I love you (a ton)

Hello!  My 3 kids all went back to school today after a long 4 day weekend.  Already a 4 day weekend when they just had winter vacation???  Why do schools do that?  I think my kids were getting bored too already and started acting a bit loud and crazy.  Thank goodness for some peace and quiet today.

Today, I'm gonna share another card I made using the super cute elephant set from My Favorite Things.  I actually made 2 cards but on the first card I just couldn't get over how using dies to cut out the smaller images made them look like stickers.  It kind of reminded me of those sticker books I used to buy my kids.  The ones that have a scene and then you can fill in the scene with stickers.

Here is the first card.  The flowers and butterfly especially look like stickers to me.  But I love the background and everything else about it.  I'm not sure what I'll be doing with this card yet.

Decided to redo the card and cut the images out by hand instead like I used to do.  Haha.  I think I need to think twice about buying the expensive dies that I may not get a chance to use often enough.  I did omit the flowers the second time around, not because I was lazy but somehow this scene was just enough for me.  Simple and sweet.  (Sentiment by Mama Elephant and Lawn Fawn).

I got around to coloring some bears this morning.  I don't have dies for those so I'll definitely be cutting those out by hand.  Hoping to make more cards this week.  Too bad there are so many errands and chores that get in the way.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I do like the second card better because you do such a splendid job of cutting. Like you, I wonder sometimes about the cost of the dies and their less-than-close cutting. If you are doing multiples, there is no doubt that dies are worth the expense. I have discovered that some brands of dies do cut more precisely and closer to the image than others. Your card is so sweet.... just as Valentine's Day cards are supposed to be.

nuts and bolts

Hello!  Today I'll be sharing the last amigurumi I made during my crochet frenzy.  I haven't been crocheting much recently except for this one little project I'm kind of procrastinating with.  I really do love this last one because I think it came out really cute. This is a little crocheted robot designed by Bubblegum Belles .  You can find the pattern HERE .  Sometimes I purchase the patterns especially if they are really cute.  But a lot of designers do list their patterns for free too on their blogs so I always check to see if they have a blog or not.  It's also important to read their pattern listing too if you are purchasing to see whether they are for personal use or also for commercial use.  Here is a different view of him.  Happy that he is able to sit on his bottom.  I actually cut out 2 felt hearts using a heart die, blanket stitched them together, and then hot glued the heart to the robot.  I tried stitching one h...

Snowman gift card holder

Hi!  I was planning to post this last night but I was just too tired to write or think of complete sentences.  It's been a busy week with the boys on Fall break and still trying to finish up a bunch of crafts.  I have been trying to make some crocheted crafts to put in my Etsy shop and finally I'm done with one.  It's a crocheted snowman that can hold a gift card or anything actually that is small enough to fit in the pouch.  The pattern is designed by ChiWei Ranck of One Dog Woof and can be found HERE . Here's the little snowman with his arms folded over in the front to look like he is hugging the card.  I added this fun card that I stamped.  You can definitely add in a gift card too behind this card. The gift card reaches under his nose. This is how the little opening of the pouch looks.  I hope I can make more of these little guys.  These would be so cute for teachers and I think it would be easy to put a little wire throug...

Roxie Recently, I saw these layering tags dies and thought I really wanted those.  I love the look of layered tags so I used my Perfect Layers rulers to make some with My Mind's Eye Happy Haunting papers. I have a tag die from Papertrey Ink so I used that as my smaller tag.  I glued that tag onto kraft cardstock and used my ruler to cut a 1/8th inch border aro...
