You Can Always Lean On Me

Hi!  Well I know I said I'd only be entering one time but I did end up making one more card for the Innovation category of MFT's Challenge.  I had wanted to do something with magnets because my kids have these tiny magnets in their bead box.  I think they are for making bracelets so I grabbed couple of them.  I wasn't sure what I was making but then thought of something the other night.  These magnets are oval in shape and they have a hole in the middle to thread string, I think.

This is the card I made featuring Birdie Brown's Happy Hedgehogs.  Love, love, love Birdie Brown's images and cards!  I did some masking with the larger hedgehog to sit on the log which I also lengthened.  I used the stitched border background again from Blueprints 25.  The yellow sun is cut from the Stitched Arched dies and I blended with distress oxide.

Also used the mini cloud stencil to blend in the background using distress oxide.  Under the log I used the skinniest fishtail flag die to create an opening.  I wanted to create some movement but not show all the openings.

Here's a close up of them sitting apart.  You might notice something sticking out from under the yellow sun.

When you pull on the tab, the smaller hedgehog slides over and clicks to the larger one because I used the magnets underneath them.  The magnet under the large hedgehog is stationary and I tied some thin fishing line to the other magnet under the smaller hedgehog through the hole that it had.  The sentiment is also stamped onto the tag which is from MFT as well.  The tiny diecut on the tag is from Tag Builders Blueprints 5.

They're so cute together!  You can slide the tag back under and slide the smaller guy back to the right.

This is under all the cute stuff!  Three layers of dimensional tape!

I made a short little video using my phone.  I had to hold my phone in one hand and pull the tab.

That is definitely it for me.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

nuts and bolts

Hello!  Today I'll be sharing the last amigurumi I made during my crochet frenzy.  I haven't been crocheting much recently except for this one little project I'm kind of procrastinating with.  I really do love this last one because I think it came out really cute. This is a little crocheted robot designed by Bubblegum Belles .  You can find the pattern HERE .  Sometimes I purchase the patterns especially if they are really cute.  But a lot of designers do list their patterns for free too on their blogs so I always check to see if they have a blog or not.  It's also important to read their pattern listing too if you are purchasing to see whether they are for personal use or also for commercial use.  Here is a different view of him.  Happy that he is able to sit on his bottom.  I actually cut out 2 felt hearts using a heart die, blanket stitched them together, and then hot glued the heart to the robot.  I tried stitching one h...

Roxie Recently, I saw these layering tags dies and thought I really wanted those.  I love the look of layered tags so I used my Perfect Layers rulers to make some with My Mind's Eye Happy Haunting papers. I have a tag die from Papertrey Ink so I used that as my smaller tag.  I glued that tag onto kraft cardstock and used my ruler to cut a 1/8th inch border aro...

Snowman gift card holder

Hi!  I was planning to post this last night but I was just too tired to write or think of complete sentences.  It's been a busy week with the boys on Fall break and still trying to finish up a bunch of crafts.  I have been trying to make some crocheted crafts to put in my Etsy shop and finally I'm done with one.  It's a crocheted snowman that can hold a gift card or anything actually that is small enough to fit in the pouch.  The pattern is designed by ChiWei Ranck of One Dog Woof and can be found HERE . Here's the little snowman with his arms folded over in the front to look like he is hugging the card.  I added this fun card that I stamped.  You can definitely add in a gift card too behind this card. The gift card reaches under his nose. This is how the little opening of the pouch looks.  I hope I can make more of these little guys.  These would be so cute for teachers and I think it would be easy to put a little wire throug...
