love you more, monkey!

Hi!  We have an unexpected free day today.  No kiddie activities or obligations.  But it's quickly filling up with chores and cooking.  Ha, there really is never a day with nothing to do.  At least I can still hang out in my pjs and not have to fix my hair.  I think that is the best way to spend the day.  And cooking waffles for lunch.  My kids always ask me to cook them something yummy for breakfast like waffles or pancakes or French toast but lately I'm just too sleepy in the mornings.  So I've decided breakfast for lunch is much easier for us.  And occasionally breakfast for dinner as well.

This is a calendar I made for my middle one's birthday recently.  I did a tutorial on it HERE if you're interested.  Usually I make my kids some kind of book mark for their birthdays but he requested a calendar after he saw the first one I made.  So I made him one with this monkey which is an older CC Designs stamp.  They have it in digi format now and is called Flower Power

He loves monkeys!  And he always tells me love you more (from Elle's Studio) when I tell him I love you.  That is his special saying to me.  He is a sweet kid.  Hopefully he doesn't out grow that.

Tomorrow is the first day of school and back to early wake ups, wearing presentable clothes and blow drying/straightening my hair.  Hope you're enjoying your Sunday!

P.S.  I am entering this in Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts Challenge #21 -- Anything Goes.  They have new rules!  Any image is allowed.  Now I finally have a chance to win an awesome badge by Renate'!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cuteness! Cooking that morning meal is always difficult for me. I think it tastes better as dinner. Enjoy your "free" days because I'm sure you don't have much of them. Happy b'day to your sweet little one!

nuts and bolts

Hello!  Today I'll be sharing the last amigurumi I made during my crochet frenzy.  I haven't been crocheting much recently except for this one little project I'm kind of procrastinating with.  I really do love this last one because I think it came out really cute. This is a little crocheted robot designed by Bubblegum Belles .  You can find the pattern HERE .  Sometimes I purchase the patterns especially if they are really cute.  But a lot of designers do list their patterns for free too on their blogs so I always check to see if they have a blog or not.  It's also important to read their pattern listing too if you are purchasing to see whether they are for personal use or also for commercial use.  Here is a different view of him.  Happy that he is able to sit on his bottom.  I actually cut out 2 felt hearts using a heart die, blanket stitched them together, and then hot glued the heart to the robot.  I tried stitching one h...

Snowman gift card holder

Hi!  I was planning to post this last night but I was just too tired to write or think of complete sentences.  It's been a busy week with the boys on Fall break and still trying to finish up a bunch of crafts.  I have been trying to make some crocheted crafts to put in my Etsy shop and finally I'm done with one.  It's a crocheted snowman that can hold a gift card or anything actually that is small enough to fit in the pouch.  The pattern is designed by ChiWei Ranck of One Dog Woof and can be found HERE . Here's the little snowman with his arms folded over in the front to look like he is hugging the card.  I added this fun card that I stamped.  You can definitely add in a gift card too behind this card. The gift card reaches under his nose. This is how the little opening of the pouch looks.  I hope I can make more of these little guys.  These would be so cute for teachers and I think it would be easy to put a little wire throug...

Roxie Recently, I saw these layering tags dies and thought I really wanted those.  I love the look of layered tags so I used my Perfect Layers rulers to make some with My Mind's Eye Happy Haunting papers. I have a tag die from Papertrey Ink so I used that as my smaller tag.  I glued that tag onto kraft cardstock and used my ruler to cut a 1/8th inch border aro...
