he wanted to save his and only spend mom's money!

nuts and bolts

Hello!  Today I'll be sharing the last amigurumi I made during my crochet frenzy.  I haven't been crocheting much recently except for this one little project I'm kind of procrastinating with.  I really do love this last one because I think it came out really cute. This is a little crocheted robot designed by Bubblegum Belles .  You can find the pattern HERE .  Sometimes I purchase the patterns especially if they are really cute.  But a lot of designers do list their patterns for free too on their blogs so I always check to see if they have a blog or not.  It's also important to read their pattern listing too if you are purchasing to see whether they are for personal use or also for commercial use.  Here is a different view of him.  Happy that he is able to sit on his bottom.  I actually cut out 2 felt hearts using a heart die, blanket stitched them together, and then hot glued the heart to the robot.  I tried stitching one h...

Snowman gift card holder

Hi!  I was planning to post this last night but I was just too tired to write or think of complete sentences.  It's been a busy week with the boys on Fall break and still trying to finish up a bunch of crafts.  I have been trying to make some crocheted crafts to put in my Etsy shop and finally I'm done with one.  It's a crocheted snowman that can hold a gift card or anything actually that is small enough to fit in the pouch.  The pattern is designed by ChiWei Ranck of One Dog Woof and can be found HERE . Here's the little snowman with his arms folded over in the front to look like he is hugging the card.  I added this fun card that I stamped.  You can definitely add in a gift card too behind this card. The gift card reaches under his nose. This is how the little opening of the pouch looks.  I hope I can make more of these little guys.  These would be so cute for teachers and I think it would be easy to put a little wire throug...

Roxie Recently, I saw these layering tags dies and thought I really wanted those.  I love the look of layered tags so I used my Perfect Layers rulers to make some with My Mind's Eye Happy Haunting papers. I have a tag die from Papertrey Ink so I used that as my smaller tag.  I glued that tag onto kraft cardstock and used my ruler to cut a 1/8th inch border aro...
