Bee Happy

Hi!  I just recently received my first Paper Smooches stamp order and so I thought I'd play along with their July Sparks Challenge.  There are a lot of sketches and/or color combinations to pick from and the stamps are so super cute! 


The funny thing is that even though I got some of their clear stamps, I love the free digi bee.  He is so adorable so I made a card using him even though my printer is really bad.  So bad that I actually went out and bought a new one but it still prints not that great.  I don't know what it is but I can still see these tiny little dots over any kind of image that I'm trying to print.  Frustrating to say the least. 

The thing about digis though is that you can manipulate the image and make really fun cards!  I love this little card.  I made the girl bee just a bit smaller and I thought if I should erase the boy bee's eye lashes but decided to just draw in longer lashes on the girl.  I printed them twice and cut one set out to pop them up.  The bee happy sentiment is also a free digi.  The heart is from the A Little Lovin set and the XO from Chubby Chums set.  The only thing is that I wished the bees were placed just a bit higher up on the card but still love how cute they are.  Maybe one day this bee will be a clear stamp??

Oh, and I used the Designer Draft sketch in the middle and the white, sunshine, baby pink, grey Cool Shades color combo.

Well, it's finally here, all 3 of my kiddies start school tomorrow!  It's just a short day for my youngest who is starting preschool.  I get to stay with him tomorrow but after that he's on his own.  Hope he does okay.

So cute! Love your bee couple and eyelashes! I can't see any spots in your bee, but do you think they're from the image? I think the pngs with transparent backgrounds might print better than jpgs with white backgrounds. Plus you can paper piece those. Or can you somehow select the black line parts and cut and paste it into a transparent background yourself?

Hi!  After finishing up these 2 projects for TGF's Blog Hop , I've come to realize that I am kind of addicted to stamps, especially TGF stamps.  Hehe.  Okay, I will not babble on too much since there are lots of other blogs to check out as well.  I made something for both categories, Holiday and General. First up is my Holiday card. I recently acquired Hippie Anya!  She inspired me to make a "peace" card for the holidays. But then I had to add Fleur Anya for "love" ... and 80s Anya for "joy."  So great that these stamps could be turned into something Christmas-y. upcycling Pokemon wrappers

Hello everyone!  I am back with my latest sewing creations.  I have been playing around with plastic wrappers!  I've seen those upcycled plastic wrap bags and purses (usually made from Capri Sun package juice) but never really paid attention to them or how they were made until I saw this tutorial using the wrappers from Pokemon cards.  My boys love Pokemon cards and were just throwing the wrappers away but I started saving them and collected enough from their recent birthdays to make a couple of items.  Here is a little coin pouch (didn't want to call it a purse since it's for my youngest boy and he'd probably not like that).  This little pouch was made with 4 wrappers, 2 in front and 2 in back.  It is a bit tough to turn right side out because the wrappers and contact paper get stiff.  But it's possible and looks really neat!  I made it so he could hang it from the inside of his backpack and also carry around a little bit of emergency...
