Easter Tags and A Happy Blog Anniversary

(Scroll down for Cheryl's post.  We actually posted at similar times!) Hi!  Well, Cheryl and I have actually made our one year blogging anniversary!  Happy Blog Anniversary, Cheryl!  Hmm, we're not quite sure how to celebrate it.  What should we do? This week I'll also be sharing projects my kids have made.  Simon Says Stamp is having a special children's challenge .  And since I have 3 kids and they all like to craft, it may take this whole week to post their projects!  I'll try to keep it short. These are just some simple goody bags filled with Easter grass and 3 mini eggs in each bag.  Each mini egg has 2 silly bands--those fun shaped rubber bands that kids seem to love to collect.  I cut the tags from PTI's Fillable Frames 9 and my son stamped the Easter egg from PTi's Tag-its #1 and wrote his friends' names on them.  The boys got the Easter egg tags. These are the tags for the girls.  Same tags but he decided to us...

Another Wild Sprout, Eric

Where has the weekend gone?  I can't believe it's almost Monday again!  I only managed to make one card, and a pretty basic one at that.  It's based on the Which One Wednesday sketch this week at the Farm Fresh Challenge blog . Since I already had my Basic Grey Recess papers and somewhat matching Prismacolor pencils out, I used that paper pack and color scheme again.  The cardstock is Papertrey ink.  I actually remembered to look through all my things to try to use something I haven't yet and picked out this scroll die cut edge from a Tim Holtz die.  I also picked a boy image that I haven't stamped yet, I had actually forgotten that his name was Eric but found it out there somewhere on the internet.  I think I have to practice hair coloring on every single stamped image and make a little reference book or something because every time I see a new hairstyle it messes me up!  The sentiment wasn't actually pa...

I strongly dislike bugs

I would say "hate" but I know that's a strong word and the kids in my son's kindergarten class always say "but they're nature."  Well, that's one part of nature I really could do without.  I'll explain my dislike of bugs later.  It has to do with my project.  Anyway, I thought I'd participate in TGF's Farm Fresh Friday Boy Challenge and finally make my youngest his shadowbox frame to hold his baby hat that he came home in from the hospital.  It's not too bad that it took me almost 3 years, is it?  I have made my older two similar frames.  It's been a while since I made something like this.  This is a photo before I placed it in the frame.  I used TGF's Oh Baby set.  I've used this set before and I think the images are super cute.  I had bought this matting from years ago (so I don't know if they still sell it) and I bought one in pink for my daughter and a blue one for my son.  There's 2 sets in one package so I...

A Hello Kitty Happy Spring

I actually have another card!  I was debating about posting it, but I figure since I actually spent time making it, I might as well, otherwise who knows when I'll get a chance to make anything again.  Plus it took me so long to die cut the Hello Kitty.  So again, I found a sketch, this time at Card Positioning Systems #213 . I wanted to use my Sizzlit Hello Kitty that Eva got me probably from a year or 2 ago, along with the Easter eggs.  I actually used this die cut last year, but my son used it for his own crafts, then before I knew it Easter had passed. So I mainly got to work first on die cutting Hello Kitty and giving her a hot pink bunny suit. And then I pasted her suit on and realized I had forgotten to color her whiskers!  So I penned it in and it looked messy...so I had to cut everything again!  The second time I used a tip I read on someone's blog a while ago, and sorry, but I forgot who it was.  I think it was someone from ...

A Wild Sprout Dylan Happy Birthday

Sorry, I don't have very original titles for my posts.  I'm just amazed that I have something to post.  Today is the start of "no homework" week for my son, which translates into less work for me as well...at least for today.  So I decided to make a boy card for the Farm Fresh Friday challenge . And I needed help from a sketch.  I just now discovered that Beate Johns has a list of challenge blogs on her sidebar so I happened to click on Sunday Sketch and Stamp and the latest Challenge #51 was up.  I think I should have scaled my card a little better since there seems to be a lot of blank space up top, oh well.  I added the eyelets on the left side, and now I remember why I don't really care for eyelets, I don't know how to attach them nicely!   I used a Basic Grey paper pack called Recess with PTI cardstock. I used one of the Tag-Its sentiments, and just punched out a 1 inch circle and added a twine bow.  Dylan is colore...

You are my sunshine

Hi!  Here's a card inspired by TGF's Which One Wednesday Spring Challenge and also All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge (anything goes) .  I loosely followed sketch #141 from Friday Sketchers .  So sad that I only got to participate in their last sketch before they shut their doors.  But they still have a bunch of great sketches that are all new to me so I thought I'd try them. I'm proud of this card because I used old papers and a stamp (TGF's Summer from the Roll Call set) I haven't used yet.  And I've had that sentiment for a while too now.  So I'm really trying to reduce my paper supply and ink up each of my stamps. I used floral shaped pins again behind the felt grass.  I cut the grass with shredder scissors.  We bought it to shred important papers but they work pretty well for cutting grass.  I added the rhinestones onto the pins and larger rhinestones on the brown twine over the grass.  I also found another use for fun foam!...

Hello, Friend

Hi!  I wanted to make a card for TGF's Something New challenge but never made the deadline.  So thought I'd make a card for TGF's Mystery Monday Case .  I am happy that you can use any stamp now for the challenges.  I'd always have to check myself to make sure I was using the right line of stamps. I decided to use one of the images in TGF's Miss Anya Lounge stamp set.  First time I'm using this set.  I really am trying to get myself to use every stamp at least once.  Maybe I will need to stop buying more stamps for a while.  TGF stamps are so hard to resist though. I used a little floral pin and PTI's Tiny Tags stamp and die sets.  The tags and stamps are so cute--one of my favorites from PTI!  I am also challenging myself to use more of my old papers.  I came to this conclusion after I had placed about $50 worth of papers into my shopping cart when I was online one day and thought I'm so ridiculous for buying new paper when I h...
