Boys' Day and Shopping Too

So it was a really productive weekend in terms of crafting and shopping!  Yay!  First let me share a picture of the cute Lesportsac bag I bought yesterday.  It's one of their newest prints and I had a 15% off coupon.  It was surprising that my hubby was okay with me buying it.  I think he still feels guilty since I missed out on the tokidoki bag that was a really good deal on hautelook.com.

On to my Boys' Day post.  Boys' Day is May 5th and I ran across this post on Dandelion Designs.  See HERE.  It inspired me to make these for my son's preschool class.  Just stamp, cut and tape.  I put a little label in the back with who it's from.

Hello Kitty pencils for the girls.

Car pencils for the boys.  Originally I had wanted to buy Toy Story pencils that I had seen at Price Busters but when I went back they were all sold out.  Should have bought them when I first saw them.  I bought these at Price Busters too.

There are other Boys' Day ideas on Dandelion Designs too.  See HERE.  I had thought about tying the fish with string to make it look like a fishing pole but I got a little lazy and wanted to get onto other projects.  And since all the kiddies will be moving onto kindergarten, I thought a little pencil would be perfect.

Before I go, I wanted to share some other shopping related news.  Die Cuts r Us is having an anniversary sale!  They have really great prices on TGF stamps and pretty good shipping prices.  Sunghee over at Creativity in Progress opened her own store at After Five Designs.  See HERE.  She has some really creative ideas.

It's a little gloomy and stormy here but hopefully you're having a nice day!  Thanks for reading!

Cute bag! Cute pencils too, esp the Hello Kitty! You're inspiring me to give stuff at the end of year preschool party, although I might just buy stuff, don't think I can make 20 things by the end of the month.

nuts and bolts

Hello!  Today I'll be sharing the last amigurumi I made during my crochet frenzy.  I haven't been crocheting much recently except for this one little project I'm kind of procrastinating with.  I really do love this last one because I think it came out really cute. This is a little crocheted robot designed by Bubblegum Belles .  You can find the pattern HERE .  Sometimes I purchase the patterns especially if they are really cute.  But a lot of designers do list their patterns for free too on their blogs so I always check to see if they have a blog or not.  It's also important to read their pattern listing too if you are purchasing to see whether they are for personal use or also for commercial use.  Here is a different view of him.  Happy that he is able to sit on his bottom.  I actually cut out 2 felt hearts using a heart die, blanket stitched them together, and then hot glued the heart to the robot.  I tried stitching one h...

Snowman gift card holder

Hi!  I was planning to post this last night but I was just too tired to write or think of complete sentences.  It's been a busy week with the boys on Fall break and still trying to finish up a bunch of crafts.  I have been trying to make some crocheted crafts to put in my Etsy shop and finally I'm done with one.  It's a crocheted snowman that can hold a gift card or anything actually that is small enough to fit in the pouch.  The pattern is designed by ChiWei Ranck of One Dog Woof and can be found HERE . Here's the little snowman with his arms folded over in the front to look like he is hugging the card.  I added this fun card that I stamped.  You can definitely add in a gift card too behind this card. The gift card reaches under his nose. This is how the little opening of the pouch looks.  I hope I can make more of these little guys.  These would be so cute for teachers and I think it would be easy to put a little wire throug...

Roxie Recently, I saw these layering tags dies and thought I really wanted those.  I love the look of layered tags so I used my Perfect Layers rulers to make some with My Mind's Eye Happy Haunting papers. I have a tag die from Papertrey Ink so I used that as my smaller tag.  I glued that tag onto kraft cardstock and used my ruler to cut a 1/8th inch border aro...
